for the first time here.
good ambience, design, area, neighborhood (near to cafe's, traditional market)
friendly staffs.
but, the parking lot if you brought a car it's so small and it's an open area.
we cannot early check in.
the aircon didn't work so well.
the noise from outside your room pretty much heard.

I had the best experience at this hotel.
It's a different kind of hotel. Their green concept is well executed.
The room is good and clean. The bathroom is the same.
I tried the restaurant which is called the Art Kitchen. F&B taste good and well presented.
Unfortunately I only stayed for one night. I'll stay here again next time I go to Yogyakarta.
Of course I'll recommend this hotel to my colleagues.

Top notch boutique hotel with an amazing pool in the middle of the courtyard. The staff were accomodating and the room service is available 24 hours.
Cons
1.Very few iron so had to wait for other customers to return before we can use.
2. 100K deposit for extra room card

Vehicle access is quite hard due to small road access to the hotel.
Interior of the hotel is quite dark with a natural light from the open rooftop. Lobby area is have a quite "cheap" design due to the usage of used pine wood. Room is clean but the design of the room have the quality of a budget hotel (from my design perspective, some budget hotel have a better interior design).
Breakfast buffet is delicious and lots of variety. Room service is good and fast. People in the hotel is very friendly.
Overall, it's a good boutique hotel that suits people that support carbonless movement.

Eco concept hotel and it's full of plants. You can find a pool in the middle. It provide a cafe in the top near hydroponic garden. I havent had chance to see the room and stay there but the meeting room is quite cozy (fit for 15 people). For my, i like the food they serve and the staffs are friendly. The alleyway is too narrow.

This modern hotel is a reasonable deal for the money, and the included breakfast is spectacular - a huge, fresh, enormously varied spread of sweet and savory, omnivore and vegetarian, western and local. There’s omelets to order, a juicing station, cereal, coffee, seven different kinds of dinner dishes for breakfast, waffles, local pastries, green and purple sweet hot Asian breakfast porridge, and lots of it changes every day. The best hotel breakfast I’ve had in Asia or Australia, by far. Don’t miss it.
The room I had was small but well featured, with a good bed and good hot water.
Why only 3 stars?
If you’re sensitive to strong perfumes and air fresheners - or even if you’re not - you may have a *really* hard time here. The powerful scent of lemon grass (citronella) scented, electronically dispensed air fresheners installed in the lobby, the elevators and a similar essential oil-and-stick air freshener in the room was overpowering and unpleasant. From earlier experiences in Australian air bnbs that were packed with obnoxious air fresheners I had a fresh ziploc bag with me and I sealed the room air freshener shut in that as soon as I checked in. After a day the room smelled more normal.

We had a really nice stay at Greenhost. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable and the overall vibe of the hotel was cool. My girlfriend and I both had 90 minute massages at the spa which were good but nothing special. The staff was friendly and were quick to help. I would have given 5 stars but the food at the restaurant was mediocre and I think I got bit by more mosquitos at the hotel than the rest of my trip.

Four star hotel but taste like two star hotel. The towels are not white, it's gray-ish. The foods are so-so.

Such a nice eco friendly hotel. Kind and helpful staff, good food. However not many irons provided so i had to wait to borrow it.

Nice concept with green garden. The room quite spacious and the location is great. Breakfast is standard but they serve vegetarian food
Imam Santosa (02/09/2017 23:33)
Their industry themed architectural building is very amusing. Their green lifestyle concept is well suited with the local cultures. Their food are excellent. Definitely a cozy place to stay. Try to visit their green garden at the roof top.

Looked good but experience did not live up to the hype. Instead of staying, enjoy a cup of coffee or a bottle of beer at the cafe. Stay at Adhisthana Hotel instead - cheaper, with a more accommodating staff.
Indri Novianty (19/08/2017 11:44)
Nice budget hotel, lil bit dark at night though.
Their art restaurant serve pretty wide range of food, from traditional indonesian to vegan food. The atmosphere in the restaurant is also very comfortable and you can enjoy the unique sights of the plants and the artwork hanged around the walls of the restaurant

I really wanted to like this hotel. It makes a good attempt at blending creativity and environmental awareness. It has a cool garden upstairs, but it was off limits so we couldn't see very much... My biggest complaint is that this hotel was dishonest in providing its guests with facilities it advertises. Apparently people can reserve the pool for themselves so that all of the other guests who paid to stay at this hotel are not allowed to swim in the pool. Who knows what other amenities the Greenhost Boutique Hotel will sell off to the highest bidder? Also, the bathroom doors were very flimsy and were difficult to open and close. Rooms were basic, but the wood style didn't feel very comfortable. On a positive note, the staff were very nice. Overall, the hotel falls very short at providing a comfortable experience for it's guests. There are many better hotels in the Prawirotaman area.

An eco-friendly hotel that really care about sustainability. The walls made from concrete and paint free (outdoor area), so many plants form a hanging garden, so it's so green in every corner of this hotel. They have own hydroponics garden in the upper floor. Nice room concept. Just perfect.
Novita Afriana (29/06/2017 05:24)
nice architect n green environment located in d mid of the city .. eventhough the hotel price was going twice in lebaran day 😁

Lovely and pleasant place to stay. Room a bit small but clean and cosy.
Friendly and helpful staffs. A lot of greens around the interior part of the hotel.

The place is beautifull. Room is uniquely and nicely decorated. Food is good too.
Jeho Rahm (23/03/2017 21:05)
Hotel with a beautiful concept. I like the wooden elevator. It's just the bathroom is too simple designed. But everything is fine.
Dian Ramadhani (15/03/2017 21:22)
I love this place. It's an eco-friendly hotel. So you wouldn't find the 'eco-cost luxuries' you usually find in regular hotels. Such as in-room refrigerator or air-conditioned lobby. Instead, you'd be surprise with their well-ventilated lobby.
Thomas Seifert (20/02/2017 11:08)
Hipster-Heaven. Wonderful open-air and still indoor pool. The building is concrete but there are plants everywhere. Looks like the hanging gardens... Nice restaurant on the ground floor, hipster bar on the top-floor. SPA and other amenities. Thumbs up.
Nik Hariff (08/02/2017 13:59)
Great eco friendly hotel. Central to the attractions and lovely staff making it a pleasure to stay.
Kaizel Mendoza (01/02/2017 10:47)
the location is in touristic area where you can find heaps of hotels, spas, restaurants and souvenir shops. you can also already see the greenery on the outside based on it's hotel name. it is really good to see the pot plants however we were worried of mosquitos because of it, but thankfully there were not a lot, but you should be prepared, like wear pants specially if you are downstairs having dinner. Their food is awesome, in reasonable price, good quality, nice presentation, everything is worth the try and ur tummy will never be disappointed. try the "lady green" drink, it tastes so refreshing and healthy. the rooms are different from each other, i meant the interior design of the rooms, the same but differs on how the windows look like. our family stayed here and we were in 4 different rooms and we ofcourse visited each room and we found out they're all different. room offers free toiletries, total of 4 pillows, strong dispossable slippers. wifi is great too. friendly receptionists and they communicate very well. porters and staff in the parking area are also very welcoming and friendly. overall stay - very satisfied :)

the hotel has a unique concept and has a big room. you can visit the hydroponic garden at the rooftop.
it is really beautiful at morning and noon, but looks like a prison at night, but still looks cool. I do really enjoy staying at this hotel with my friends
Paul Landgraver (16/11/2016 12:37)
The hotel is interesting architecture to see. But when actually used it let's down. The rooms are small, but made more confusingly small and cheap by the use of plywood. Many doors in public and private spaces are sliding, but without handles. The use of plants throughout is impressive. The open spaces feel nice, but the polished cement throughout makes it feels devoid of character. The food is quite simply trying too hard to be hip.
A whole star is lost by the restaurant claiming to be vegan on many dishes. Featuring many animal products, the food is not vegan...not even close. They simply don't know what the word means and aim for hip over quality.

For fans of AADC2, this hotel is a must visit. But aside from that, it has minimalist, industrial design with, true to its name, a little greenhouse on the rooftop. Service is excellent, room is rather small, but clean and the bed is comfortable. The bathroom door is a sliding nightmare and could somebody put a blind on the glass window and an exhaust fan.
Matteo Giona (16/08/2016 05:22)
Very interesting architecture. The costumer Service was friendly and Very Kind! We have paied a lots for a Wine Balinese testing of The roof terrace But The owner maybe was difference than The hotel services ! The hotel is Very cheap and The room Small But Clean and confortable.

Quite fancy about interior, good breakfasts taste, friendly staff and its one of the most famous hotel arround Yogyakarta because AADC (the movie that using this hotel for actor and actress)
sergio andino (26/07/2016 06:36)
The interior design was a simple industrial design, the floor was clean and always clean. They have the right comfy bed, clean water, warm and good lighting, and their serving was awesome. They can provide you some boxes, tape, and scissor so you can pack you souvenirs with no worry entering the airport.
Monika Anindyka (25/06/2016 08:09)
This hotel nuanced with plants (in pots) and abstract painting. Perfect for feeling refreshing. The room have unique wooden furniture. A bit disappointed about the bathroom because there no separation between the wet area and the dry area even though it have a big enough room.

The green plants wall showing on the internet is missing. It is just pipe everywhere.... And the room.. Feels like you are in a bunker or something.... So-so service.. Stay here if you are bored with common hotel room
Cornellia Widiastuti (02/01/2016 06:09)
The building is 1year old so it's still new, fresh and well-designed. The facilities are still good (I use "still" because it's showing a sign of decay). The employees need more training (or they need to add more employees). The receptionist can't find my friend's booking and took a long time to finally find it. Inconsistencies of bedroom utilities in each room. Breakfast was chaotic. I have to clean my own table, get my own salt and pepper, even when I ask something they didn't give it to me. Parking is a bit inconvenience as well. The hotel is located behind a traditional marketplace so they are closing the road for cars from 5-11am. But for a new hotel, it's great. But the Devils are indeed in the details.
