The actual Rinjani trek itself was definitely hard, but Azmi and his team gave us a really good experience. Their prices were the most affordable among the others we asked quotes for, yet we were really taken care of well and everything we got was top notch. We were picked up smoothly from the airport and returned to senggigi after the end of the trek, shacked up at a comfortable, beautiful accommodation before the trek. The food during the trek were always delicious, and unlike a friend's feedback another tours, we did not get food poisoning/diarrhea once. The tents and sleeping bags were clean and we even had tables and chairs set up for all our meals (with bintang beer at night!). Our guides and porters were friendly, always helpful and accommodating with all our little requests and fun to be around. When you're in such a tough trek it is really nice to be looked after and pampered at some moments! The only thing is that we found that our leading guide was not as patient in helping the slower ones in the group who actually need more help and tend to go with the faster ones. We were left with a less experienced guide who tried his best to be helpful but nevertheless was not as knowledgeable. But anyways it was not a big deal as the tracks are self-explanatory, and all other aspects of our experience were really good. We're really glad we chose Rinjani Samalas for our trip

Rinjani samalas tour has made our trip a wonderful and memorable event. With Sofi as our guide, his team ensured we made it to the summit even though we're behind schedule, and ensuring we're safe throughout the whole trip.

Honestly the thing that was the best to me about this tour group was the fact that it was very family oriented. Upon my arrival, I went around town with Rana, who as I understand it is the family patriarch. I was traveling alone and Rana was easily the best part of my experience with Samalas. He came walking with me to the waterfalls, but upon my arrival in Senaru I was very hungry from my long trip beforehand, so he first brought me to have lunch with his family! His wife cooked an amazing meal for me, and she sent us off with treats for our "trek" and with bananas for the monkeys. The waterfalls, for the record, are not a difficult trek, but they are truly remarkable.
The accommodation that was provided to me in Senaru was amazing and very peaceful. They had a working farm, and Rana and I went foraging together and picked food for dinner. This was a really amazing experience.
This is less to do with Samalas as a trekking company and more to do with the Rinjani hike itself: IT IS VERY DIFFICULT. Not many of the guides will wait for those in the group who are slower. I'm very grateful that I was keeping pace with many of the guides, and did not end up alone. My advice would be to find someone who will go at your pace. The other thing to note is that the ground is often not stable. I fell through the "path" at one point and hurt my knee pretty badly, and with all of the tour groups operating on the mountain, not one of them had proper First Aid. It would be a huge advantage if the Samalas guides carried even something like antiseptic in the event that something happens.
I went up the mountain with Adi, who was truly amazing and open to discussing many aspects of Sasak culture with me, which made the experience much fuller. Samalas was also very conscious of the environment, and we picked up any and all garbage that we saw along the way, and they didn't participate in a lot of the partying that was done by many of the other groups. Many guides were going up with beer and with music in their packs, but they were very conscious of the fact that we were there to experience the mountain, and that required quiet contemplation. Which I agreed with and appreciated. All in all they were really excellent. The porters were incredible and very kind. I really can't say anything negative about my experience with this family.

Just came back from a 4d3n trek up Rinjani and the crater rim and lake...what a wonderful experience! The view up the mountains and by the lake is stunning even though the climb was at times hard. Our friends have already seen some of our pictures and wished they'd come along with us. The whole trek has been made enjoyable thanks to our guide, Kartono, and the team of porters who looked after our well being all through the trek. Kartono provided us with explanations along the trek and took care of everyone, ensuring we went to a pace that was ok for each one of us. The porters, even though had a huge weight to carry, always had a big smile on their face, giving us courage to proceed with the climb. If you are looking for a friendly and experienced team, I would recommend Rinjani Samalas Tour & Trekking to anyone. THANK YOU and keep up the good work.

Great food and hospitable locals! The view is definitely worth the climb! However, the most important element of the trip (not talking about the heat and cold) that made it totally awesome was our guide, Kartono, and the porters! They were really friendly and went over and beyond in providing their service, ensuring safety, comfort, as well as the enjoyment of the trip. Shoutout to them! :-)

Me and my boyfriend had an amazing adventure at mount Rinjani with Rinjani Samals Tour & Trekking. Despite we didn't expect the difficulty of the trekking our guide Sofie(Supri) and the team made of the 3 nights and 4 days an incredible experience. The food and tent was always ready for us at the time we reached the camping site. Thanks to Dolla and Iwan for the great food, it was better than going to a restaurant. Highly recommended.

Excellent service and attention. We had a track guide named Lin followed by 2 porters that carried much of our baggage. The guide was well informed of the place's history and the track to and back from summit. Above average service compared to the other guides we noticed that were leading other groups to the summit. Thanks for the good memories.
