Bali, Indonesia is my number one holiday pick and Gili Trawangan is cherry on the cake. Gili T is an island which is a beautiful 2 hour boat ride from Bali.
The island is a paradise, but now with a lot of tourists coming in it’s becoming crowded and dirty.
All commute on the island is by horse cart or bicycle, waters are clean and clear except for the beach ear the main market area.
Get a villa near the beach and you will not need anything else, just relax, swim, sunbath and drink.

pretty beach, pretty place, clean fresh air, and clear ocean, also lots of nice people, great foods, great drinks, love this place a lot!! I would visit here over and over again for vacation. best island if you just want to chill and relax.
must go here for a party by the beach
recommended to ride bike so you can bike while enjoying the view.

The best place to travel and forget about everything in the city. The view is amazing, with beautiful beach and white sand. There are a lot of activities to do, from horse riding along the beach, cycling around the island, snorkeling and swimming with turtle at turtle point, and having fresh sea food at night market. Totally recommended.

Overrated island. Everything is overpriced and the beaches are too filthy and crowded. The infrastructure is poor. If it rains the whole day expect to walk in swamps of water. Also the locals who work at the bars are not friendly. I had a bad experience at Jiggy. They drugged my drink at their boat party. Try to avoid this island. If you are destined to go to Gili, then I would recommend Air or Meno over Trawangan. They're more relaxing islands and not as congested with people and horses. The gym on Gili Air is really nice too. Overall, I found everything on Gili T to be dirty, from the ambiance to the people. I will never go back there again.

Absolutely beautiful beach with clear and calm waters, cool entertaining bars and pubs, snorkeling and diving activities. This is the kind of trip that you can plan alone or with groups, in couple as well. It goes easy on the budget with nice, laid back and easy going vibes..hope the beaches stay the way it is

Nice island, you can party or relax if you want to. The roads are... Not the best so be careful. During rainy season it gets really muddy and slippery.
You can walk or bike around. There are also horses but please don't encourage that. They don't treat them well (why I removed one star).
Good beaches when you walk about 20 minutes and nice little beach bars. I enjoyed the nightlife there.

It such a small island but I really enjoyed my time there. No cars, just horse taxis but everything is also walkable. The beaches are very nice and you can snorkel everywhere to see turtles. So many bars and restaurants so it's hard to choose where to go first. And the night market is wonderful with all local food, fish meat and vegetables it's a very nice vibe there in the evenings.

I've visited this island once. In Gili Trawangan, make sure you go around the island finding the great spots that has no crowd and also find the spot that has perfect water and sand; if you don't do that and just staying in just several place nearby the crowd, you may probably be disappointed. So, let's be slightly tired by going a bit farther around the island to find the perfect spot :). This island is very nice place to unplug yourself and get relax...

Small island that have so much fun, you can chill, drink, dance, eat much seafood with your best friends. You can rent a bike to cycling around the island, enjoy the sunset and more. Very recommended if you rent private boat if you go in group. Please keep it clean if you wanna visit this place.

Very very cool place. It was refreshing to be somewhere with no motorised transport. The only way to get around the island is to walk, cycle or catch a ride in a horse and carriage. There are countless picturesque swimming locations, bars on the beach and restaurants. There were only two complaints I have with Gili T, one being the roosters that woke me up at the crack of dawn, and the other is that I wish i could have stayed longer!

Having so much fun in here. I know it's a small island with so many visitors but still a beautiful one. No machinery vehicle, only bicycles and chariots allowed.

This place just make my birthday so special! I am happy that I decided to come here with my good friends, we had a good time and enjoyed our stay. I know there is a lot of thing need to be improved so i hope government will put more attention to this place.

If you are not prepared you might be shocked on arriving. The island is very small and there is no other transportation than horse carriage and bicycle. Carriage prices difficult to bargain but try. The attraction here is snorkeling and diving. There is 100% chance to swim with turtles. If you really interested in it do not choose one of the cheaper solution but go with one of the dive centers. The cheaper one are a tourist trap they do not care about real snorkeling. They will take you to the other island for lunch to get there fee for it. Otherwise a lovely island but only for those who tolerate simple tourism with lower infrastructure. Do not expect the same kindness from locals than in Bali.
