Location is so so, you would need to rent and ride a moped everywhere, as taxis dont come to this location and uber/jack/grab/bluebird is not allowed by the taxi drivers. Difficult to communicate with some of the staff. Mosquito nets work only for the single beds and if you get a double bed, you will get bitten. They have 2 disabled pets, of which one is a blind dog. The dog smells badly and the staff keeps beating it. For surfing, there were no theory lessons, felt like i have improved very little in one week. Although, this camp is ok for people who have never surfed before. I continued staying because met cool people, otherwise would have booked another camp. Probably will not return.

Really nice surf camp in a quiet area of Canguu. Good facilities, nice pool, genuinely friendly surf guides and staff, tasty food from the kitchen, wide range of surf boards and you're able to hire a scooter. Big screen movie nights too which are cool. I've visited a number of times, the guides take you to good local spots aimed at your level, from beginner up to advanced, they help you get waves. The dorm is cosy, and Emut the dog is a sight to behold. In noticing the comment below regarding the senior surf guide, I'd like to respond with my support of the guide, having done many trips with him it is my opinion the accusation of harassment is totally wrong, and unfortunately must be a very bad mis-understanding by Hongqian. The guide is very professional, a really decent guy and I seriously doubt Hongqian's version of events. I would recommend this camp to any one of my female friends.

Great stay, we love the area of Canggu and that it is a quite beautiful place. Cool pool, excellent breakfast included, and very friendly staff. It was the perfect base for us to explore everything north-west from mainstream Kuta.

The surfing camp itself is excellent. The surfing guiding service is awesome. Recommend. However, to alert female travelers, be careful with one local senior surf guide at the camp. I had personally seen groping. A female friend also reported verbal sexual disturbance by him.

Such a cool place. The dorm is just amazing with comfy beds and really a lot of space. But what made my stay exceptional were the people I have met there and the very friendly staff. Thx guys

Beautiful surfcamp in a quiet part of canggu. Spent 5 days there and really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Staff was friendly and helpful. As a beginner I liked how they organized the surfguiding with different groups and picked spots that I could surf.

I visited the stormrider surfcamp earlier this year and totally enjoyed my stay at Arnds place. It's not exactly in the center of canggu tourism which makes the atmosphere more relaxed and not as noisy as in other parts of the village, which are just a 5 min scooter ride away. Assuming you might be interested in surfing, the next wave breaks just two minutes down the road. The staff is very courteous and always happy to help.
See you guys next time!

Thank you for a swell time. At first I wasn't sure if I should make a booking at a surf camp, but I don't regret it and met some of the nicest people and had a great time.

I've been planning this trip for quite a while, so I did a lot of research and didn't get disappointed. Tried to find a surf camp in a quieter place of Bali, which had quick access to some good spots. Turned out, the area around the camp in Canggu was even less crowded then I would've ever expected (in August!!!) Surf was great, daily trips, depending on swell size and wind. Staff was awesome. The in-house kitchen provided great and affordable food all day. I actually gained weight, although I surfed every day. If you're searching for a party camp, that's not the place to go, but if you're searching for eat, sleep, surf - you'll be just fine.

I really enjoyed my time at Stormrider. So much so that I spent most of my 8-week holiday here:)))
