This place should be advertised better because the food was one of the best I have tried in Gili Air. Being a foodie, for the 7 days I was in Gili Air I have tried majority of the restaurants and I still think this one was way above the average. They only open from 6pm onwards and because of the location and low light, people hardly notice it. I have been recommended by a local girl. Like other review said, they really make effort to their food, and the guy explained to you what the ingredients were for each dish, a service you mainly get from Michelin starred restaurants. I high recommend everyone to give a try!!!

Although the place looks creepy at night, but their food is the best in the island. Good food, humble & friendly owner, nice presentation of their plating. Every night eat here 👍. Also, the price is very cheap. And don't forget to order their mango pudding desert. So yummy 😍😍😍😍😍

We were invited to this really nice eating place & I think this it’s one of the best in Gili Air. Meals were priced better than most other restaurants and the presentation was impressive. Vegetables were fresh & the smokey flavours of the chicken and fish were subtle and unique. The mango seaweed pudding with light coconut sauce was simply divine and highly recommended. They even have fresh home made ice cream from unique local fruits. If you are traveling to Gili Air Raja Rasa is well worth looking for.

Best place in Gili Air by far. Forget the warungs and definetly the beach fancy tourist spots, if you are looking for real good food! They only open the evenings and some dishes you have to order one day in advance! Incredible!

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant... it's special in every sense of the word. My first night here (I went here three), the owner, Mohammad, came and sat with me for an hour, talking about his food, his life, and his mission. His passion for his cooking is clear - the way he lights up when he talks about where he sources these unique ingredients or how he uses them... how he can't help but smile from ear to ear when you say how much you enjoyed your meal. There is love in this food - it is obvious; you can taste it. There is also a love of every ingredient, and an understanding of how to use each one to its fullest potential - something only a great cook knows how to do.
Coming to this restaurant was by far one of the best parts of my trip to Indonesia. There is a beautiful energy here that radiates with community and compassion. To anyone going to Gili Air, I couldn't recommend a better place to go, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Just to add on - plenty of amazing vegetarian options! The way he uses vegetables is unlike anything else I have ever experienced, and I'm sure if you sit a while, he will tell you where he finds them and how he uses them, just like he did for me. Thank you so much for such an amazing experience at your beautiful restaurant. It really embodied something I believe in... that food is love.

The best local food i ever had! Everything is homemade ;-) The owner is really talented cooker who tells you about the food with love.
You should taste M A N G O puding....the best desert :-)

Honestly the food here has been the best I've had in Indonesia. The family is really kind and they really care about the food they serve. I'm looking forward to go back to this restaurant.

We went to Raja Rasa following a recommendation by our host. The food was amazing and delicious. We had several traditional dishes, drinks and desserts. The host was very friendly, explaining everything to us and compared to the other touristic restaurants it is real and warm there. We definitely will return and thank the family who runs the place all the best.

Don't let the unassuming look of the place put you off!
We had an amazing meal here and the family came out to discuss their lives, cooking and local travel tips.
The food was tasty, fresh, authentic and the cheapest we had found on Gili Air. It was our favourite meal from our entire trip around Bali. Would definitely go back.

The food is amazing! Try the Ikan or Ayam Bakar Taliwang and you will feel heaven in your mouth. On top of it the owner is super friendly and the place is cousy.

Love this place...traditional food made with such care and love. The deserts are so creative and amazing to taste...pumpkin pudding with vanilla custard and one fruit seeds (I forget the type) with little white jellies. Best to order ahead, especially if want the Nasi Bakar which takes 6 hours to prepare :-) so so good!

Raja Rasa means "king of taste" and is not an understatement. Mohammed the head chef is so lovely always explaining his dishes and how they prepare them! Their food is so fresh and delicous with the best ingredients! Nasi bakar is delicious as well as the amazing dessert specials that change from time to time. Homemade ice cream with all sorts of flavors. He really cooks for the passion of cooking not for the business

I loved this place! Stopped by for some homemade ice-cream one evening which was delicious. Decided to com back the next day to try out the food. It was so good, returned everyday to try something else. Food was consistently excellent. Fresh ingredients and intense tastes. Muhammed takes great pride in his food and the prices are great. For me, the best food around.

Food is so fresh and delicious here. We ate two nights in a row. Had the nasi goreng, sate ayam and grilled chicken in taliwang sauce. Might i add how fresh the chicken is. Bit of a wait but well worth it. Owners are lovely.

The vegetarian Nasi Goreng is the best we've had in Indonesia!! The Gado Gado also great. Loved the place and the owner. Definitely coming back!
