We were a family of 4 who had a good reflexology & staff were friendly (in the beginning). When the session ended, we gave 20,000 ruppiah (1 USD) to each staff. As me & my mum had an urgent nature, we rush to the toilet. My aunt gives an account of what had happened in the massage room after we both left for toilet. She said my uncle's masseur was unhappy with the tipping and expressed that it wasn't enough to cover a meal. He then requested for 50,000 ruppiah (3.5 USD) ! My uncle was nice enough to give it to him. This kicks off a chain reaction. My aunt's masseur was obviously jealous about it and also demanded 50,000 ruppiah. We had just arrived in Batam and do not have enough small change. Once again, my Mr Nice Guy uncle get back his 50,000 ruppiah and gave 100,000 ruppiah to his masseur and asked him to share with my aunt's masseur. But they did not return the initial 20,000 ruppiah that was initially given to them. So in total they receive 70,000 ruppiah (5 USD)! The massage is only 1.5hrs costing 210,000 ruppiah (15 USD), mind you. Don't tell me they eat 70,000 worth of food for a meal! Then my mum's and my masseur were obviously jealous again. They chose to attack my uncle again just because he is an easy target! Asking for the same tipping amount but this time my uncle ignore them. It's simply too much. Even in Bangkok (slightly higher living standard than Batam, we tipped about 100 baht (3 USD) for a 2 hrs massage. Even in Malaysia, for an hr foot reflexology, we usually tip about 5 ringgit (1.5 USD) and if it's really very good, we will tipped 10 ringgit (3.5 USD). If it's so costly for tipping, I might as well travel to neighbouring Johor Bahru which cost to nothing in terms of traveling. Why bother to purchase a ferry ticket which costs 30 USD?! Avoid this place like a plague!

Just been there over the weekend. Nice & clean, but the the water pressure in the shower room is too low. Other than that the message is good. Staff are friendly and the ambience is good. Price is reasonable. Will definitely go back the second time.

Indo Thai is a place you should not miss if you are looking for a great relaxtation. The place offers a variety of massage and spa. The staffs are very friendly, even one helped to go all the way out to change local currency. Would definately recommend.

I had a aromatherapy oil massage in the morning with two other friends. We arrived in Batam during the Hari Raya weekend and realised that most massage parlours are closed. We had to make a booking for the morning on the last day of our trip. The massage is located quite deep within the residences sprawling, opposite the wet market and a 15 minutes walk from BCS mall. Overall, the massage was satisfactory. The masseur did use the right amount of strength and helped me with a sore shoulder. However, she was burping though out the massage and the massage room housed up to 10 customers with cloth blinds. This means that whenever customers enter, they make a ruckus and you can't really have a peace of mind. The masseur also did ask for a tip that kind of spoil the feeling of tipping. It's also in the mid-range pricing. There are much cheaper massages around the area like Universal Massage and Relax massage. So probably can look around for others. However, if you ask me, I won't be going back for the second time.
