This must be one of the best Greek islands, the old town of Rhodes has turned into a fantastic shopping and eating place with those fabulous castle walls surrounding it, it has a wonderful shore line with beaches just yards away, places to see as a must is butterfly valley, this really is a wonderful sight to see nature, another is lyndos a small village at the far end with ancient monuments high above, we were there on a cruise, the oceana, the port and other cruise ships were quite a sight in itself

Rhodes, the largest of Greeceās Dodecanese islands, is known for its beach resorts, ancient ruins and remnants of its occupation by the Knights of St. John during the Crusades. The city of Rhodes has an Old Town featuring the medieval Street of the Knights and the castlelike Palace of the Grand Masters. Captured by the Ottomans and then held by the Italians, the palace is now a history museum.

Spend a week there ( old town of Rhodes) and had a wounderful time. Traveled the whole island, 2013. My only complaint is the place we rented was a bit pricey ( 1650 euros for 6 nights) and was located across the red light district.
However the place was very clean and no problems from across the street. 99% of the locals were extremely kind and professional.
The food was excellent throughout the island. We ate 3 meals a day at various restaurants. My hat off to all of them.
