Ini museumnya keren banget. Lokasinya gak jauh dari tugu pahlawan, tapi masuk kedalam lorong dan perumahan rakyat. Aksesnya emang agak sempit. Dulu kesana bareng teman-teman jalan kaki karena dulu belum ada transportasi online dan kami anak rantau jadi belum tahu mau sewa kendaraan dimana, but it's so really fun

Love it! You can see how they make the cigarettes. You even can smell the tobacco, it's very strong! To enter the museum, you should be 18+ and show your ID. And... This is the greatest part. You can join the free tour. You should book first by phoning the office or you can come early to register. The tour is available from Tuesday-Sunday, 3 times a day, at 9, 12, and 15.

The museum and the gallery is so interesting.
Anyway, you can also booked for having trip around some historical places with Surabaya Heritage red bus for free.
It was so fun eventhough only short time.

Awesome places! You will get free city tour by House of Sampoerna. They will bring you around Surabaya to see old building and Surabaya in different angle. Actually you will see Surabaya in vintage atmosphere. It is all free, you just register first before you joint this program.

Great interior.. you can find the history of cigarette and sampoerna company. There is a restaurant there. As I remember the price is started from 20k. You can take a lot of pictures here. It's really beautiful place. There's no entrance ticket. You just pay the parking fee

Yokhanan Pambajeng (29/03/2018 03:15)
Nice place. You can watch the cigarettes made by hand in the weekday. Also have tour bus (free of charge) buat you must book first

Gema Satria (24/03/2018 16:55)
Very very recommended and educational. Every Surabaya visitor should go there!
The museum is free. They also provide docents that will guide and tell you stories about this legendary cigarette company

Erny Ludvyani (21/03/2018 03:08)
This is a historical place. This old building is now being functioned as a museum. The location is far from the main road, you need to take pedicab from the main road. This museum belongs to Sampoerna Company. You can see the history of Sampoerna company as a successful cigarette brand in Indonesia. You can ask for a guide or walk on your own. There are clean restrooms here and a gift shop.

Muharram Septiono (08/03/2018 22:28)
Surabaya is city with a lot of museum. This one will teach us about the story of Sampoerna (major kretek brand in Indonesia). The building is from Indonesian colonial era.
Surabaya Heritage Tour bus is started here.
Free of charge even for the parking.

Ribka Simatupang (06/03/2018 18:10)
One of the best tourist attractions in Surabaya. It was originally the house and cigarette factory of Sampoerna family, one of wealthiest Indonesian tycoon. It has been renovated and change into company museum. Give quite brief information of ciggarates journey in Indonesia since the corporation has been established since Dutch colonial era. The old building is well preserved and plenty of instagramable spot inside. They also provide free thematic city tour but you need to book in advance.

H Hengki (17/11/2017 11:50)
This colonial style building was built in 1862. Now it houses a museum for a cigarette company.
Here visitors can learn about the history of sampoerna, a well known & much loved indonesian cigarette company. Visitors can also witness actual hand-rolled cigarette production, however visitors are not allowed to take photos of the production facility.
The museum is very well maintained, entry is free & guides are provided.
One thing I don't like about this place is the strong smell of cigarette cloves throughout the entire building.

Giri K (24/10/2017 01:54)
A museum dedicated to a tobacco company in Indonesia. The kretek cigarette combines tobacco with cloves for a favour that is uniquely Indonesian. They have various paintings, busts, and other items once owned by the founders of the company. They also showcase an old printing machine and it's cigarette box prints.

Roy Satyanusa (18/10/2017 10:07)
It's the most modern and impressive museum in Surabaya. Located in the north area of Surabaya and close with Surabaya Old Quarter. It has many collections about tobbacco, cloves in Indonesia especially East Java. It's free entry and you can also have a sightseeing around Surabaya City by using their own private city-tour bus, and it's also free. This is also an oasis to hide from the heat in Surabaya

agustinus angkoso (09/09/2017 14:53)

Citra Pandiangan (08/09/2017 02:13)
This house of sampoerna is nice place to visit. The most I like is city tour to get some historical places. The restaurant in this area also so yummy. I also like to get see some worker which so quick make cigarette so fantastic for my own eyes see it alive

Aldian Salim (31/08/2017 04:19)
A very well maintained and FREE museum of one of the biggest local cigarettes company in Indonesia. You can also learn a bit of history during the colonial era and how the founder started the company with a simple stall. There is a cafe nearby which also provides great food.

Mutiah (16/08/2017 21:55)
One of the most well-maintained museum in Indonesia. At first we will welcomed by the smell of pure tobacco and cloves, so authentic. They let us see the life story of the founder, how they expand the business, and the company improvements through the years. They're also have a live process of the handmade cigarette packaging process. So impressive. There's also an art gallery, a café, and a bus for city tour. It's all free.

Haryo Suryo Kusumo (09/08/2017 01:49)
Free entry. The best museum at Surabaya. A fun place to kill an hour or so, offers a city tour for free! We can learn about the history of Surabaya throughout this city tour. And this place also have a cigarette museum. If you visit this place at weekdays you are able to see how the workers there rolling cigarettes and its packaging process.

Javier S (28/06/2017 06:19)
The museum and gallery is free to enter, and you should go in the museum first. The smell of cloves will be very strong in there and their collection is authentic, a must see. If you can, come in advance to book a tour bus (for free) to tour around some interesting places in the city, as it is often full.

Nita Indriani (10/06/2017 06:59)
Somehow I like it. The old fashioned ambience are intriguing and the smell of clove will welcome you straight from the door. The museum is small but it's a good place to hang around with a small group, and they have good café behind.

Andrew Quay Abdullah (07/06/2017 04:46)
We were there on the city's free guided tour. It was a beautiful, grand and majestic place and I would recommend going with a guide like we did as he explained all the inner workings and history associated with the place. Definitely a place to visit when in Surabaya INDONESIA.

Lya Alatas (03/05/2017 20:28)
Beautiful place with loads of educational message about tobacco and cigarette industry history in Indonesia. Taking place in a colonial complex, try their unique foods and beverages in A Cafe.
Anyway, it's not recommended for children or pregnant women or ones who have sensitivity to tobacco due to it's very strong smell and fume inside the museum. Or maybe try to be quick in viewing the museum inside. I was getting dizzy after an hour of tobacco fume exposure. Well it depends individually though.

Rama Adhitia (02/05/2017 00:44)
The museum was well maintained. Lots of well educated museum guide available to explain about sampoerna history. The air in the museum has a rather strong smell of tobacco and cloves. There is a cafe in the complex that many people recommend. Along there is still operational small cigarette factory inside the building, really cool!!!

Daor Syafi'i (23/04/2017 21:36)
Nice place. Bisa menjadi salah satu tujuan wisata sejarah. Memberikan sentuhan klasik modern. Cukup informatif dalam merepresentasikan sejarah perkembangan rokok di Indonesia.

travenesia (23/04/2017 16:11)
From a small cart to a huge company. This place tells us many untold stories. Everything is inside, premium cigarette with genuine way to distribute. Classic interior design makes it perfect combination with the smell of cloves and tobaccos!

Dea Aulia Kartini (22/03/2017 03:01)
Nice place! They have their own guides to telling you the beginning story of Sampoerna cigarettes company. In weekdays, there are cigarettes workers inside the museum. They use the old machine to make the cigarettes. You will smell the strong tobacco smell.

niko herjuno (15/03/2017 15:29)
It offers you some historical places to learn about cigarette industry and some of its tools, distribution of industry. The place itself sometimes hard to find if you are newcomers but the decorations is unique. Having warm temperatured-like view style. Good place for learning and taking some photos

Ignatius Hans (04/03/2017 04:09)
Very unique place. It let us see and learn the history of sampoerna. Who are they and how they come to be. Entry fee for the museum ad art gallery is free. There is a free local tour too at 9 am, 1 pm and 3 pm. Reservations is needed before hand. Either call or come early as there is limited seating.

Astrid Tjahyono (09/02/2017 20:35)
I love the atmosphere of the place. Must try the restaurant too! Went here twice, the second time I went there, I wasnt allowed to get in cos I was 17 even though my bday was 2 weeks away..

Fajar Sii (25/01/2017 01:54)
The romantic place for dinning and also suitable for hangouts with friends. If you're going here in the noon, then you will able enjoy the process of man-made cigarettes

Johannes Flintholm (20/01/2017 14:23)
Very authentic place from the colonial period.
The museum is small but leaves a good impression.
Remember to go to the trendy cafe with cool surroundings.

Lachlan Wood (04/01/2017 12:06)
Good little museum. So interesting to see the workers making cigarettes, they are so fast. Best of all the museum is free!

Benedicto Sunyoto (20/11/2016 04:15)
Interesting Place. You can learn some of the history of Sampoerna Cigarettes. The place it smells nice because of the Spices that they mix in the cigarettes.

V360 Media (04/10/2016 03:31)
Love the place! do make sure to ask for a tour guide, worth listening!

michelle agatha (04/08/2016 07:07)
Free museum I ever been! If you're smoker and or fan of Sampoerna, you should visit House of Sampoerna.
You could see history the man behind "Sampoerna", cigs maker tools, their marching band, etc.
Or looking for "A mild" shirt? You can find it out here!
Highly recommended visit on weekdays, because you could see cigarettes making process. Sadly, I came on weekend. Please remind you're not allowed taking photograph of this process.

Andi Tama (14/05/2016 19:41)
Interesting place. My advice is visit at Sunday. You'll get more interesting. Just try

Alexander Daniel Suradja (09/05/2016 08:35)
Great experience looking at antiques and Sampoerna's history. Sometimes you can see the ladies producing the cigarettes here in the museum. Very clean, nicely maintained, and well staffed.

Novia Minarsih (12/04/2016 15:27)
I like the museum, but also like the cafe name A Cafe, the place very cozy and they have delicious food. Good to eat for couple, family,or group. With slow instrumental music, the place very romantic.
