Untuk yg pengen tau tentang nenek moyang orang Indonesia wajib banget kesini!! Kita bakal dijelasin mengenai pembentukan situs sangiran, koleksi museum juga cukup lengkap dan pemandunya juga oke. Museumnya cukup luas jadi makan waktu yg lumayan lama buat tour satu museum tapi worth it sama apa yg kita dapet.

My first bump on this place was in the year 1996, since that I have visited 5 times. I have great impression on my last visit as this place has been renovated and provide a holistic display on the ancient man and their world. Many things was added, e.g sculptures, dioramas, bones. It was a real fun. However, in the peak season it was hard to find a parking lot.

The museum IS very sophisticated i think. I mean it is located in a small town but it is like one in a big city, completed with somekind of video for further explanation. The building is also grand.

It's a good place to learn about human ancient life. Although it's primarily collected from fossil found in the area, it has been also analyzed to be a part of global evolution. It could be the largest excavation of ancient human fossil in the world.

Detailed and informative for students. But needs more attention maintaining the site and keep more people coming to visit Sangiran. Need to control the humidity in order to prevent fossils degradation.

Explanations of exhibits are mostly in Indonesia with some in English. Exhibits are well explained.
The outside parking lots are dirty with litters. One usually spend one and half hour. It took two hours drive from Yogyakarta.

Great museum in Indonesia. Remind me the "culture-rich" of Indonesia. This museum is a great place to visit in solo. Sadly this place don't have "much" collection as you might expected. And this place is just a museum, not "research" place as far as i can see

Worth the travel from Solo. Really educative for people who wants to understand the olde olde times. Lots of displays. Needs to be more interactive. Perhaps a guide, too.

Don't miss !! This is the main museum with an amazing collection of fossils you won't find anywhere else in the world except very select places in the world ! This place is part of history being the discovery site of Java man, the first considered missing link between humans and proto-humans. You'll see astonishing number of fossils from an entire bison head and hippo skeleton to a mammoth and early man !!

educative place. Sadly we can't see the whole real body of an ancient man in prehistory in a taxonomy look, or the whole bone construction of a mammoth just like what we can see in the movie "Night at the Museum". only parts of those pieces.
