the most attractive tourist spot in pontianak. It is easy to find with the maps. Grab and Go-Jek company make it easier to reach✌🏼.. if you want the truth, just visit it at 11-12pm💪🏻😅, highly recommended.

Yey.. I'm in the center of the world. It is monument to mark the equator line in Pontianak City, at the same time we can step our feet in southern and northern hemisphere. Easily accessible from the city. Free for entrance.

Free entrance, located far from city and airport, only can be accessed by grab or taxi. Officers are nice & friendly, and helpful

actually, its the national landmark.. if you are the new comer, or visitor, you should come here.. you will be at 0, with no shadow... but... yes its very hot... you actually on the place where the sun is in the nearest place from the earth! and yes, you can get the certificate that telling you have visiting this place...

The most recognized place in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, the monunent of equator shows as the only one city in Kalimantan passed by equator line. The monument can be reached by taxi or GoCar, and cross two bridges in Pontianak.
The most challenging task in the monument is how to stand an egg there. If you are lucky, the egg will stand. I do not know whether it is influenced by the equator line or not. Just try...

This is a place to experience one leg on north side and one leg on south side of the earth, a must visited place in Pontianak.

The biggest attraction in the Pontianak area, the museum itself isn't that great. The reason to go is to get your picture taken at the monument. It's by the river too so you can relax and watch the boats go by.

A must visit place when you are in town. It's a historical place, yet the city landmark. Much improved since my last visit. And the renovation still under going..

The place is still under construction. The monument itself is excellent. It will be very nice when the peripherial construction is done.

They were still on progress to be renovated, maybe next year after all this done it will be more attractive, because if you have to wait til noon or the exact time the sun exactly above your head, you might be boring and have nothing to do in this site. Keep improving!

Fun. You can have a certificate with your name on it for free, and standing between the two hemispheres (though it doesn't seem to be the exact spot) is worth the ferry and opelet (bargain hard) ride.

It is about 3km from Pasar Puring.
Taking oplet will cost you 4000 Rp.
There is no proper signboard to this place.
There is construction going on at its entrance.
Even you have reached it there is no proper name displayed.
The monument can be seen from the main road but there is a curb that prevents you noticing it.
Once inside you'll see a display name but covered by trees.
Entry is free. But there is a parking fee.
Please sign in the visitor's book for statistical purpose.
The museum itself is very unique.
Previously it was in the open and graffiti was all over the pillars.
Now those writings are hard to see as the pillars are painted black.
Lots of documentations and statistics are displayed.
Old interesting photos are also there.
There is a green line which signifies north and south of the equator.
This is a very interesting place to visit.
There is a foodcourt in front of it.
About 20 shops are being built around it.

Historical place with well documented story. It was being renovated to add additional features like shop & gift shop. Parking area was vast for both motorcycles and cars. Kapuas River tour using boat also available there.

After all these years, they are finally upgrading the place to be more tourist-friendly. Works are still in progress when we were there... so expect better things to come. Otherwise, the enclosure that houses the monument is engaging itself to a certain extent.

The original monument is located inside the building. Displays are in both English and Indonesian. Besides photographing yourself straddling the line separating the northern and southern hemisphere, check out the excellent copper reliefs on the surrounding walls.

It's a cool place to hangout. From there you can get a boat ride which leads to various places. It's also a good place to take pics with the freshness of the Kapuas River

You can buy egg near equator monument.
But there are only monument so don't expect too much.
