Small airport less passangers but clean & roomy. The duty free shop accept multi currency.

Serious discrase for an international airport... I reckon Avalon would give this airport a good run for it's Money.
Where are the classic duty free stores?
A so called food mall with 3 spring rolls on display to buy. My only option was instant noodles where they offered some boiling water.
1 hour Wifi?? who does that these days?

Airport is ok if looking a bit run down. Having said this they have slowly renovated certain areas, especially the business class lounge which used to be absolute garbage. The lounge now is very nice indeed, the facilities are always clean and clearly accessible. If you don't have access to the business class lounge then you only get access to average speed wifi for an hour which is annoying seeing as though it's 2018. The staff here are very friendly and go out of their way to assist you in any way.

Small but good enough for this country. All ground staffs are really friendly and would attend you nicely.
Keir Lord (03/04/2018 06:40)
Terrible wifi, had to pay 50 dollars to use the lounge to get fast wifi

PROS (plus three stars)
- not crowded
- very nice air conditioning
- fine sense of aesthetics
CONS (minus two stars)
- as a culture, alcohol isn't really available. Very sad for travelers.
- "free" wifi only lasts for ONE hour, and that's after you've gone through ad walls. After that, you hit a pay wall. Very unfriendly for travelers
Food Trail Rider (24/02/2018 14:35)
Small but good enough for this country. All ground staffs are really friendly and would attend you nicely. Light backpackers will get around easily with public bus only charged B$1 for any destination, just wait for a while for them to come around.
Debra Freeman (08/01/2018 13:48)
Exchange rate is better than at Times Square Mall. All buses go to City Center Terminal, the green chairs outside the departure area is the bus stop. I know #36 and #38 stop there during daylight hours.

Good but small airport. This is the only one International Airport in Brunei. Very friendly and convenient. Big and easy to access parking place. Have some food stalls and coffee bar, at departure gate, arrival hall and also at inside.
Lucas Hainsworth (05/12/2017 07:28)
Very pleasant wait, just pay the $5 visa fee and catch the bus into town for a buck. It's a nice ride and you get to see a bit of the town for cheap

I have visited a lot of countries. This airport is too small and this is only one airport in this country. But the airport is really good, clean enough & I loving their friendly behaviour.Besides airport got a mosque, this was really beautiful And there got free wifi also with the limitations time around 50 mint.
memed bapa (11/11/2017 06:25)
This airport is simple and small, but clean. Unfortunately, free wifi is limited time. Only 50 minutes. The restaurant only 2-3 place.
Gerard Umali (24/10/2017 01:17)
I really like how the airport is clean and well maintained, however the small size means that there is not much to do and go around while waiting for the flight.
Recommended to bring something to read or do while waiting, or preferrably wait in the airport mall or other places nearby

Airport number one for me and very good at brunei
Soraya Dinamika (10/08/2017 14:16)
Such a pleasant yet modern airport, though quiet enough for an intl airport but the service was excellent, and it is really clean airport.
Dexter Nair (29/07/2017 03:33)
A modern and large airport but inside, it is almost empty except the officials on-duty.
Arnold Keith (27/07/2017 10:52)
Positive
- clean
- prayer area
- nice atmosphere
- comfortable
Negative
- 1 hr wifi access. This is very very very very very bad in today's society.
- a bad coffee place that has a monopoly on coffee and food.
You guys can do better then that.
KL W (16/07/2017 15:31)
Small airport
Limited service
No official website
Only got one money exchange shop , one souvenir shop and a few shops inside
I have connected the Tebu free wifi in KFC in the city centre . Then failed to connect to airport free wifi due to exceeded daily limit. RUBBISH !
Opulent Extensions (10/07/2017 07:48)
Worst international airport ever. Royal Brunei airline feel it's ok not to disclose that flights will be connecting here, I guess because it's their home airport. Unacceptable when the layover is 10 hours. No real restaurant inside the terminal you have to leave the airport and even then choices are slim. Wifi is only free for 1 hour and although the country is warm the air conditioning was so high during my layover that I fell ill on my way home.
HaZera Akuma (12/06/2017 12:30)
Don't buy things inside this place. Go to the airport mall it's very good place for buy things with interesting stuff.
Vincent Melling (25/04/2017 10:58)
Positives - Clean, efficient despite long lines in the transfer area
Negatives - shopping is uninteresting, cafe is good but too small for the numbers that want to use it at peak times - and there is only one cafe with a limited range of food. No power points for phones or laptops like most airports provide now. Wifi works sort of. You can's stop your session then restart it. Also only free fro an hour
Bring something to read / do!
Robin Lee Wuo Bing (17/04/2017 06:11)
You do get all the basic facilities and it's not crowded almost all the time even during a departure, arrival or transfer flight. There is a lot of car park as well
Falcon S451X (08/04/2017 03:16)
It's not too busy and there are seldom big crowds (excluding flight transfer) It's nice and not to noisy and they also have a couple of restraunts. Flight times are good and are usually on-time and the service is good and helpful in the airport.
Travel and Food (17/03/2017 14:29)
Staffs try to manage the queues in immigration in a better way so that we don't have to wait. Never saw a big crowd in this airport.
Alex Tjahjana (20/11/2016 00:51)
A very humble international airport with just a basic facilities. Definitely not glamourous at all, and you won't know that Brunei is one of the richest country in the world. They don't even have air conditioning even though the weather is very hot, very tropical. The service pace is a bit laid back.
James oahuhawaii (04/11/2016 04:25)
Lots of potential but still in progress. This is very modern airport but still under development. The most prevalent being no restaurants in the departure area. Really? None, nope, nada! If your a transient as probably 70% of the passengers are you will have to immigrate to get a real meal. Wifi was nice and fast but your IP will be locked out after 3 hours for 24 hr period. Clean bathrooms, comfy seats and thankfully not very crowded. Power is another big issue. There are no convenience outlets anywhere! At The Coffee bean there is a couple open outlets but good luck getting one. The international atms did not work for me. I had to use the local atms to the right to get cash. Im sure its just a temp glitch but good to know you have options.
Jeff Lei (17/10/2016 17:47)
Nice place indeed. Except that there's not much to do at this airport so be sure to bring along books or anything to entertain yourself if you're going to have a long wait. Also the temperature is quite cold so be sure to wear thick.
WaiTuck CHONG (11/10/2016 00:00)
This is a spanking new airport, it is very clean and well maintained. The staff including the immigration folks are very friendly and provide service with a smile. Great job Brunei.
Elias Sido (12/08/2016 04:56)
Route: Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh, stopover at Brunei. Flying with Royal Brunei airlines.
Modern, Cafe area, free Wi-Fi (1 hour limit sessions).
Basic shops for souvenirs, coffee, perfumes.
Comfortable seats. Layovers was 1hr and 3 hrs.
I couldn't find any power plugs or USB ports.
Staff are very friendly.
Manuel S Mathew (10/11/2016 18:53)
Good airport. Clean. Friendly staff. One of the majour issues here is the temperature. It is very cold. Have a jacket ready with you when arriving.
Len Nax (16/08/2016 23:45)
The airport is very cold so make sure you bring jackets.
Number 23 public bus often passed here, and you only need to pay B$1.
Taxis are available in the arrival area but its costly.
For now, only a few food stalls are available.

Had transits a couple of times at Bandar Seri Begwan airport. They were renovating that time. There is a waiting area, not large but was sufficient. However, there were no enough power sockets and free wifi at that time. There were long queues for the washrooms. There was a coffee shops and a small KFC, however, i had to climb stairs with my hand luggage to go for those.

The say good things comes in small packages.
The Borneo region is a third world country. With third world standards but what it lacks is made up by the friendly locals and the small, acceptable airport.
BWN is a small airport with approximately eight gates. It is very clean and quiet and lots of space to sit or sleep according to your needs.
While I was there, the shops sell the usual gamut of Duty Free products. There is not much in terms of food stores, a coffee shop or pay a premium for all you can eat at the Lounge. A Jollibee (Brunei own A&W version) is outside of the Transit hall, you will have to check out and proceed upstairs of the Public Viewing Lounge. Across the street there is a three stars hotel restaurant serving decent Asian fare.
As you have guessed, it's not ideal if you just arrived from London en-route to Melbourne or vice versa. However for those passengers starting or ending their Borneo adventure, this part of the world is gold.
