i booked diving with octopus on a whim. the morning of the dive i read the reviews online...i was quite worried to say the least. However, i had nothing to fear. The dive masters were great, the food was delicious (add less samal if you don’t like spice), the dive site SD point was amazing - it was probably in my top three all time favourite dives.
if you’ve been to manta point and crystal bay then ask for another location. they’ll happily take you elsewhere as they did with me.
plus you don’t need to wait for numbers to fill up to go to a location. for my second day of diving i was the only diver going to SD point.
the current is quite strong there, so i wouldn’t recommend for someone without their advanced licensed. But they ask you all the questions about your experience before choosing somewhere.
Finally, the dive master i had, who i unfortunate can’t remember the name of, studied marine biology, therefore was extremely knowledgable about our surroundings.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend octopus.

I dived with Octopus at Manta Point 66 and SD Point. The whole team is really friendly and attentive. I hardly recommend this dive shop! While diving with Abi and Veena I felt safe for the whole time. They behaved super responsibly. The boat was so new and I just had an awesome dive day with super tasty lunch at Crystal Bay. Thanks for this great experience on Nusa Penida.

I had fun because this is totally whole new experience for me, and the assistant help me a lot, beside me almost whole way. And the lunch was so good, i cant believe they prepare such a big meal for us. I was very satisfied :)

We had a great experience diving with Octopus Dive! Our guide was Joshua. They fit us to our equipment, briefed us before we left, handled all of our equipment and set us up for our next dive, gave us a warm and tasty lunch, and the customer service was out of this world! They were all super friendly! They held our bags for us when we searched for a place to stay and then held our bags again the day we left because we took a 3pm ferry. Also, the two Dive spots they took us to, Manta Ray Point and Crystal Bay were amazing dives! Joshua was very attentive to us and was constantly checking to make sure we were ok. We highly recommend them!!

We paid 300k rupias for snorkeling. All in all we spend 2 hours. It was too short. We saw two manta but we could just spend 5-10' in the water and immediately took us to Crystal Bay where you can snorkel on your own- you don't need a boat to take you there. And the last spot was near a ship where they feed fish and you can see them very quickly because the current moves you away. So, just a tourist attraction but not worth it if you really want to see and swim with the manta raya. Lunch was not tasty and quite spicy so we couldn't eat it. Snorkeling was not worth it with them. Maybe diving is better, we don't know.
Recommendation to see manta: take a boat directly from Crystal Bay early in the morning and you could swim with the manta for about 40'. It's cheaper and a great experience!

Diving locations were great: close to the Manta point and Crystal beach. The equipment and team were fine. The instructor was not very useful before/during and after diving. We were 3 divers and didn't know 2 of us had open water certificates and 1 advance. Anyway he let us go below 18meter to 20m, which I've refused due to the depth and strong currents. Even more by the end of the first Dive, struggling with the current close to Manta Point (recommended by advance divers) my oxigen tank was starting to move fast below 50. After giving indication to the instructor to make the move to the surface and hold on 3 mins decompression. He took too long and my regulator started to supply very little oxigen. Normally in such emergency, at this point you ask for your buddy for oxigen supply... I couldn't reach the attention of the instructor next to me, who barely checked on any of us during the entire dive! Worst scenario, feeling with no breath, no communication...I had to reach the surface. Not a pleasant situation seriusly. I give 3 stars due the warmth and genuine help of the whole diving club. Very pleasang people.
