Villa Sungai was absolutely perfect and amazing. Everything from the staff and service to the design and interior of the villa to the food...
The team really go above and beyond to make sure you have the most beautiful stay and get to relax. I loved the pool, the comfortable bed, the attention to detail everywhere. Most of all I have to recommend the service though. Made and his team did an excellent job and made sure I will definitely return on my next trip to Bali! Thank you all very much!

This is up there with one of the most beautiful, special, and relaxing places I have ever stayed at. The service was extremely attentive, and all the staff that worked there was lovely. The energy from the jungle and river was very powerful, and the rooms were very clean and had lovely thought-out decor. The food was also incredible, lots to choose from and I could tell it was cooked with love. I would recommend this villa to everyone, cannot wait to come back here!

We had 5 nights at GOLD and it really was the most wonderful experience. The villa is breathtaking. Nothing has been missed - it's true luxury in a very unique, peaceful setting. We enjoyed the food immensely and the service was so personal. We're already missing our lychee martinis at 5pm! The massages were also amazing. We'll be back.

The ambiance of this luxurious tropical Villa is amazing. You feel relaxed the moment you enter. Everything was delicious and perfectly planned from breakfast to dinner. Upon entering Villa Sungai, I have never experienced the feeling of perfection so immediately. The beauty and accomodations were so incredible I knew that I was never going to want to leave. We soaked into the villas charming and comfortable lounges and pools the entire length of our stay.The staff was extremely welcoming and the communication and transfers were spot on. We were so blown away be the desire and detail to meet our challenging dietary restrictions. The food and presentations were amazing. If we could have we would have extended out stay as long as possible. We recommend it to anyone looking for the best villa in Bali. We cannot wait to return one day soon. Thank you again Villa Sungai!

My husband and I, we've traveled all over the world and stayed in some amazing places but Villa Sungai was one of the best and unforgettable places. Not only that the beauty and design of it is incredible but the impeccable service from the amazing staff wowed us every day. The food was delicious and we didn't have to leave the villa because we enjoyed being there so much. We had everything we need it. If you come to Bali, this is a must place to stay. I can't recommended enough. We loved it.

My husband and I recently stayed at Villa Sungai in the “Sungai Gold” villa. This honestly has to be one of the most amazing places I have ever seen let alone stayed at! But more importantly I was just blown away by the incredible service that we received literally from the moment we landed in Bali. The minute we stepped off the plane we were greeted by a friendly man who took us through the airport & helped us with each process before then taking us to our driver. When we got in the car we met the lovely Made who provided us with bottled water, peanuts & a cold towel. This was awesome because we were hot & hungry!
When we arrived at Villa Sungai we were then greeted by all of the staff who introduced themselves. We were then taken into our villa and given a little tour of the place. I thought I had stepped into heaven! The rooms are so spacious with such beautiful furnishings, each room comes with a four poster bed & a walk in dressing room! Plus a large bathroom, with a bath & beautiful outdoor shower. There was traditional Balinese music playing on an iPod in each room which I thought was a nice touch. There is an outdoor, undercover dining pavilion with a gorgeous long wooden dining table where we were served breakfast, lunch & dinner each day. The food was another major highlight at Villa Sungai. The staff bring the freshly prepared meals to your villa for each breakfast, lunch & dinner. Every meal we had was delicious and of restaurant quality. They also would ask us if we would like afternoon tea, snacks etc. We never went hungry!
There is also a large outdoor pool which was so nice & relaxing to swim in & the views from the villa are just amazing. It is perched high above a river surrounded by beautiful luscious green trees. Every day waking up & stepping out into that view was just breathtaking. While we were there I had a Signature massage which was set up with a massage bed in one of the rooms of our villa. It was so nice & relaxing, I loved it. We actually didn’t leave the villa the whole time we stayed there because you just don’t need too when you have everything you need there!
The only one time we did leave was to take a walk through the village, and it was so lovely surrounded by trees and rice paddies. It is a really nice quiet area, very relaxing and enjoyable.
I really can’t fault this villa, every aspect I found to be amazing & I can not wait to come back to this villa one day. Thank you so much to Pamela, Made, Putu and all of the other staff!

Villa Sungai Bali is incredible. It is in the heart of Cepaka Village in the jungle. Staying there allowed us to see the "real" Bali. It truly was an experience of a lifetime. The property is magnificent, the people working there were exceptionally helpful and the food was delicious. I highly recommend staying there if you want luxury combined with an authentic jungle experience.

We had an amazing time at Sungai Gold. The property is beautiful, the food and service quality is outstanding, which all make it the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. The property is secluded in the calm village of Cepaka, away from all the chaos and traffic of more touristy areas of Bali. The staff is really friendly, helpful and completely at our service, always ready to answer any questions we had and giving us advice on things to do in the area. The food was the best we had out of our whole holiday in Bali. The live music on our last evening was an extra touch that we really appreciated. Pamela was also extremely helpful in the organisation leading up to our stay, making sure that all the details like pick up were arranged. Overall, it was an incredible stay and the highlight of our trip, would definitely recommend to all my friends and hoping to come back in the future!

Such a beautiful and memorable experience made all the more special by the friendly and experienced staff. Pool is huge and relaxing to lay by surrounded by the jungle, but my highlight has to be the food. Easily the best meals I had in Bali and something I'll truly miss. Spending the morning walking around the local village with Made was also a highlight. This village feels a world away from the congested tourist zones. Villa Sungai also has perhaps the worlds largest movie collection, which comes in very handy during those rainy says. It's the ultimate villa experience and I can't wait to come back for more.

Best villa to get lost your mind & soul for a few days in the hearth of Cempaka. You'll live a perfect getaway where you will find the best stuff service and food. Food was totally insane. They take care about all the details. Is totally amazing. Highly recommended.

The more I travel, the more I seek out experiences that are new and different and they truly make traveling worth it. That was my criteria for this Bali trip, a unique place to stay. After a few hours of researching, I came across Villa Sungai and read the detailed press and reviews and noted the peace, privacy and service that is now synonymous with the property. But what I read didn’t even begin to fully capture the personal touch.
I began emailing with Pamela to book my stay and she asked every question under the sun, about prior visits to Bali, the purpose of my trip, what I wanted from it, activities I was interested in, dietary restrictions and preferences and so much more. The attention to detail was enormous and it wasn’t fully realized until I arrived and everything was set to my exact specifications.
Once you confirm your trip with Pamela, you are asked to send through all of your travel documents and travel details because Villa Sungai does not have a front desk or a formal check in. Initially, providing all of that information upfront was another thing to add to my to-do list, but once I got to the property, I immediately understood why Pamela and team set it up that way and it made all the difference. I was greeted and picked up by Made, was escorted to the villa and was free to enjoy everything as soon as I got there, no check in, no front desk, no hassle.
All of my preferences came alive throughout my stay: Delicious meals when I wanted to eat (8am breakfast, noon lunch, snacks in between and 7pm dinner), plenty of seafood menu options (I am pescatarian) along with meat choices (my guest was not), an arrival spa treatment, a trip to Tanah Lot and Seminyak and additional service whenever you needed it. Because I was asked what I wanted out of my stay, which was rest and relaxation, the staff knew exactly when and when not to check in. I think they caught on pretty quickly that my friend and I were very low-key.
The wifi cut out during an evening storm and we both had a lot of work to get done that evening. Putu was very quick to call a service provider to check on the connection and get someone sent out the next morning. We needed internet before then and the staff helped search for places that were open with wifi. Thankfully they were able to resolve and get the connection back up shortly after. The wifi in Bali is not the most reliable and you would be surprised at how many hotels, villas, restaurants and cafes (even the best and highest rated) just blame the connection when you ask them to reset it. I get that it is an issue across the island but the response and reaction at Sungai was on point and so appreciated. Sometimes it is nice to know that people care!
I love the bustle and energy of being in a city but I need to disconnect and escape to the countryside. Villa Sungai was that much needed return to nature, literally surrounded by a lush jungle and river, rice terraces along with my favorite kinds of neighbors including frogs, roosters, birds and geckos.
There is so much havoc that tourism wrecks in every destination whether you are able to see it or not. That is why I am a huge proponent of giving back wherever I travel in whatever form I can, especially in culture, education and/or the environment, which are some of the most directly impacted areas by tourism. I was thrilled to hear that Villa Sungai has a direct program to give back to the local primary school, whether it is providing pencils, pens and other school supplies or visiting the English class program held in Made’s home that friends of the villa continue to contribute to. I scheduled a visit to drop off some supplies and meet the children but unfortunately school was closed that Monday before checking out. I will definitely be stopping by the next time I visit Bali!
My stay was bliss. Bliss bliss bliss. The personal touch was above and beyond what I have experienced in the past and it will be difficult for any place to try and top in the near future.

I’ve travelled a LOT. I’ve experienced many beautiful, special, and also luxury places, so it feels great when I can still be blown away and explore new places which have lasting impact on me. Villa Sungai is really not a place anyone can or will get the chance to see, even though I wish everyone could. Because everyone deserves the chance to see an oasis as gorgeous as this one.
Before the booking, I worried that my 2 boys would get bored there, kind of in the middle of nowhere, but my oldest age 9 said he didn’t wanna leave. They haven’t felt bored for a minute here, and we have thoroughly enjoyed the place and each other’s company. Even though its been 3 weeks since returning home, he still talks about Sungai Villa.
As if it wasn't already perfect, I just have to tell you about the food here. The menu is huge; even if you ate here for breakfast, lunch and dinner, for more than a week, you wouldn’t get tired of it. It’s just that delicious.
Made and the team at Sungai Villa made our stay amazing. They really catered all our needs. They helped me fixe several practical things, which would have been a hassle without them.
We will definitely be coming back. It's suitable for lovers on a romantic getaway or honeymoon, as its perfect for families as well..

An incredibly intimate, relaxing stay in the quiet of Bali. Stayed over the weekend for two nights with my partner & can easily say the best hotel/resort experience we have ever had. We were made to feel super super special and important by all the staff who work very hard to meet every one of your needs. Food is INCREDIBLE!! Easily catered for my dietary requirements as well :) Perfect place for families and/or couples who are looking for a quiet relaxing stay. I will be forever recommending this place to all my friends and family! Cant wait to return!
