it's more focus on news paper and news reporter along the historic freedom movement. Rooms occupied by the copy of newspaper front page, but the personal activities along the movement not so many explored.

Good place to visit in Padang. You can also relax around the park. There are benches and a lot of trees.

Everything about minang, from the beginning of the newspaper before the era of Indonesia's independence, until art and custom Minang tribe are all there. There are earthquake museums and earthquake monument as well. You must come to visit when you in Padang city.

Nice (and also ridiculously cheap) museum. One room about Mentawai, one about Minang architecture, one about Minang traditions (mostly jewels display) and a last one showcasing a collection of pictures from 2009 earthquake.

Great museum! There are a lot of things to see, 1h is enough to spend there. Also do a picture infron of the main building. The fee was 3k rupiah

The traditional museum of Padang. Showing a glimpse of how does it like to live as a local, the big traditional Rumah Gadang, which is amazing, and lots other stuffs. A must for tourist.

Great Minang indigenous architecture on display in this museum. Good place to learn about minang tradition, culture and history. Visitors also can learn about mentawai society.

This museum is about 100m from the entrance.
The entry fee is currently Rp 3000.00.
It has a Minangkabau architecture, nicely crafted.
There are many Minangkabau exhibits, most related to tradition.
There is also a display of a family tree in which a detailed explanation is given on how to determine the closest next of kin with regard to tradition.
Downstairs there are more exhibits with wider scope of coverage.
There are adjacent buildings which show Mentawai tradition, exhibits from other Indonesian islands and Earthquake coverage in September 2009. This photo display is really heart-breaking.

The museum is worth your 2k rupiah. Inside there is an earthquake museum dedicated to 2009 disaster in west sumatra

Museum about minangkabau culture. This museum has free Wi-Fi connection inside. Need more improvement in facility, but worth to visit for 2000 IDR ticket price.

I was searching for museum in Padang West Sumatra, and can only find this museum. It contain the history of Padang but just like other museum in Indonesia it is not well maintain and not too interesting.

Good local museum, the entrance fee is quite cheap. There are a lot of history items of the provinces and the west sumatra area.

Entry fee is very cheap (3000Rp) and there are some nice items on display. Most display descriptions are written in indonesian, so may be tricky for non speakers to understand details about the displays

This place takes you the the Beauty of Minangkabau (West Sumatera). One step further knowing West Sumatera culture. Approachable, good security (for parking), friendly guide at the front desk, super cheap ticket, and you may capture your memory there.

The museum is a great place to bring family for both Kodak moments and also educational educational experience. Architecture is stunning and it's easily accessible from the other hotspots in Padang. Free Wi-Fi and a QR based museum app means you get a better background on the exhibits themselves, which lack plain old written notes. Totally worth the Rp 2000 (approx USD 0.15) entrance fee
