Traditional Singkawang cuisine, shaped like dumplings the filing varies from : chives (kucai) and yam (bengkoang, talas). They can produce approximately 1k dumplings each day. Very tasty and price worthy. Definitely should come here if you visit Singkawang. Old and young age like this dishes. the place next to Perkumpulan Marga Tjia heritage house. During days, the temperature quite hot so be prepare to sweat during eating. The inside of chives dumpling has tofu too which is smart variation to me

Located in Traditional Area which is one of tourist attraction in Singakawang City. They served vegetables dumplings which well known as Choi Pan, which also means "Vegetables Cake" with some variant such as stir fried jicama with small dried prawn, stir fried chives with white tofu and stir fried bamboo shoot as the fillings of the dumplings. Eat them with special spicy homemade chilli sauce! Once the dumpling enters your mouth, it feels like it melts inside the mouth. So tasty yet affordable!

If you enjoy dumplings then this restaurant is the best place to come to try. You have the choice of chives or bamboo shoots and they are both delicious. If you like traditional dumplings then you will enjoy these a lot. You can enjoy cool drinks such as the local Root Beer or Orange drink.
This restaurant is quite historical as it has been around since 1902 and is near the water so can be cool.

honestly, I've heard about this place for a long time, I thought it'd be awesome.. but no.. the food is okay but the service is actually terrible.. terrible.. really.. but it's still crowded

I want to eat choi pan here because so popular. But i have to wait at least 2 hours. So i cancelled to eat choi pan and just take pic at Marga Tjhia house

Big size, clean area if you want to dine in, but don't have parking area for the car, just only for motorcycle. The price is IDR 2000/piece

Reservation one day in advance is a MUST! Extremely crowded during the high season...even with reservation you'll still need to wait to be served...but it is worth it..steaming piping hot Choi Pan is one of the local delicacies...
