This place is amazing it contains alot of history and it got a beautiful view and contains rich and many history.One of a must visit place in a lifetime. But sometimes it is very crowded. You can enjoy the place by just walking.

You just need to spend 15 minutes here since there's nothing much to see besides the monument, the burning sun coz it's in equator.. and don't forget to write your name so the officer can print out the "I was here" certificate.

Quite nice park on the river bank, but can be upgraded if manage bit better.
No entrance fee, which is surprising, as you usually charge a fee, even a small one to support the operational.
The information is quite complete, given most of them are old displays but it serves the purpose.
It could use a little TLC and upgrades but nothing serious to complaint for now.
There are shops nearby. If you go the riverside area, you could find two floating restaurants to relax while zipping a cup of coffee.
It's located quite far from downtown though. So, if you have no time, visit the replica in Alun Alun Kapuas, which is closer to downtown Pontianak.
Oh, don't forget to ask the office in the observatory for your visit certificate :)

Actually a good place to learn about our planet..
Too bad this place is crowded with selfie junkies.. and as long as i observe, none of them seemed to be interested on the information board hanging on the wall..
This park should be more strict to those with selfie sticks and appreciate people that are actually willing to learn more about our planet and the sun.. station at least 2 or 3 staffs to enlighten visitors about the monument and how the science behind it..
How could the management allows people to climb on the equator monument just to take stupid photos..

Visit 21.02.2018: Nothing much, just few explanation, need more renovation to attract more visitor. Still its compulsory to visit if you come to Pontianak coz of its uniqueness

Very unique place, it's about u are standing between North and South Latitude when u are standing on equator line (inside the building)

Equator monument, Pontianak landmark.
Better came here around end of March or September when the sun passed equator.
