The place is not well managed and poor maintained. Many of museum objects are not in a good place. Plus, I think each of museum objects should have a proper description, like a brief history or something like that, not only the name of each objects.

The museum with thousands story about Kutai Kingdom in the past. Located in Tenggarong, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan. With statue of Lembuswana at front side. Completed by parking area, souvenir shops and canteens, public toilet. About 3.5 hours from Balikpapan and about 45 minutes from Samarinda. Ticket to enter is really... really.... reasonable.

The ticket cost 5.000/kids, 10
000/adults, and 20.000/foreigners.
The place is good, but some of the statues are very old and not well managed. Take the diorama area for example.
This place could use a guide to help tourist walk through the area
The museum have a set of collection of borneo's batik, weapons, old money, dioramas, and old antiques from kutai kingdom.
You can also take a photos with lembuswana statue in front of the buildings
The ceramic area underground is a very scary and quiet places.
And if you are into mystique there are a paintings of the kings that is said to have its eyes move following the tourists

A place to learn history and local wisdom. It has a good place but the collection is rather poor and not well cured. I hope that some days it will improve significantly.
