Tempat ini dipelihara dengan baik. Di dalamnya banyak informasi edukasi tentang tsunami, and doing a good job as a reminder on how powerful the Aceh tsunami was. This huge floating power plant must weigh thousands of tonnes, and the tsunami moved it 3 KM away from where it berthed

The story of how the boat got here is 10x more interesting than going through the actual boat, which itself is only as fun as it sounds. Thankfully the only thing it will cost you is about 15 minutes of your life, or about 1/4 of an episode of GoT.

The power of the creator... it travelled 7.5km before coming to rest

PLTD Apung 1 is an electric generator ship in Banda Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia that has become a tourist attraction. The 2,600 ton vessel had been in the sea and was flung 2 to 3 kilometres inland by the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami. Wikipedia

Nice museum. Because of the tsunami they became a museum as a tribute memorial for the tsunami accident. It belongs to daerah istimewa aceh. When you visit aceh you should visit the place and see the history.

Very worth to visit. This is a diesel power plant ship weighted of 2,600 ton dragged by tsunami as far as 5 km away to this current place. Inside you will find the galery of history of the event.

The Monument's Gallery features the most comprehensive description of the quake and ensuing Tsunami of 26 Dec 2004. Amazing how an offshore electric generator traveled 5 km inland and "parked" itself at the present site. Must visit and try the coffee at site

The former floating power plant, washed ashore miles into Banda Aceh during 2004 Aceh tsunami, is established as a museum when local government rejected the plan to recommission it.

Amazing travel spot for traveller, to know what is a Floating Diesel Power Plant and how can it was 'washed away' so far to mainland by the tsunami

It's a huge metal boat have been push to the shore 2.5 km during 2004 Tsunami. Now transfer to a park and tourism place, free of charge.
I respect the religion. But close 2 hours in noon time, and close at 4PM again for prey. Really bad experiences for visitors.

The remaining left from the Tsunami attacked and brought to the inner land.
Now serving as a place for education and tourist visit inside and outside.
And as its original creation, it still supply electricity to the nearby community.
The monument at the entrance indicates the height of wave stroke and the inscription and carving depicts the moment of the time, the Tsunami brought the flood.
The mosque was still in bricks when I visited in year 2014, and also year 2015.
But now, even though still in construction, we saw the domes and the Islamic symbol of spirits.
There are tourist guides could be hired for touring on site.
But unfortunately for my visit this time, they cloae from 1200am to 1400pm for praying.
And there will be announcer for visitors to leave near by noon.

This is a reminder of the tsunami hitting Banda Aceh when this huge floating power generator was swept and landed on top of the city - great work's been done to turn it into a monument - and now there's a museum inside which doubles as an educational point for tsunami preparedness - overall the storytelling is good, maybe better than the Museum Tsunami.

A nicely managed monument. The government bought the surrounding lands to tell more stories about the tsunami.
