What's advertised as 2hrs is actually closer to 4 or 5hrs.

It's anything but a fast boat. If you get sea sick do not go on this boat. For some reason they always seem to be last into port so you'll spend 30 mins bobbing around waiting for the other boats to leave, even if you're there first.

Make sure you don't lose your transfer ticket as it will be a nightmare getting a free transfer and you have to put up with the cabbies at Pandang Bai hassling you.

We took GiliGili Fast Boat to Gili Air and got Wahana back to Bali. GiliGili was great, quick and without hassle.

it was the worst experience that we had. slowly personal, delays more than 1 hour, not recommend for anybody. please give your money to the another company. awful!!

We decided to give it a try despite all the bad comments, and also because it’s way cheaper than the other companies ;)
We have to say that it was a great experience, the journey went smooth as the boat was on time, and safe, they were very organized with the bags as well.
Nothing to complain of !

Expect some delays, nature of the location. Otherwise comfortable seats pickup at hotels in Bali in shuttle vans with Good drivers and A/ C. Price is Right All luggage made it there and back. No major complaint.

Our worst travel experience in Southeast Asia, and we have been traveling quite a lot for 6 months. Do not travel with this company if you want an okay experience. 4 hours late in total. We stood for 2 hours at the harbor with no info. Customer service is worse than anywhere else! On the boat they told us that we were going to Lombok and there change boat. New info for almost everyone onboard. Very hot waiting in the harbor and on the boat as well. I booked via Dejulius tour Ubud and did not know they would put us with this company, I should have asked before buying tickets. We paid 250' each, cheap, but not good value for money.

Overall okay experience. Three stars because they were late. I was expecting a very poor experience from the reviews but it was okay. Just listen to their instructions when coming back to padang bay after getting off of the boat regarding which shuttle service to take. Lots of scammers will try and cheat which are not of wahana crew.

!!They stole my sandals of my backpack!! Brought us to Lombok and from Lombok to Gili T with a wooden old boat. We booked for a fast boat to Gili T. Rip offs!

We’ve traveled with Wahana a lot and the 2 star average they have is way to low. Yes, they don’t run on time (welcome to Asia) and the boat rides can be pretty extreme and ruff since they can’t actually influence the waves and weather, but they’re fine, especially for the price you pay. I read a lot that people have to wait in the harbor, we’ll thats much better than missing the boat right? Since the traffic in Bali can be pretty bad and is getting worse every year, they rather be in time. Why don’t they get a 5 star rating then? Because they refuse to say no, like a lot of Asians do... pick up at the hotel? Yes... no, at a central point. Is it direct to Gili T? Yes... no, of course not, all boat company’s combine the three Gilli’s. Also the price of Wahana is really good, if you want western standards, pay western prices, if you pay less, don’t expect the same. BTW, we travel with two young children as well, they are always extremely helpful with them and nice.

Be aware that they promise and sent you a confirmation that you will be dropped off at your hotel. That is totally untrue!! You will go with a shuttle bus and dropped off at central Ubud: Cocomart.

I specifically wrote and asked before I booked, wether drop off would be at hotel or Cocomart.

In writing they promised med at my hotel.

Everyone I asked, told the same story. It's a simple scam. Why don't they just tell you, that you go with a shuttlebus?

And be patient: you get dropped off 2 hours before take off and they will be 1 hour late: 3 hours waiting.

That's normal!

The boat were fine and the trip from Bali to Gili T also - therefore the 2 stars.

Pretty good round trip price, paid 800k pp from Bingin to Gili Air then back to Ubud, including ground transfer. BUT on the way back to Bali from Gili Air they made us wait over an hour in the sun, never telling us anything, then local boat to Lombok, drag bags across beach, no help, then Boat back to Bali which was packed to the brim. The operation in Gili Air just really annoyed me with making us wait so long and not giving us any info. I’d rather pay more and go direct from Gili back to Bali with Blue Water Express which is next door

The boat was good and handled a rough sea well. Watch out for the scamming taxi drivers at Padang bai. They will tell you every story from but it will take 3 hours as it goes via... etc. walk to end of carpark and are branded 10 seater vans. Took an hour direct to hotel in sanur in good air con van. For $350k from Gili to sanur thought was good value and good service

Not sure why there are such poor ratings. As far as boat services go in South East Asia they are good.

The boat was relatively comfortable and made good time.

Only issues would be that near the front there were leaks from slightly damaged windows allowing sea water in. The engine fumes were unpleasant and although comfortable, the seats are close together and it felt a little cramped.

Reviewers clearly have high expectations of a boat service that you simply cannot expect for the price.

I read all the negative reviews before using this company...so I was worried. Turns out to not be nearly as bad as I thought. My experience was great. The boat left relatively on time heading to Gili Air and was only a bit late for the return.

Throw away Western expectations on how a boat service should operate. Be patient and try to chill out. Keep your eyes and ears open for the big green boat and get in line. It might look like utter mayhem, but it works.

Do note: we had to switch boats at Gili T. There is no jetty there. They beach it bow first. You get out and scramble along the side of the boat and walk down some questionable steps to the beach. Repeat the process when your transfer boat arrives. If you have mobility issues or small kids, this would definitely be a concern.

It's the worst service I ever had. In case of problems, the company simply doesn't care about your complains.
I had to cancel a ticket two days before the departure, in it there was written "cancellation fee 50%" and "reconfermation ticket at least two days before departure".
Well after waiting a lot for receiving someone answer my call ( they always gave me other phone numbers to call), I was told that I cannot be refunded because I was no more in Bali.
In my country writing something in a public document, and then denying it, it's illegal.

DO NOT BOOK WAHANA!
Terrible service that is always running hours behind schedule and not safe for kids at all.
Along with everyone else writing poor reviews, we also were 4 hours delayed then not told we were going to Lombok. We then had to take our luggage down onto the beach and board a locals boat, which Wahana obviously pay off on a regular basis. They told us there were 'too many tourists' to go straight to Gili T, but only mentioned this when they started off loading us at Lombok. The local boats said 15ppl per boat but happily loaded about 45 people onto one boat. Our boat had 15 life jackets. There were families with young children.
Our trip back was much smoother and on time with Blue Water Express, If you can book with them do it to avoid a nightmare on your vacation.

On my experience to arrive to Gili T. I don't understand the bad reviews. The ship was on time at the port in Padang Bay, we started the trip 5 min past 9, and everything went well. 1:30h trip with no problems at all.
I can understand if you have booked the fast and they changed to a ferry or some RRHH g but not because the people throw up, is that the problem of the company?

As commented all good, we will probably book with the our way back.

On the return journey I noted 2 staff throwing rubbish into the ocean including one throwing water bottles out the window of the Captains Cabin (he was sitting right next to the Captain). When challenged about this, the best the staff could do was the normal local response of a "giggle". For this reason (let alone the consistent late departures), I would not support this business again and encourage you not to as well.

Terrible service. Crammed in without a seat. Staff completely unhelpful. Organisation of bags non existent, as they lost mine. No tags or separation for the destination. The shuttle driver, after losing our bag tried to throw us out the bus because he couldn't be bothered with the traffic. Two days later still no sign of my bag. Their are definitely more comfortable ferry services but I think the rest of these issues are universal unfortunately.

Felt a bit swizzed by Wahana Gili Ocean - myself and my partner paid 350k RPH each for a single journey from Gili Air to Padang Bay, with a transfer included from Padang Bay to Ubud at the other end. Upon arrival at Padang Bay it became clear there was no organisation of the shuttle bus services, hence each passenger takes a whistle stop tour of wherever anyone else is going (including Denpasar, Nusa Dua, Seminyak, Ubud etc), with the journey taking up to 3.5 hours (we had been told previously the shuttle transfer would take around an hour). The shuttle bus providers try and con you into using their friend's taxis instead, trying to force you into paying an extra 400k RPH for a personal shuttle service. Absolute con and turned out a very expensive journey - travel with someone else, or negotiate a ticket minus transfer and sort yourself out with a private taxi at the other end!!

Don't ever use this company!
Check out trustpilot as well.
So far driver was 30 minutes late, the pickup van is completely overloaded with people and luggage. Seats are awful because of the luggage pushing the seats to terrible positions. No aircondition in the van as well. Can't wait to see the ferry which also have many bad recommendations.. Once again - don't support this awful company!

Same experience as those above me, really, really long wait for us to get on the boat - constantly told we are about to board. Then we are absolutely crammed in tiny seats. As mentioned above, really cheap which is good, but experience wise, I wouldn't say it's worth it.

But we did get there in the end with no lost bags, so I guess that's something.

Pretty poor service - boat was one hour late and then we were all crammed into less seats than there were people.. the timings were awful, told it takes 1.5hrs to get to Gilli air when in fact it took 2.5hrs. The toilet was overflowing and unusable on the boat. Not worth the 350k price tag

Cheap, but you get what you pay for. The posted schedules are not possible with their boat - we left perfectly on time, and the weather was clear - and arrived at Gili Air nearly 2 hours late. We are currently waiting for our departure boat back to Bali, which is also more than 2 hours late. While the boat trip itself and the shuttle service to/from thr boat was ok, they do not care about you or your schedules at all, so prepare to be very late from the posted schedules. I would not book my trip again with Wahana.

Save yourself a lot of annoyance and go with another tour company, we got the 10:30 boat from Gili T, we were told the boat transfer to Padang would take 1.5 hours and from there an hour to the airport.
Three and a half hours later we arrive at Padang where we are met by the shuttle bus drivers who now tell us it'll take 3-3.5 hours to make it to the airport and try to get us to use their friends taxi service to make it on time.
Further more the boat was very uncomfortable and overfilled with people left standing for the whole journey, do yourself a favour and stay away.

We booked if for the price (the lowest I could find). Didn't leave on time (15 min delay to and from gili) and although it was airconditioned it was still quite warm. You can sit on the roof but there are no seats or whatsoever. It isn't the most comfortable ride to the gili's but the staff is friendly and cheap! I paid 550.00 IDR transfer from seminyak to Padangbai and than the boat to gili t/air and back to Padanbai and transfer back to Seminyak.

Horrific service!! The boat is unsafe, strong smell of petrol, staff don't know what they are doing, we had big waves and they all started panicking and didn't reassure the passengers who were feeling sick... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Gili Gateway seemed much more reliable and professional.

Bad service and lack of security. Use Gili gateway as they seem much more professional.
2 hours delay from Gili (they will always give you an excuse but in reality only leave when the boat is full so can make you wait for 4 hours).
The sea was very bad that day and the team does not seem to know what they are doing... They allowed passengers on the deck who ended up being completely wet...
If you book via an agency or hotel please ask them not to book via wahana.

Boat was more than two hours delated, paid 300k Rp. + 50k extra to get from Gili Air to the Hostel in Canggu. Taxi driver kicks us out far away from the hostel and said he does not bring us to the hostel, we told him that we paid for it but he said it is not his problem. So we had to walk in the middle of the night to the hostel! A lot of people had the same problems with this agency too !! So guys go for another company or make 100% sure that you get what you pay for !!

Boat itself ok except the hot conditions and tiny seats.
But there's a big BUT:
- Shuttle transfer from hotel to padang Bai 1 hour delayed. Driver very unfriendly, no excuse.
Boat itself was 45 min delayed due to police safety checks after the accident with 2 dead people one day before (other company).
Due to the delay we missed the last public boat to Gili Meno - Wahana organised a much overpriced private boat.
On the return boat again 45 mins delay.
The bus shuttle to Seminyak was driven by the most unfriendly person we met during our Bali time, through us out in the cebter although we wanted to Seminyak square.
Overall to say: don't expect to gave a comfortable and chilled time ysing this company...you just want to arrive and get out of the boat/bus

Aweful. Boat aircon didn't work, motors broke down (overheated?) 4 times along the way. Stood outside waiting in the sun for 45 min. Crammed into seats that are too small. You get what you pay for I guess. Other companies seem to have nicer boats, Samaya for one.

If I could rate 0 stars I would!

THE WORST organised company I've ever come across.

After our crossing today the ocean was so violent that we hit 2 large waves almost causing us to capsize. One wave was around 5 metres tall (much higher than the boat) which struck the side of the vessel. The entire journey everyone was being sick.

I've spent a lot of time on boats and in rough seas and never in my short 25 years have I experienced such a disregard for human life. No safety briefing, no emergency exits.

I'm not one for complaining, but this company needs a serious investigation. I'd never imagined having to prepare myself for abandoning a ship or preparing to drown trying to get out of a boat. Well until today that is.

Instead of 1,5 hours from padangbai it took 2,5 hours with almost half an hour stop in lombok where only 2 passengers boarded and 2 disembarked. All whilst the engine was running and the fumes were blasted in the seating area resulting in everyone feeling lightheaded.
