Instagramable place. Far from the city so you have to rent a car if you want to visit here. There is no public transportation nearby. The ojek or transport to go here is expensive. Better you rent a car, it is cheaper.

good tourism attraction in Jogjakarta. The view from the top of the mountain was very amazing. as you can see all the super green forest surounded by Manoreh Hills. Mandatory visit if you were in Jogja.

Place where Indonesians like to pay top dollar (well rupiah) to get their perfect selfies. The foreigner entrance is expensive at 20k and you get to see about one nice viewpoint for that. If you want to take a picture on the platforms you need to pay extra on top of the entrance fee (starts from 15k). I would recommend avoiding this place and instead just drive around the Kalibiru park, which is wonderful.

There's nothing much to do here apart from sightseeing. If you're not taking selfies from the photo spots, they are not going to charge you money. It took quite an effort for my driver to reach this place because it is located on the Highlands. Only come here if you enjoy taking breathtaking selfies.

Very interesting place for those who love to take pictures. Very calm and cool place. Good facilities with cafe, toilet, musolla and others.

Unique tourist attraction, quite popular amongst social media activists.
Good scenery, nice surroundings and perfect for photography.

Beware of its access road, very very steep and narrow. There are traffic controllers but avoid peak seasons for the best experience.

Amazing view from the top.. you can see Waduk Sermo from above as your photo background.. However, it's quite a long way to go there and you have to walk for about 400m uphill.. You have to pay 10.000 rupiah to go inside, even you have to pay for each photo spots for a minimum of 15.000 rupiah each..

View of Waduk/Dam Sermo from hill top, amazing view in sunset. It located on the hill top. This location can be reached by car or motor cycle, bus not possible. Sometime someone stop your car and telling you about how bad the road a head and how difficult this location to reach then offer you jeep or off road motor cycle, the actual condition is not that bad, my small car able to reach the location, but narrow road with one side is cliff and high climb road make my wife scare, the road only enough for one car but dont worry the officers will control/ arrange the car by radio communication.
Restaurant, toilet, flying fox ( for taking action photo )and parking area.

Yes, it is a good place to relax and enjoy the panorama here.
Information:
- Excellent security service all along the road
- The environment is well-maintained and clean.
- Praying rooms and toilets are available.
- Spacious parking area.
- Pricing list:
*Parking: Rp. 2k (for motorcycle) *Entrance ticket: Rp. 10k/person
*Taking picture on top: Rp. 10k - 15k/person
*If you want to have the service from the photographer, certainly you can. They will take your pictures as many as possible. Then you need to pay 5k for each picture you want to copy to your phone. 4 pictures MINIMUM. But you may take more.

P. S:
Better for you to come here with one friend, at least. So you can take each other photos. Also, if possible, bring DSLR camera or very high quality camera of your phone, so you can save (money and pictures) more - you don't need to use the service from the photographer, they are expensive as hell! Plus, you can save more pictures. Bring with snacks if you would like to. It is a bit difficult to find any good restaurant around.
There are small shops around though.
Kalibiru, Kulon Progo, DI. Yogyakarta.

Great place with great views but it in a middle of nowhere so you have to rent a car to wait for you after you finish the trip...and the locals will rip you off with their jeep ride to the mountain so its better to go with your own scooter

Tri any (17/08/2017 03:13)
great view, 10Kidr for entrance, and 15Kidr for every spot and rendeem each pic for 5Kidr, you shoud be a really good driver to ride to this place the road very rocky and 'nanjak'

Gonçalo Arruda (05/07/2017 05:40)
In my opinion this place is a tourist trap, don't take me wrong, the view is amazing, but there isn't much to do beside taking photos. You pay a fee to get in the park and if you want to take photos from any of the available 8 platforms you will need to pay extra, yes you can always take some photos on your own but they won't look as good as the view may be blocked by the platforms. Keep in mind that Kalibiru is 1:30 hours away from Yogyakarta and if you are not willing to wait in queue to take some photos, you can just walk around the park and it will literally take 10 minutes. This place is avoidable.

PoullyHB Gunharie (05/06/2017 14:54)
Hmmm rame aja... many other place offfer similar view

Hidayat Kurniawan (02/06/2017 05:31)
It has a good view for the landscape and really nice for sunset. But to reach there, the road is so steep. For everyone who wants to go there by them self with scooter, if you are not good enough of riding scooter don't push your self with it. We can use the jeep or bike taxi there, it's easy to find one there

Cynthia Damayanti (09/05/2017 15:05)
Beaaaaaauuutiful scenery!! But in weekends and holidays has too many visitors. Very loooooooooong line to have your pictures take.

Sharul Naim Sallehuddin (02/05/2017 11:20)
A good place to visit while you are in Jogja. Awesome photographic background.
EVERY PHOTOGRAPHY stations MUST be PAID. However, visitors are extremely alot during weekend and long holiday. U might wanna wait 3hours per photo station

hans aditya (11/04/2017 02:02)
Good spot for taking pictures.
Beautiful scenery. Every spot for taking pics cost you about IDR 10.000.

How to get there :
You can always put your GPS on and follow it. You guys need a car or bike to get there. The road will be hilly and some of the road is in bad condition, but it still available to drive.

There will be some people on the road offer you to use JEEP and they will say the road is unsave and extremely dangerous. But for me it's your choice to make, i use toyota avanza and it works just fine. You just need low gear to get to the top and you need to be a really good pro driver.

After you get to the top, you need to hike about 5 minutes. If you a smoker, you'll be fucked like i did. Hahahahah.. anyway have fun guys!

syfadh syed fadhil (04/04/2017 12:33)
As at 4/4/2017, entrance fee rp5,000. U can see a lake from top of kalibiru. Parking fee for car rp5,000.

Yara Tiara (08/03/2017 12:35)
True. It is over rated. Better stop at waduk sermo before going to this place. The road is pretty dangerous, narrow and steep. Especially if you drive a big car. There's nothing to do here except take a few photos and see the green view. I was so disappointed i wouldn't come back!

We spent almost 2 hours on car from city to this overrated national park in the early morning. This place is not well maintained although surrounded by nice natural resources. And the photo booth is too commercialized which can happened in Kedung Pedut as well. The routes inside the "park" is so short, disappointed with the name of national park! I had no comment with the adventure package value with the ticket fee of 35k, but the staffs should be improve in their attitudes and proper explanation to the tourists, instead of looking on their phone and doing their own stuffs in the ticket booth. We felt lost in this place.
In short, sucks.

From Solo took around 3 hrs. Dont forget to use google map, although it pointed small road, it was the shortest cut from Progo river. The view was beautiful. Not only trees but the main point was the small lake just beyond the forest. The road was so steep, better you take either jeep (35k rupiahs return trip, good for around 6 persons) or ojek. If you want to take pictures in one of the 5 spot, come early and avoid weekends and holidays. In just usual workdays I had to wait for 1 hour for the most unpopular spot (didn't have much time, so just ask the operator, which spot has the shortest queue). The costing was okay. Not overpriced as other touristic place. But only once in a life time for me 😁

Wahyuningtyas Puspitasari (02/02/2017 14:32)
Good recommendation to visit, still natural and green. But some good spot to take picture has been commercialized. The visitors should pay to take picture with photographer and facilities from the management but the provided the safe equipment too. The price of food and beverages still normal.

1.5 hours from the city centre of Jogja, but the place offers a magnificent view. Choose from 5 different photo spots and have professional photos taken.

Have as much pictures taken by the professional photographer, it's 20k IDR for 4 photos or 100k IDR for everything the photographer took (Usually around 25-30). No time limit when you're up there, so long as you can think of new poses to strike. You can then choose from the laptop provided which photos you'd like to buy.

They also offer some high elements which are also great photo spots.

If you've hired as driver, call them in advance to make a reservation to take photos, otherwise you could end up with 1-2 hours of waiting time, especially for the popular photo spots.

Photogenic nature spot. Mini flying fox activity and they provide photo taking services that is chargeable but not too expensive. Photos are superb. Must visit for shutter bugs!

laksmita aulia (19/08/2016 18:04)
The very steep road to Kalibiru itself is a challenge but it will be paid off since it has a breathtaking view. Try to come here as early as possible or you'll have to wait for 1 to 2.5 hours to have 5 minutes of photoshoot from the view posts there (the pics you'll get from the view posts are amazing so try not to miss this chance!)

Gisella Thiofanny (02/08/2016 07:39)
the view is really amazing, but i can't stand the crowd. since it's became a tourism spot, people keep on coming to this place (it makes sense ofc).

they have some spots for you to take pictures. you have to pay different amounts of money, according to the spot you choose. my cousin tried their photo package, and the result was disappointed. their picture looks really fake. it seems like you're posing in front of the green screen. i took some better pictures than them. but anyway, the view was great. you can just pay to pose on their spot and take the pictures on your own. it's not that expensive (i guess around IDR 20-35k)

WrackAce Marz (02/08/2016 00:58)
Narrow roads with steep slope, but worthwhile at last to enjoy great view of lake and sea from the hill top. Local professional photographers make some good pictures of you.

Wiyarto Toto (30/04/2016 01:46)
The road to get here is very narrow and need good condition of car or motorcycle due to the road angle about 30 deg.
The facilty is minimum for expatriat but enought for local. You will see waduk sermo, doing flying fox and enjoy the highland. When i was there the tempereture was quite high.

If you like an outdoor place to go, this is the right place you should come when you visit Jogjakarta. you can rent a car from city and drive to kalibiru. or u can go by motorcycle. both takes around 1 hour. but the street to go up is a bit steep. so you should be carefull. you can see a nice scenery from here. but,, not much you can do besides take a pict from the tree.
