Great experience! Syam trekker arranged everything very well and I would highly recommend using their services. The guide and porters were awesome and helped us through the difficult parts. Food that they prepared was amazing and probably the best we had during the three weeks we were in Indonesia!

Our 4 days 3 nights package couldn't have been organized better. Ary, our guide was very social, responsible and ready to help with any problem. He made sure to pay a lot of attention to our safety and comfort.
Ema & Apet, our porters worked tirelessly, carrying with super human strength all the equipment/food and preparing the campsite. We hardly had to wait for our tent, or food which was delicious and abundant.
We couldn't have done the trek without this team.

Syam Trekker is simply an outstanding organisation. If you are planning to do a Rinjani trekking, do so with Syam. The Rinjani trekking to the top is beautiful, every few hours there is another scenery, from very green to grey lava stones, from forest to outstanding views. Be aware that you are in a good condition; if you don't exercise weekly during daily life this trip will be extremely tough. Syam Trekker is in my opinion the best option; skilled and good guide and porters, super warm tents, comfy sleeping mats and warm and clean sleeping bags, so you will not get cold during the night. This is important because it can get very cold during the nights at 2600m. Also the food is very good, tasty and rich of calories which you will need for your trip. Our guide Andy was incredibly friendly, he speaks English quite well and helps you making this an amazing experience. Andy, thank you so much! Also the porters were very helpfull to us. Please make sure that you get them a good tip at the end of your trip, because without them the trekking to the top seemed impossible to me. With a couple from Belgium we climbed and walked the trekking in one full day and one night to the top. The small groups are unique for Syam and really worth paying for, because the guide can teach you a lot about the surroundings and the vulcanous en it's in my opinion more cosy than with a large group. Although my boyfriend stopped at 20min. before the summit because I was having a hard time with altitude sickness, we loved this experience and the sunrise above those incredible mountains and vulcanoes. Syam Trekker, thank you so much!

Best choice for Mt Rinjani!
Where do I even begin? We were recommended Syam Trekker by a friend and it was one of the best decision made ever.
Pick up from airport was smooth. And they sent us to the doorstep of our Airbnb after the trek.
We had Awar as our guide - good enough english to converse, super experienced with 10 years as a porter and 2 years as a guide. Felt very secure and confident with him leading us through our 3D2N trek. He helped with taking pictures too hahah. All the porters were friendly yet professional throughout the trek.
The food prepared by the porters was always more than enough and we were never hungry. (Really, no need to bring your own food at all.) There's 3 meals proper meals per day, with cut fruits, tea/coffee. Some meals will be accompanied with orange juice/coke/sprite. There will be energy bar/biscuits along the way when stopping to rest. We had goreng pisang for snack before one of the dinners too!
The sleeping tents were more than adequate. Very spacious! Mattress was thick enough, pillow provided too. Warm sleeping bag provided, though we still need to wear thermal to sleep.
Value for money! Just use Syam Trekker, won't be wrong!

We were exceptionally pleased with everything provided in our 4 day, 3 night trekking package with Syam Trekker.
TRANSFER: Picked up at Bangsal Harbour and taken to office in Senaru to discuss details of trek and make payment. Syam clarified all details of our trek and answered any questions we had. He also responded to previous emails very quickly!
We were provided accommodation in Senaru Village, which included dinner, breakfast and water.
Upon arrival to our accommodation in the afternoon, we were given a guide to take us to the two waterfalls nearby. I would highly recommend seeing these waterfalls - they are fabulous! You can swim at the second one and it's wonderfully refreshing and exhilarating. Our guide, John, was very helpful, relaxed, and nice to talk to.
Picked up bright and early to begin the trek. Syam let us keep our extra luggage/packs at his house so that we only needed to pack and bring our day packs on the trek. It was about a 45-50 minute drive to the registration office.
GUIDE: Our guides name was Rup. He was outstanding in every way! He kept a manageable pace for us to follow and never made us feel rushed. He encouraged us to take breaks whenever we needed them and offered lots of reassurance during the trek. He lent his hand to me when crossing difficult terrain. He always knew the best path and "footing" to take, so following his footsteps along the way was reassuring. He was so conscious of our needs at every moment; safety, thirst, hunger, letting us know time left until next check point, difficulty of upcoming terrain, etc. Offered to take pictures for us along the way and knew the best photo ops! Always mindful of the environment and even picked up other people's garbage along the way. We can't say enough good things about his service.
PORTERS: Outstanding! Yogi and Sting always made it to our check points to set our stuff up at an ideal location (lunch breaks and camp sites) - they are champions. We always had a set up with the great view and when possible, shade. We appreciated everything they did for us!
FOOD: Some of our best meals while traveling! The meals were always different. Portions were so big that we seldom ate the entire serving. Fresh fruit and beverages were always provided. Water, coffee, tea at all times, and sometimes soft drinks. Our dishes always looked superior to other trekker's meals. We were always excited to see what they were going to cook up for our next meal! Never hungry.
EQUIPMENT: Good quality tent. Amazed and surprised by the thickness of our sleeping pad. Very thick considering we were camping on a mountain! Again, superior to any other sleeping pads we saw other porters carrying along the way. Good quality blow up pillows.
MORALE: The crew we had were always laughing with one another and seemed to be enjoying themselves. On our second night, they built a fire for us. Then we taught them a card game (Crazy 8's) and played cards by the fire. We really, really enjoyed this time with them!
THE SUMMIT: More challenging than either on of us ever imagined, both physically and mentally. We had to push ourselves harder than we ever have before. Having Rup as our guide made it all possible. I don't think I could have done it without him; the last 400 meters before reaching the summit, I didn't think I could go any further. Rup grabbed my hand and basically pulled me to the top! What a hero! Then he led us to a private spot on the summit where we watched the sunrise just the 3 of us.
OVERALL: We had high expectations for the service we were going to be provided with, and those expectations were far exceeded. We were always happy, and when comparing to other trekking groups along the way, we were thankful to have chosen the way we did. I would highly recommended booking your Rinjani Trekking trip with Syam Trekker.

We highly recommend you to book your trekking here! Symtrekker is a professional organisation with excellent service. We had the 2 day - 1 night private tour. At your day of arrival you get a short briefing of the trekking and you stay at a small basic cottage (diner included). The owner Syam is a very friendly guy.
The trekking included 1 guide and 2 carriers for e.g. the food and sleeping material (its impressive how they carry so many weight during the trekking on their Flip-flops!). The guide Ahyar and the carriers were absolutely great and we really felt like we were treated as kings during the trekking. They were a good team in preparing nice food, building our basecamp and mostly making sure that the only thing we had to worry about was the trekking itself ;-).
Thanks again Syam and your team!

Great family business for Rinjani National Park!
Honest and clear people, Syam offers packages for beginner and advanced trekkers, and better price I could find in Senaru (better place where start the trekking in my opinion).
I have spent wonderful time with Syam and his family, I have been welcomed as a friend, it doesn't happen often in a place where several people assault you to offer you the "best experience at the best price" (if you've been in Indonesia you know what I'm talking about).
He is an excellent guide and organiser,
I will go back for more exploration with them next season.
It worths every single dollar I spent.

We had already read the reviews on this site, but luckily it was all true, what a top organization and our a guide is Mr.Moon, if you go to Mount Rinjani ask for him!
We had one very nice group of people, then was top! The journey is hard, you really do need to get the condition!
Tip: take some extra socks and beanie, scarf and gloves it sounds corny but if you are like me caters to it may just care All in all a great experience. The trip with Syam Trekker certainly the best.
