I had an accident and got some stitches in this clinic. I want to say thank you. My panel doctor who follow up on my wound said you did a very good job with the stiches. It heals nicely. Thank you.

The prices are ridiculously inflated. They tried to charge me for a rabies vaccine quadruple than the price in Ubud, claiming that they were the only place on Lombok who has the vaccine. I went to a public hospital and with a few phone calls they found me a pharmacy where I could buy the vaccine and then charged me reasonably for the injection service. Prices go like this: Ubud care clinic 400 000 rupiah for the verorab vaccine (injection and other fees not included), while Blue island clinic asked for 1 600 000 for the vaccine!!!!!! In the regular pharmacy I paid only 230 000!!! The additional service charges in the hospital were only 155 000, so in total less than 400 000, 4 times cheaper than Blue island clinic. Don't let them turn healthcare into greedy capitalist system!!!!!!!

Didn’t get the right treatment!
I visited here after suffering from diarrhoea, nausea and headache. The staff were friendly, a doctor saw me straight away. He assessed my by listening to my chest, taking my pulse and temperature and talks through my symptoms. He said he felt I probably had a bacterial infection and would prescribe broad spectrum antibiotics. I mentioned that my boyfriend had an amoebic infection and was receiving treatment, so asked if I could’ve caught that from him. They took a stool sample but only tested for amoeba. It was negative. He said I probably had E.Coli so said I should take the antibiotics he suggested.
I have some medical knowledge and know antibiotics aren’t necessarily right for E.Coli. Also, if I have a viral infection antibiotics would be pointless. To confirm the amoebic diagnosis usually 3 tests should be done as samples aren’t always positive first time.
He didn’t want to test for bacteria or virus (I’m not sure why as I had to pay for the test!) and just insisted I have the broad spectrum anti biotic. So I still don’t know what’s wrong and have just been sold medications that may not treat whatever I have.

I have used this clinic at Villa Omboj for many years and have haf satisfactory service at a satisfactory price. I often send my guests there.
I have heard that some people are grossly overcharged there, but I thought it might have been exaggerated.
I have just seen a facebook post from a friebd who was charged rp 6 250 000 for some medicine (400 000), injection (1 000 000), drip (2 500 000). Labs (2 500 000) and 300 000 for observation.
I have saved the photo and will be going there to discuss this with a manager next time I am there.
It is important to have good health care on Gili Trawangan. But inflating prices like this is bad for tourism.
