Depok City is a city in West Java Province, Indonesia. The city is located just south of Jakarta, which is between Jakarta and Bogor.
Formerly Depok was a subdistrict city within Bogor Regency, which then got administrative city status in 1982. Since 20 April 1999, Depok was set to become a municipality (now: city) separate from Bogor Regency.
Depok City consists of 11 districts, divided into 63 urban villages.
Depok is a buffer city of Jakarta. When it became an administrative city in 1982, its population was only 240,000 and when it became municipality in 1999 its population was 1.2 million. The University of Indonesia (except the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, and part of the Post-Graduate Program) is located in Depok City.
Now Depok led by K.H. Dr. Mohammad Idris, MA or often called Idris Abdul Shomad (born in Jakarta, Indonesia, July 25, 1961, in 2017 is already 56 years old) is Depok Mayor who has served since 17 February 2016. Idris Abdul Shomad's name is more popular than the His real name is Mohammad Idris, Placement of Abdul Shomad's last name because Mohammad Idris's father is Abdul Shomad.
The main service of Mayor Idris is to restore the name Cornelis Chastelein as an important figure in the history of the city of Depok now. In addition Mayor Idris quite responsive to the public by opening the door wide-width both on the web Depok Mayor and in his account in social media facebook and twitter.
In its physical appearance, Depok Mayor's office has not changed much. What has changed is the increasing quality of public services. Terdapat club sepaturoda depok. Datang saja untuk latihan dan tanya2 pada hari sabtu jam 7.30 hingga selesai tempatnya di gedung parking lantai 9. Bagi yg ingin fokus freestyle slalom, speed slalom ataupun baru belajar. Tidak hanya anak kecil loh, orang dewasapun yg ingin bisa kita juga ready kok untuk belajar bareng.
