The view when you reach the summit will dissolve all your worries, fatigue and hunger. It was a memorable hike, an eye opener and experience that I can never forget.

Jaya Trekker was engaged on this expedition, including the porter and trekker.

The breakfast/lunch/dinner was beyond my expectation, every single plate served will be wiped out clean apart from the chicken bone and fruits.

For rookie like me, you might want to consider this:
- Proper footwear
- A stick
- Sunblock
- Cap/hat/bandana
- Heat pack(it can get really cold at night)
- Head light
- Face mask
- Wet wipes

All in all, it was totally worth it!

For those planning on conquering Mount Rinjani, all the very best guys! πŸ’ͺπŸ˜‰

Rinjani 3.676 meters above sea level. One of the best view volcano I've ever seen.

Pros:
Relatively easy to climb (no need any special equipment - just good shoes and hiking stick). Really, really beautiful view of sunrise or sunset or even the day it self. There are lot source of water. Lot of cheap porter. There are hot spring as well. Good food and lot of package option if you hire travel package. I will be there again this year.

Cons:
From airport took 3-4 hours to Sembalun or Senaru the starting hiking spot. No bath room at the top so you have to bring your own wet tissue or build your temporary bathroom. Cold and windy (sometimes), off course it is a mountain dude.

You actually don't need a guide to find the path, just follow the trash. A guide was blaming the Asian tourists and told me that they go every week to pick up trash, but I saw himself picking up a sandal and throwing it deeper into the bushes. They understand that many tourists don't like the trash, but I am afraid that most of them are not aware of the damage they do to the nature. The carriers drink a lot of red bull and eat those tamarind candy. You can find the little bottles and plastic wrap everywhere.
Nature, I give 5 stars, it was an amazing scenery and there are many different sites.
Do not go alone if you are not experienced. It is easy to misjudge ones energy and the need of water. At night it gets really cold.

Wow what a place. Advice is to not underestimate the trek. It is tough and you will get little sleep on the mountain. The worst bit is when you are nearly on your knees and a porter comes strolling past in flip flops carrying 30kg. Those guys are superhuman. The views are amazing. From the crater to the lake to the hot springs and the morning glimpse of the gillis.
Only one issue and it has been said by many, trash at all the rest stops. Indonesian attitudes need to change and infrastructures should be put in place to deal with waste disposal.

Amazing BuT please CLEAN IT! Use the fees we pay to educate people and not to throw litter and πŸ’© everywhere... other than that amazing view from the top. DIFFICULT hike ;-) Paid 1,2M for 2 people including the night before starting the trek (that was just a few years ago)

Amazing view! one of the best hiking I had. We chose to hike for 3day2night. Set camp at the ridge for the first night, hoist before dawn, climb down and set camp at lakeside for the second night. You can enjoy the hot spring on the way too. And then for the 3rd day, climb over the ridge and head back. The hoisting was exhausting but totally worth it

One of the most challenging treks you will be embarking on. Training is definitely required if you want to enjoy the few days up there.
You would be staying in tents, and truly experiencing true outdoor hiking and trekking. The guides and porters are a must. The porters not only help you setup the tents and cook delicious food throughout the whole hike, but they also can help you carry your belongings for a small fee.
They have the 3D2N trek, but it might be a little rushed and taxing on your legs, so I would recommend to take the 4D3N trip. Plus you get an extra night camp out at the crater camp site. Expect strong winds and absolutely mind blowing number of stars.
Do not be like most hikers, misled by the short time, coz it is the intensity and steepness of the trek that will tax you. The last stretch (1km or so) would really be a true test of your grit. Push on and stick with your guide.
The view up at the summit is well worth it.

Amazing place and most difficult trek I have every attempted to conquer without any doubt. But if you are not able to do the whole summit and lake still decent fitness person would able to reach crater and enjoy the breath taking views of the lake.

The sad thing is people throw litter everywhere and it make bit unpleasant specially around the camping site at crater. Night time can be cold and windy so better prepare for that. Another important thing, if you are trekking on dry season better bring mask as it is very dusty most of the trail.

Anyone who haven't done any difficult treks, please do enough training before attempt this.

So far the most memorable trekking experience I ever had. Unbelievable and magnificent views. It was very tough but worth every single step. Some advice to those who contemplate this "journey", be fit physically and strong mentally. We did the 3D2N trip from Sembalun to Senaru Village. My rough estimate we travers around 35km in total. Good to bring extra trekking sandals especially after using your shoes for quite sometime.

My true challenge of my trip to Rinjani and it didn't disappoint. Most amazing trek I have ever done, with almost too much sights to remember.
Great times, thx Rudy Trekker!

It's an amazing experience trekking mount rinjani! The view is breathtaking! And the satisfaction is beyond words. U need to do lots of training n be well prepared. It will be a dirty trip with volcanic ash all over your face but it will be well worth it.

Amazing and stunning view!
Going to the summit is tough. Other than that, the trek is not so bad.
Just need to have a good stamina.

What a nice place for wasting time. I wanna stay here for a week but I have my limit. Enchanting scenery by it's savana, dessert, lake in the middle, and summit. I need 2 days for summit. Natural water provided till 4 hours before summit. Many foreign and local tourist here. You need many needs for survive, so you must bring heavy load. If you can't bring heavy load, you can use local guide for bringing it. You won't be dissapointed here. I promise.

One of the most picturesque mountain scenery in Indonesia. Tough and long hike, but my five days trekking was fully rewarded by the hot spring in the lake, thousand of beautiful memories stored safely on my compact flash, spending one peaceful night at the edge of the lake and summit the Rinjani peak.
