Ordered the coconut curry pork with fresh greens and rice. Curry was not a thick gravy, but just the right consistency that was not overpowering. Would have been tastier if the dishes were served warmer. Ambience was lovely.

The staff was kind enough to sit us at a table, without any reservation, we got lucky. They have a couple daily specials which we decided to get. The food was delicious, with lots of Indonesian traits. We also tried their home made iced tea, pretty good too. Cheap, efficient and tasty, what more can you ask for?

last night was my second visit. this small restaurant offers you very good service with great foods. i ordered special today, pork with lemongrass and dessert crepe chocolate. nothing to complain about. reservation in advance must be made, because this place is always busy.

Delicious food, friendly staff; however, you won’t get any chance to get in in the evening if you don’t have a reservation. Very busy even during the weekdays and that’s because this restaurant has a unique presentation of the menu as well as the prices are pretty good for the location.

Highly recommended and don’t forget to make a reservation in advance.

They have daily specials on the menu 👌

Great food! The restaurant is too small it's almost impossible to get a seat without a reservation during dining/lunch time. The layout is also a bit overcrowded you can't have a conversation without being overheard by the other customer. The menu is updated very frequently (both the price and the availability) they don't bother to provide it in print anymore. Taste-wise, you can't go wrong.

Eat here!! Seriously, do it! Best food and great prices! The staff was lovely. Pick the special, seafood noodles.

Only advice is that they should reevaluate the chalk board menus, they are huge!

Excellent fresh Asian food cooked from scratch. The menu consists of a couple of specials and then a standard menu which provides the option to mix and match curry sauce with meat, tofu, etc. The food was excellent and great value for money.

Pretty much my go to if I want something that will taste great and not break the bank. The coconut milk curry pork with rice is so good. Also the coconut milkshake is divine!

This warung is very popular. You best bet is to book in advance. I went in first and was told no tables. I was just wondering around given it was my first night in Ubud so I popped in about an hour later. They recognised my face and managed to get me a table. I have tried the special - seafood pasta. Maybe I have expected more and was looking for more of Balinese style, I found it just okay. I have also tried the pancake for dessert which was nice but very sweet as all the Balinese food do. Food is all depending on personal taste so don’t take my point to it. The service was awesome though. I was solo. Because I offered to share my table with a couple, the waitress really appreciated that, and deducted my two drinks from the bill in the end. I was quite thankful for it, especially they knew I was rejected when I asked to share a table from another couple earlier that evening :D

We can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The daily specials are amazing, the service is fantastic. Best food we've had in Bali - loved it so much we made a lunch reservation for the next day while we still at dinner!

Nice small restaurant with very friendly staff. Small menu but with enough to keep most people happy. Service is fast. I tried the pork curry with coconut milk and a few extra chillies. If you like it hot you will need to ask for extra spicy. You need to book as it's very busy.

We've been here 3 time is 2 weeks. This place is excellent. Staff here are of a very high calibre. Good wine by Bali standards too.

Stefanie Kwasiborski (07/09/2017 07:17)
It's good. Got a daily special and the beef noodles .Not great but good. We tried to come for dinner, fully booked. We tried to come for lunch at 3, still booked but we got a table finally. Not sure it's worth the hype but we ate everything but this won't be a meal I am likely to remember.

Get a reservation! Just walk up and schedule one because every time we tried to walk in they were booked! The food was really great, very interesting menu, they change it daily so you have a server explain it to you every visit and it's so nice. They serve the ginger ale with fresh squeezed lime juice in an iced cup, it was a refreshing addition to a great meal. Prices are great too, 50-60 K everything

Generally good food and taste. Also staffs are very kind and nice to serve. Menu board is a bit complicated but staffs will help you with pictures. You can try spicy taste but for me, its not that strong. Desert of cream caramel is good, too.

Really nice place, eat is super tasty and the quantity is more than enough.

Price is cheap regarding many other places in Ubud, but make sure you have a reservation or you might not be able to eat in here.

Staff is super friendly.

Helena Twomey (25/07/2017 12:31)
My boyfriend and I went here for lunch. We got the coconut milk curry with rice and side of veg. It was very very tasty and cheap like 60/70,000R! I then recommended it to my friends and they went for dinner they also said it was amazing! Small menu but so tasty! The staff were so nice and explained the whole menu to us. Great spot!

Chris Pham (21/07/2017 00:51)
Very yummy and tasty food. Excellent value. Friendly and welcoming service. Always busy so either book or get there early. Dinner for 2 under A$20

Jennifer Chen (05/07/2017 15:05)
Great things come in small packages! Limited choices, basically curry rice or curry noodle with different protein choices. BUT they do it sooooo well and it's so cheap. Loved both dishes and asking for spicy spicy gave us just enough kick to be wiping sweat off our brows in between bites. Already dreaming of next trip back :)

One severe criticism - the beer did not come in a cold frosted glass. For everything else - superb. Friendly and professional staff. Food was delicious and well presented. Restaurant itself neat and tasteful. We will definately go back there.

Me an my wife went there for lunch, it is not very easy to find this place but if you follow the map its easy. We had the daily special beef with basil and garlic rice and pork with creamy coconut curry. The food was amazing, one of the best we had in Bali so far. Please do not forget to pair this amazing food with Bintang ( Local Beer)

Looks like a simple street restaurant, but the food is so delicious! The menu is simple, so don't choose too much. Just pick anything and you will not regret it! Dinners are nice to share with somebody special.

Mark K (23/05/2017 21:33)
Had dinner with my wife last night. We had to book to make sure we got in.
I had the coconut curry it was fantastic. Wife had the basil chicken noodles. That tasted good too.
Service was fantastic, owner was there a lovely French lady who works hard to please her customers. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Great place for a meal.

Jatin Mistry (18/05/2017 05:57)
We went to book a table for the evening but as they were fully booked we just stayed and had lunch there instead. Absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. Service was very quick and friendly too

Jess Gillett (23/04/2017 03:04)
We were lucky enough to walk in without a reservation and we were so happy with the food, everything was delicious! Even the mild was pretty spicy though so be warned - but it was a nice, warming kind of spicy. I had one of the specials and my friends had curry noodles/rice which were great, big portions too and great service.

Doesn't worth the walking. Seriously. I don't know how it took more than three stars on google maps. I came here for lunch with my wife. It was about 15:30. All free tables had reserved sign on it. But they still managed a table to us. When we left no other table were occupied. Looks they put the reserved sign to choose who can sit and who can't. The place is really small and HOT. Be prepared to melt during your lunch (you, not the wok). The table behind me had a couple with a lady that looked like the owner. She didn't stop to smoke during our lunch. One cigarette after another. In a small and hot place with cigarette smoke on you... provided by the owner herself. Unbelievable! We tried the Cheff suggestion. The food was, at most, average. Nothing special. The only thing above average was the friendly waiters (maybe because I think it was the payday, as from time to time each one received an envelope from the owner)... So I can't sure they are always friendly... but I guess they are.
My final verdict: This place doesn't worth the walking here. And doesn't worth the time you might invest to book a table. You sure will find better places around that you can just walk in and have greater food. I

If you're going to try Melting Wok I suggest getting a reservation first, we we're lucky enough to get there at the right time for the last available table of the night. The room does not have many tables so is highly recommended that you jump in and book it previously. This said, the food is amazing! Full with flavour and richness, specially the curry with coconut milk.
The Chef's special of the day was a mixture of chicken, cucumber, vegetables, coconut and spices, very fresh and tasty. The star is the curry, please try it! Will not hesitate to comeback for the food and the helpful and really nice staff and owner! 🙏👍🏻

There's a reason why it's a good idea to book Melting Wok - its incredibly popular because it's very good. The food is cooked to order to the exact spiciness the you prefer. We found the wait staff really enthusiastic and cared about their food, and the French lady owner is by far the nicest we've met. Add to this a super clean restaurant and rest room makes Melting Wok our favourite.

Joey Zlotowitz (11/02/2017 10:31)
The chicken with coconut milk and pork fried noodle specials were delicious.
Legendary French owner let us in even without reservation (try to come with one if you can as it's popular for good reason).
The staff are lovely and welcoming and the food came out very quickly.
A definite recommendation.

everybody knows this place, however the great days have passed probably. reservations are highly recommended it was even difficult to secure a table 2 days in advance. walking in at 9pm i got the friendly reminder that they close at 10pm. the couple walking in afterwards was just bumped at the door. just came for desert. staff just brought a chalkboard where deserts were to be found. the owner came by and asked if i wanted to have another one. 🙄. i felt a bit revenue-pressured. overall an okay experience but i wouldn't make an effort again to book and reserve. tons of other options along the road in ubud too.

We didn't have a lunch time reservation on a Thursday but they were more then happy to seat us knowing we weren't going to stay all that long. Friendly local staff and polite French owner. Food was very tasty with authentic flavour profiles and plenty of spice when asking for it hot. Overall a place worth visiting with a slightly higher price for same quality food from local warung on the same street. Give it a go.

Very small menu with 2 regular offering and 2 daily specials. All were very well prepared.
Service was excellent. Only compliant is that the portions were small.
Must make reservations in advance.

Great food, friendly French owner. We had their specials for the day and the chicken with grated fresh coconut was a definite winner. Love the ambience. Reasonable prices especially. Will be back!

This place is amazing. It is a small place, so if you want to have dinner there it is best to make a reservation. The owner and staff are really friendly, which is always a positive thing for me. As for the food they serve... everything is delicious. They have a small fixed menu of main dishes and two daily specialites. No matter what you choose, you can't go wrong. Portions are proper and the price is cheap for what you get. They always ask you how spicy you want your food and if you have any allergies. They also serve five different deserts. Try creme caramel, it is amazing. Oh and their juices are great as well. Papaya was my favourite.
