Great experience for those who have interest in nature, adventure and wildlife. You can meet and see orangutan in this conservation area

Amazing place to get to know our cousins orangutans and other type of monkeys while going down the river or walking through the jungle. There are several feeding stations where you can see the orangutans twice a day from a bit closer.

Feel love with the nature especially for orang utans. You will see orang utan's feeding. It took 4 hours from the National Tanjung Puting Harbour in Kumai. And you will trekking about half or two hours depending the route that you take. You never regret it! And you will enjoy the view of the Sekoyer river.

No word can describe. You have to visit to see the Orangutan, the only great ape in Asia.

Board an adventure boat into the heart of the national park - meeting face to face with orangutans - sleeping on board by the jungle listening to jungle sounds - watching a million fireflies dance around the mangrove forest in total darkness - seeing the sleepy river part ways between the dark-colored untainted one and the milky one colored by mining activity. It's a place and a trip to visit to understand part of Indonesia's natural heritage.

Best place to get upclose and personal with orangutan

Amazing national park. Deep in the rain forest with opportunities to see rehabilitated orangutans feeding at regular intervals. Worth making a two day trip with overnight on a boat. One day too short and three probably too long.

What an amazing place to reflect, learn about the amazing Orangutans and take in the wild sounds of the rainforest.
I did the 3 night boat tour on a traditional boat- the kelotok- and the mesmerising chacaphonous symphony that is the rainforest in the night is still etched in my mind. From toads and frogs, to the rising and falling drone of the chainsaw cicada, to the early morning call of the gibon the rainforest comes alive in the night.
And the star of the show is the most famous resident- the Orangutan. The feeding stations are a great way to see the rehabilitated ones but I must admit a certain sadness in watching them come back to us for a nutritional boost. Somewhere, we are failing them if they still need treats like bananas - not found in the jungle- to stay alive. Learning about the amazing journey of Dr. Galdikas is humbling to say the least.
