Went there with my partner to get some paperwork we needed. It was very fast and easy. Very impressed with the level of security.

Very poor service and rude staff in the fort desk!

It was a positively unpleasant experience.
I had to wait outside in the sun for 8 minutes before any of the 4 people inside "the Bunker" would talk to me. They were abrupt & demanded I put my Australian passport against the glass to prove ID & then they couldn't read it so all 4 of them inspected it. They then asked what I wanted & I told them I had an appointment to obtain a new passport. They said -not possible-- not on the list. They telephoned someone then let me into the Bunker after 20 minutes in the sun.
Pat down search, explosives & drug test, Xray machine of handbag & then personal Xray machine. They take your mobile phone & car keys . I'm happy for the security but they are really abrupt.
Then they tell you to go through a door to ????. No real instructions, they assume you know the way. You need to exit a bomb proof door that was so heavy, I could not push the handle down to open it. I put my shoulder to it & it barely budged. The 4 guards made no effort to help until I told them I couldn't open the door. It was the same on the way out.
Finally you go to a cashier area where there are no instructions on what to do & your appointment time is already 30 mins late . Finally the man behind the glass screen talks to you. It wasn't great & he rejected my just taken photos as he did to the man in front of me.
So off for more photos back again, by which time it's lunch & consulate closes although they let us in. More waiting. Left home at 9.30 am & got back at 3.00 pm. 3 weeks later still don't have new passport & have very specific instructions NOT to call. They will call me.
not an experience I want to repeat although I guess I will if I am able to pick up new passport

The guards said no but I showed them an email and they had someone talk to me on the phone. They explained everything clearly and patiently. Impressive!
