I think this is the most quiet lake in Bali, nice place for camping, and there is jungle tracking. For the jungle tracking it is Rp. 350.000/group include guide and canoeing in the lake (Wow so cheap).
Entrance fee is Rp. 5.000/pax for domestic and Rp. 25.000/pax for international.
No additional charge for camping here 😉

Tamblingan Lake is a lake located on the northern slope of Mount Dimples, Munduk Village area, District Banjar, Buleleng, Bali. This lake is one of three twin lakes that formed in a large caldera. The east row are Lake Buyan and Lake Beratan. Flanked by the surrounding forest and because it is located in the highlands makes it cool temperate lake environment. To reach the lake can pass route Denpasar – Singaraja. After the road began to climb turn left at the village of Pancasari. Next trip will pass through the village of Wanagiri and Munduk. On the way, travelers will also pass Lake Buyan. On the way to the lake, tourists can see how beautiful this lake. The tourists who want to see the lake view from the top can be pulled over.
As one of the natural attractions, Lake Tamblingan not developed in the direction of modern tourism in order to preserve nature and the environment. Which became the main attraction of this place is not only its natural charm, but also because of the many temples that stores the history and development of civilization and culture of Bali in particular concerning the establishment and development of the village Tamblingan.
It is on purpose that Lake Tamblingan has not been developed for tourism activities in order to conserve its serenity and sustainability. Its local government bans all machine-driven transport on its waters. For this reason you will only find traditional rowing boats here which are tied to the shore. These are used to go fishing. When you visit the lake, do not forget to bring your camera to shoot this wonderful panorama. Alternately you can go trekking through tropical rainforests around this lake.
Comparing with other lakes in Bali, this lake is the smallest because only the surface area of 1.15 square kilometers. Although smaller than the other lakes, the lake offers beautiful views. Besides the atmosphere in the lake is also still natural. There was no motor boats are found in this lake. If you want to get around the lake, visitors can rent a small boat belonging to residents. It was told that in century 10M to 14M Tamblingan Lake neighborhood is residential center located in Mount Dimples south lake. For some reason the population then moved to four different areas that the distance is still adjacent to the lake area. Fourth village was then called the Village Chess, which means four villages namely: Munduk, Gobleg, Gesing, and Umejero. The four villages have a spiritual bond and have the responsibility and obligation to maintain the sanctity of the lake and the temple around him.
Tamblingan name comes from two words in Bahasa Bali, “Tamba” means drugs, and “Elingang” means memory or spiritual abilities. Told in Kanda Deity Purana Lontar Kutara Bangsul that people in the region is said to have exposed to the plague epidemic. As a way out someone who is purified and then down to the small lake at the bottom of the village to fetch water for the drug. Thanks to prayer and spiritual abilities he water was then used as a medicine and can cure the villagers. Tamba and Elingang said this is gradually becoming Tamblingan. Based on history, the water in the lake was once used by the saint to cure the plague that hit the region. Since that time, in the area of this lake stands many temples.

One the three lakes in Bedugul, conserved forest, Tamblingan temple
Lake Tamblingan is one the three lakes in Bedugul area, next to lake Buyan. It is around 20 minutes ride from Lake Bratan. Tamblingan is derived from Tamba (cure, heal) and Eling (spiritual awareness). Lake Tamblingan is a conserved area, surrounded by forest and bordered by mountains, very few development in the area, so do not expect the place to be a touristy places crowded with hotel, cafes and shops. There were almost none.
By the lake is the large three tower Tamblingan temple. An interesting architecture for photography, although the complex is a simple rectangle shaped temple walled with stone bricks. Regular visitors are prohibited to enter into the inner part of the temple. Beyond the lake to the mountain, there are over 10 temples including Pura Endek, Pura Sang Hyang Kawuh, Pura Tirta Mengening, Pura Naga Loka (dragon realms) and temples at the top of mountains.
The place has an air of being mystical.
Drawbacks : place is dirty, with plastic garbages and food wastes. The lakeshore is a swamp, not suitable for walking. Some teenagers use the plain grassland as motorbike trekking/racing track right in front of the main temple.
