After doing a long research, walking around in the hot city, we did the trip to Lombok from Labuan bajo with Wanua. Why? The communication was very easy and professional. Fendi (the manager) answered all of or questions with a lot of patience and the price was good as well. After reading some of the reviews here in internet we had far lower expectations than the trip finally was. What the.. is wrong with you guys? What do you expect from a trip of approximately 130€ for 4 days? Maybe a 7 courses dinner? The food was local (vegetables, fish, rice, noodles, fruit, vegetarian options) and really well prepared. And because of the currents: Yes we also went into the currents because this is where you have the highest chance for spotting the Mantas. But it's far away from dangerous and the crew on the boat always pay attention to the people in the water and they help if something would happen. We never felt unsafe and I'm little bit scared of the depth. In total this trip was just amazing and seeing the Mantas, Dragons and Laba Island was one of the most memorable moments since we started traveling 1 year ago. The crew is so friendly and helpful, we can fully recommend Wanua. Thanks for everything guys!

This trip is not worth the money. The reason I took this trip is because I thought the islands we stopped at on the 2 days before Komodo area were supposed to have spectacular snorkeling. Not only were the reefs dead, but the boat didn't have enough snorkel gear for everyone on board. On top of all of that, the safety on this boat was abhorrent. As soon as we got on the boat, we departed without any introduction of the crew/guide or any explanation of safety gear or what to do in case of an emergency. The passengers were so scared at night that they dug out life vests from below to sleep with in their bunks. That being said, we quickly realized that there were not enough life vests for the number of people on board. At times they had people jump in the water to snorkel when currents were so strong that they couldn't get back to the boat. In addition to all of this, Wanua Adventure only pays for the Komodo area permit for one day even though we are there for two. The crew were constantly looking out for the "water police." I would highly recommend not taking any of the Lombok-Komodo boat trips and just flying to Labuanbajo instead.

Not worth the trip. Snorkeling on the way to Komodo was non existent. Best to fly over and then go into the National Park. There were not enough life jackets or snorkels on the boat. Very little communication with the guide. They were unable to feed the 30 people on the boat sufficiently. They sent us out snorkeling in very strong currents and instead of rowing us back to the main boat had us jump out and swim. When we tried to go to Labuan Bajo early, they lied to us and said they had no communication with their manager and therefore could not help us.

We did the Lombok-Komodo cruise and it was fantastic! Super nice and cool staff and everything went better that I was expecting. I have nothing negative to say about our trip.

All in all, we were pretty happy with this trip. We traveled from Komodo to Lombok in late August / early September and would recommend this time and route to anyone. Especially since the comparatively "rough" night when the ship is going during the night and at the end of the trip, if you go this way.
Traveling by boat was more comfortable than we thought. Bring a hat for the night though as the wind can make sleeping uncomfortable and cold. I arrived at Lombok with an inflammation of the ear.
PROs:
Relatively cheap
Friendly staff
Nice stops for snorkeling and hiking
Food was surprisingly good
We we're surprised how okay the boat and the shaking during the night were.
CONs:
Bad communication during the trip with somewhat hidden costs (50k to 350k), so make sure you have everything included.
Moreover, the staff doesn't really speak English well so communication in general is a bit difficult.
Bring your own snorkeling equipment! There were no fins and snorkels looked pretty disgusting.
Toilet was not really super clean. Be aware that this is not a luxury cruise but a cruise for backpackers. Don't expect there to be standards like in a hostel. Also, showering was only limited to a quick splash after the snorkeling sessions.
Most importantly:
The boat does NOT arrive at Bangsal harbor at the Gilis. They will drop you off on Lombok's east coast and drive you 3 hours by bus to the west coast (at least that transfer is included). The info in the flyers or emails simply isn't true.

Very unorganized agency. We booked a tour with them to see the dragons and go snorkeling. The price is the same as everywhere else 450-500 K per person. We agreed on meeting at 5:20 am in front of the office to try on the equipment. At 5:25 am the guy arrived on the motorbike telling us that we cannot try on the equipment as he is afraid to wake his boss who is still sleeping. After a short argument he drove off to find us fins. He came back a short wait later and directed us to an office where we tried fins on. Then we asked where the masks are? He said he doesn't have them but will bring some to the boat and that we should go to the boat already. At the boat there were no masks. He drove off in search of masks and came back with one and said that he does not have a second one and will refund us 200 K . We argues some more and he drove off again in search of another mask. At this time it was already past 6 am and everybody else was waiting for us. Eventually he came back with another mask and we went on the boat. If this is their usual behavior this is highly unreliable and unprofessional. The masks and the fins are of low quality, but that is not the matter. Choose another organization!

On a fait un trip de 4 jours 3 nuits de flores à lombok dans les komodo. Tout simplement magique. Une équipe au top niveau, une qualité de service irréprochable et un crew au petits soins sur le bateau.
Tarif à priori imbattable. Un must do, vraiment.
