Stay away from them. 👿
The issue is not only that the cars are rather old and poorly maintained, but mainly arrogant, ignorant, horrible customer service, based on false promises and lies.
I rented in early January, half a year later still waiting for the invoice.
One needs a highway toll card to drive out of airport highway, which they have none on stock.
Instead of giving full tank of petrol (according to the terms), they give you just 2/3, which is super complicated to return.
No following up on calls or emails. Worst rental ever.

I have rented a Proton Exora via the web site from them for 8 days from 5 April 2018.
The price : One of the cheapest.
The greeting : Waited for at least 30 minutes at their booth in the arrival hall with 8 phone calls (out of which 5 of them were rejected before even picking up)
The vehicle : Relatively old with 65,000km overall mileage, smelly and dirty seat cushions, strange noises when stepping on the accelerator ... the only compliment is the air-cond worked well.
Not impress at all.

Finding this place is quite a challenge. I got a bad map/plan from the booth in the arrival hall and even as a reasonably skilled orienteering runner I spent around 15 minutes finding the rental place. It doesn't help that the gps location is wrong on the Europcar website (here on google maps it is correct).
When I finally arrived, they told me that because I have a debit card (not credit card), I will get my "cover" money back only after 3 months. Which was not only outrageous, it also wasn't true. I got it within one week of returning the car.
The car I got was ok for the price I paid.

Very good and friendly service. We hired a CUV which was just run in/low km. Clean and tidy. Price was reasonable but super CDW with a RM 1200 excess seemed odd. Overall a good experience.

Rental was one way from Penang airport to KLIA. Their rates for a Toyota Innova 2.0 was very cheap at around RM178 per day all in for 9 days (includes RM79.50 one way surcharge - must be the cheapest around!) after relevant discount. I was given a fairly new car with only 12,200 km clocked up. Was very pleased with this aspect.
Reached their counter at KLIA Main Terminal (KLIA1) to return my car at around 7.40 a.m. but found it unmanned. Called the contact number given and their staff arrived (by car, possibly from klia2) at 7.58 a.m. Vehicle inspection was quite fast and in about 1 minute it was all over.

Very bad service, way to expensive for such a car (Proton Personal) and the car already had over 70000 km... Never again Europcar

Quite bad for Europcar, car with 50.000 km is out of normal rental car standard. Road tax is expired during the contract, so company has to manage somehow to change label. In any other main company, if they will have this problem they will give you another car or upgrade for other group.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! I visited KL last week and tried to rent a Myvi from them. They gave me some vehicle I had never heard of with 90,000 miles on it, the breaks didn't work, and the passenger door didn't shut all the way. Obviously, I brought it back the same day (even though had rented it for 4). The employee upon returning it was friendly but had little insight as to how to get a refund. Since then, I've called literally 40-50 times and am yet to have someone answer the phone or return my emails. I'm currently out about $450USD (aka a small fortune). Please take my advice and use a trusted company.
