Lovely staff and well tended spacious gardens. Rooms a little dated and plain but perfectly adequate. Nice pool area and good beach for swimming when the tide is in. Several restaurants on site, one right on the beach. All inclusive package on offer, very convenient and good value by western standards, although expensive for Bali.

My family and I stayed in a family room at this hotel. The room was two floors with a staircase leading up to the master bedroom and bathroom. The bottom floor has 2 twin size beds with its own TV and bathroom. However the only shower is on the second floor. The room also has a patio that looks over a private pool and a lot of trees. The people here are very friendly and easy to talk to. Most of the staff members look forward to meeting new people and making friends

Stayed as a member of ‘the level’ and it was brilliant!!! I loved every second of my stay and wish we could’ve stayed longer than a week. Staff were beyond amazing. Breakfast was excellent, choice of restaurants is good and the level pool was the ultimate chill away from the main resort pool. Can’t wait to go back one day!

Beautiful place supported by amazing staff and fantastic food. We stayed for our honeymoon and received a free room upgrade. The greeting to the hotel started with dancers, music and warming pleasant conversation. This level of service continued throughout our stay. Would stay again and would recommend to anyone.

Nice hotel, but I was expecting a little bit more from 5 stars hotel. The beach and especially the water was very dirty. The staff do not do a lot of effort to clean from any plastic bags, cups etc. And I found the presence of all selling people a bit disturbing especially vs. the absence of the hotel waiters

Beautiful area with great and super friendly staff. My only gripe is the lack of consistency in the bar and the quality of the food. The nightly buffets were to die for but any of the meals ordered from the restaurants were subpar and not worth the prices they're asking for them

We stayed here for our honeymoon unfortunately, we experienced horrible service, I waited for 30 minutes for a drink, also they didn't have coconut water for 2 days!!! It's an island how do you run out of coconuts??? On another day my husband and I ordered lunch from the restaurant by the beach, his lunch was delivered and I had to wait 40 minutes for mine after his! I odered a sandwich. Also the room wasn't cleaned for days I asked 3 different people to come clean the room everyone said yes and no one came! And lastly when we checked out no one asked us how our stay was. I mean that's basic. We did the all inclusive, so lots of money. I would definitely not recommend this place.

Had a great 3 nights with my spouse and two kids here. We had booked a room on the new Laguna pool which wraps itself around two of the buildings - really nice to drop out of bed straight into the pool. And not as crowded as the big pool.
We had the all inclusive package and I feel that it was definitely worth it for the period we were there. There is a wide selection of drinks and a whole lot of food choices. Wines were not included in the package which might seem strange at first but as they have to import all their wines, it makes sense. The Spanish restaurant did have a few good wines as part of the AI package so you can just eat there ;-)
Staff was very friendly and the room was clean and beds were very comfortable.
Only downside might be the scale of things. A lot of people in the pool, hard to get a bed and with an all-you-can-drink environment, you might get the odd drunk in the pool.

Spent 7 nights as a family with a 2 year old and had one of the most enjoyable holidays. Stayed at the family room and the lagoon access suite which were both good. Service, Staff, Rooms, Pool, Restaurants all top class!!! Plenty of daily activities as well. Highly recommended. Bonus the beds are super big and super comfy.

Different flowers in the pool every single day? Check. Staff remembering your favorite drink? Check. Coconuts with your name embedded in them? Check. A butler so discreet you just see her in the cookies and perfectly planned days she organizes? Check.
My daughters spent days taking photographs on the many corners of the hotel, their beautifully kept grounds where frangipanes reign supreme and the pools, gardens and restaurants that while not new are kept impeccable by the most gracious staff!
My only criticism is that they should stop the Firedancers on the show from spiting gasoline. While the show is impressive this act is bad for the dancers health. Keep the show, stop swilling gasoline.
I spent 15 days in Bali and 5 days at the Meliá Bali, while the other days where spent at 2 different villas. My hotel stay was way superior! I will be back!

Amazing place! :) Wonderful room with garden and private swimming pool. Close to the sea. Many restaurants with delicious food. I love it!
Catherine Shields (04/11/2017 07:03)
Fantastic hotel and service. Staff are very attentive and on hand to help. Great sea front location with plenty of places to eat on site and a short walk from the Bali Collection with even more food choice. Can't fault it!

Simply AMAZING hotel! Stayed in April 2017 as all inclusive guests. Could not fault the staff at all who go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Food and drinks all first class. How anyone can complain about the quality of food and service here is beyond me. Kids club was fantastic with all the girls so friendly and welcoming to the kids. Spa experiences were excellent. We can't wait to return!

One of the best places for families! The beach is safe, secluded & quiet, good for your lil ones. Food fantastic & lots of retaurants to choose from, activities & food all inclusive like a club med, oh did i mention a beautiful spa retreat for mums & dads too! Just a fantastic holiday destination!!
Jeremy Ng (02/09/2017 09:33)
Stayed here two nights. Nice rooms fitting for the price paid. The 🏨 hotel has 5 restauranta within the grounds so meals are always conveniently available! Prices are decent too.
This resort is great for families and we noticed many were staying here. There are beach activities organised for the kids. Perhaps not the best resort for a romantic getaway but we liked it all the same.

The best place even in the paradise of Bali, with a beautiful garden, an excellent beach and pools, a relaxing spa, well educated staff full of hospitality and good restaurants. Close to the mall "Bali Collection" (5min walk without sécu problems even at night) where you can find many nice shops and restaurants too. Perfect!

Beautiful location mixed from a luxurious beach to the beautiful tropical greenery, located next to a big shopping complex. Rooms were neat, convenient and still had the beautiful Balinese style. Service was great, all staff were friendly. Had dinner at sakura, was the best sushi I've ever had.
Marn-Yee Lee (08/07/2017 03:26)
Nice lagoon access room with good sized bathroom, comfortable bed for adult, children sleep area in the same floor, and direct access from balcony to lagoon pool. Superb staff, very friendly, go out of their way to please and make you feel relaxed on your vacation. All inclusive package is expensive but makes stay much more relaxing.
Restaurants are beautiful, comfortable and have large menu, but cooking and food quality needs to be improved tremendously. Booking dinner seats in advance guarantees good seats (e.g. tatami room in Lotus is great for family with small children, also beach side seating at Sateria is so worth it).
Really loved the staff. They try hard to make our vacation relaxing, and they work hard to keep the grounds beautiful. The garden setting accompanied by piped Balinese tunes is a nice touch.
Come prepared with mosquito repellant and use it, esp on the evening strolls. Resort does spraying twice a week to control this vector, but this is the tropics.
Nice pool for families. Its central location, by the spa, the kids club, and near the beach, makes it very convenient. If you're lucky (and early), you will snag the coconut leaf roofed gazebo by the pool that's really comfortable to spend a day in. Our 2 year old even napped in it, and it's central pool location makes it easy for us to manage the kids and get some relaxation in.

Overall a great place to stay! The pros: beautiful atmosphere; very clean; kind, friendly, and attentive staff; big pool; clean beach; lots of activities available; good gym. The cons: crowded (visited at the end of June so not quite peak season but getting close); long lines for items in the breakfast buffet and much of the food was cold by the time it was ready to be eaten; tough to find available loungers at the pool and at the beach; restaurants are overpriced for what you get. Much of the cons can be explained due to the time of year we visited and the nature of a higher end resort. By no means a deal breaker for us but worth mentioning to those considering the Melia.
Rhys Adams (29/05/2017 21:12)
What a fantastic hotel, from the minute we got there we were treated like royalty. The place is truly amazing.
The rooms themselves were to a high standard, we didn't have a basic room but the one up. Air con worked a treat and we needed it.
Facilities were excellent, we only went for the breakfast only option but there is an option to upgrade to all inclusive. We worked this out to be very expensive, so we ate at the very local mall where we could get 2 courses and drinks for two for less than £25.
Would highly recommend this resort.

Melia Bali is one of the best 5 stars hotel in Bali. It's vintage design reminds you of Balinese oldstyle.
Natalie Wischer (19/05/2017 13:07)
Wow! This place is amazing. An upgrade to the villa was a delightful surprise and I loved and appreciated everything the staff did. All the small touches, the daily gifts, the timed cleaning service, the beautiful breakfasts and the surroundings.
I do to recommend that if you are travelling without kids, you should book the Level package. The quiet pool, beach area and extra drinks, food and service is every bit worth it. I also want to mention the wonderful service by a young employ Darma who always greeted everyone with a smile and a chat. He was a charming young man with a big future ahead of him. All the staff were lovely from garden staff, cleaners, wait staff and gym staff. It seems that nothing was too hard for them.
Thank you for making my stay memorable and perfect and I look forward to returning for a bit of R&R on my next work trip and hope to bring a few hundred delegates with the next conference I organise.
Melia Gardens Resort - you are 5 star!

Great location in front of the beach and very convenient for spanish groups & events. Excellent service, good rates, nice swiming pool and quality food. I would suggest the rooms located by the swiming pool with direct access in the lower floor.
Lynn Wong (18/03/2017 15:59)
Stayed here with The Level access which gives you some perks (private breakfast, private pool and beach area, some drinks at the club, limited laundry etc) and it was of reasonable value.
General:
Hotel is of the manicured garden variety, quite well maintained but there are admittedly here and there. Didn't affect us (Level penthouse room) but it did mean we saw the odd giant moth and cockroach on the ground floor.
Rooms:
Looks a little old but not in dire need of renovation. Generally clean, stairs for the penthouse is steep and definitely not recommended for those with children or elderly. Only one proper bathroom upstairs though there was a small water closet on the ground floor. Can be quite dark - realised only half way through trip that it's because a light had blown. Replacement didn't happen throughout entire trip in spite notifying concierge.
Beach;
Largely clean with good sand quality and alright view. Level had a private beach area with free drinks but generally it's not spectacular.

Excellent service, good food, good rooms, nice garden, beach and pools. Many interesting activities inside hotel. Close to the airport and many other restaurants. Many of them offer free pickup and dropoff.

Fantastic all inclusive resort.
We stayed for a week and it was amazing. Room was modern, clean and comfortable. Air conditioning worked amazing. 24 hr room service.
The breakfast is good. The Japanese restaurant Sakura is the real highlight however, absolutely fantastic.
Great pool and beach area with amazingly attentive staff just waiting to bring you a fresh cocktail or chicken burger.

We stayed in a premium lagoon access suite with an all inclusive package. The restaurants were all impressive, the room was clean and well stocked, the beach was a easy 3 minute walk from the room and the main pool even closer.
Cannot recommend Melia Bali enough.

This is a fantastic hotel. We had Level access and it was excellent. Separate pool, beach area with free water and afternoon tea. Also access to the Level lounge with free alcoholic drinks from 5-8. The ground floor rooms have been repainted and like some without Level access have direct access to a lagoon pool. Also you can have breakfast in a separate air conditioned restaurant. They even come around and clean your sunglasses! But the real stars here are the service and the staff. They are professional but very friendly and approachable. They are excellent at looking for things that are wrong and sorting them before you mention them. We are now checking for more Melia hotels closer to the UK with the same facilities. Highly recommended for a luxury resort experience.

I LOVE the view.
It has private beach.
Food is excellent.
I love the architecture!
I love the arts in this hotel.
Excellent facilities!

Melia Bali offers the best hospitality that I've ever experienced. The attention to detail is impeccable. The staff remembers your name and drink selection after only one introduction. The ground are beautiful and the pools and beaches are tranquil. I'd highly recommend the Level Lagoon Access Suite.

One of the most amazing resorts I've stayed in.
From check-in to check-out the staff in the resort are the most welcoming and friendly people you could want for a holiday, where everything you need is catered for.
The room was absolutely beautiful and maintained every single day, and the pool was lovely to cool down from the blazing sun.
The variety of restaurants and bars was perfect, it catered for many different tastes and had a large, varied selection. All of the food was prepared to a very high standard, and the service staff were very attentive.
Abdulrahman Kassem (15/09/2016 07:40)
Great hotel. But old-fashioned. And I hope that room service will work more on cleaning rooms. I really liked how friendly the staff was.

Love the atmosphere and aura around this hotel, it is one of the older places, but what a classic place to stay, right on the beach, and such a lovely array of pools. Plenty of choice with restaurants to suit most tastes, our 2nd visit and their will be more. The greatest asset the hotel has is undoubtedly its wonderful staff, from topm to bottom, everyone gains your respect, with the enthusiastic way they go about their daily duties. I just love it here

David Snower (01/08/2016 01:09)
While facilities or decor are not top-end, everything works and it is good value. The beach and pool area are nice (though the sea is very shallow here). Breakfast got a bit boring. Did the job of giving us a comfortable place to relax and soak up some sun, but don't expect to be blown away by the hotel itself.
Eddy Chandra (25/07/2016 16:29)
good price resort hotel. check more reviews in Tripadvisor.
Nice set of pools and right next to the beach. It is not that crowded.
I agreed with some reviews that this hotel has the best garden/pool set in the Nusa Dua area.
Be careful with Family room that has the main bed and bath on the upper floor as the stairs are a bit steep for younger kids or older folks. Also this room types are of older (not renovated yet) that some of them have AC that is not working properly. you will definitely need AC as Bali in general is very very humid.
Christopher Gw (14/04/2016 04:22)
Rooms a bit musty and a bit of a walk to the nice part of the beach further south. Lovely gardens, excellent service and breakfast. Close to Bali Collection for shopping and food.
