The most cozy bookshop in town and probably the largest in town for english or non-indonesian collections. They also have rare collectibles that might draw your attention.

Good place to buy english and japanese books. Price is a bit higher than periplus or book and beyond, but they do have more books to chose, even the not so new one

Kinda like heaven for a reader. The collection is okay. But the space is enormous. Always worth for a visit even if you don't want to buy a book.

The place is inside the SOGO department store so it might a little bit hard to find, the collections is not that good compared to the one at Plaza Senayan.

Best place to get your book. The book collection is quite complete and sometimes they have discount promotion for New York Times best seller book. They have cook book, health book, yoga book, children book, books with japanese language, manga in English and Japanese. This is one of the biggest English collection bookstore in Jakarta.

One of the oldest and most complete imported book stores in Jakarta. It's located at SOGO department store in Plaza Senayan. The collections is complete, Japanese, Chinese, English and limited number of Bahasa Indonesia. It also sells stationery, notebooks, gifts and lots of them seem to be imported directly from Japan.
There is a Starbucks outside and pretty cozy for reading.

I've you're looking for imported books, magazine, comics, etc, this is the perfect place for you. Especially if you want to find original japanese book, this is the one and only place in Jakarta

The biggest kinokuniya in town
The are many variants of book ranging from indonesian, english, chinese, and japanese
If you want to find japanese manga and light novel, you should go here
The price is pretty expensive compared to the original price though

A popular imported bookstore from Japan. They offer extensive collection of Japanese mangas and other reads too, but mostly books written in English. Be sure to dress properly if you plan to browse the books for sometime since the AC is very cool. Prices are quite expensive. Always crowded on weekends. They have toilets inside the shop. One of the few surviving imported bookstores.

My favourite bookstore in Jakarta. You can buy imported and local books here. Since it is Japanese bookstore, you can find Japanese books and Manga and also unique and quirky stationary stuff from Japan. It occupies quite a big space in 5th floor of plaza senayan and you can reach here through Sogo department store. The atmosphere is calming. Outside the bookstore there is also Starbucks and chatterbox

Lots of Japanese stuff, japanese manga, artbook and imported books. Kinda expensive but always a pleasure to spend time and find good books here.

great bookstore with a wide variety of books in either English, Japanese, Mandarin, or Indonesian. They also have the great ambiance around the bookstore that makes me love to stay longer.
Tip: sometimes each book has two to three different prices, sometimes they are more expensive or cheaper because of the different suppliers, so better be checking before you take the book to the cashier!

I think, this is the best book store in Jakarta for English and Japanese, including manga, books and magazines. Found some cute arts and crafts here, and some worth displaying coffee table books here. On more than one occasion, I often use a change to meet at PS to browse the literature section, buy a book, then sit and read at the Starbucks in front of the store, hours before my meeting schedule.

There's always something soothing visiting bookstore like Kinokuniya. I have less time for reading books nowadays, but whenever I visit Kinokuniya, I feel like I just have to buy a book and start reading again.

Decent selection, more limited than Singapore locations. Computer science section, nonexistent. Starbucks downstairs, wifi.
