The mosque itself is abit dated, the lake is abit murky but it's an iconic place for the locals and is a symbol of the Islamic faith in Brunei. " This is the main mosque located in the city center. Its pretty cool but not as impressive as the photos look. There is construction around the lake so you cant walk around. The lake itself is kind of dirty also. It gets lit up at night too so you can take some pictures at night. "

" This mosque is beautiful inside and out. As a tourist and non-Muslim, I was allowed to put on a free robe to cover my legs (I was wearing shorts) and enter inside the mosque for a look inside. No photos are allowed inside, and you are only able to stand in a specified area. But still, it's beautiful to see inside this ornate house of worship. The outside of the mosque is stunning - and perfect for photo opportunities. I took over a hundred photos from the different angles I could find. There's a "boat" you can walk over to and get some great shots of the mosque as it gets reflected in the water.
