I lived here only for a month and my experience was quite memorable. I had the freedom to go and come around at anytime of the day. You’re allowed to get visitors too until 10 pm. There are bbq pits, a gym, a swing and good seating available. The place is really quite and peaceful. The pantry is huge but it needs to be cleaned more often. The staff is friendly. The rates are a bit high but you’re assured your personal space. The rooms are available as per your choice and has attached washrooms. The nearest MRT is Steves or Botanic Gardens. Mr Prata is located right next to it and is open 24x7 for delicious food. They also provided breakfast during the weekdays. Good stay.

YOHA Evans - A complete sham and incredibly rude office staff. I was standing in the shower when the sink fell off the wall narrowly missing my foot as I caught it! Had I not caught it the bathroom floor would be carpeted in a million ceramic shards, so frankly I did them a favour by saving the basin.
I reported this the Saturday it happened to the warden on duty (as the office is not open on weekends-funny considering this is a hostel designed to cater to international students). He told me it would be fixed on Monday. Come Thursday I approached the office in the small time I had when I wasn't at work or studying to encounter the rudest woman I have ever met. She essentially told me either I pay for it or it doesn't get fixed and I pay for it anyway.
NOTE the point of the inventory room sheets guests are required to sign is purely to make them liable for the faulty rooms and features objects such as a mirror that aren't even in the room.
Regardless off the sink debacle yoha at evens resembles a refugee camp. With a kitchen/laundry room where the dryers don't work and the fridges are used to cultivate mould like it's a goddam science project. On the topic of mould the rooms are full of it! Bugs litter the ceiling there are traces of rats also ! (If I could attach images I would!).
We paid extra for sheets in our 6 week stay which consisted off a top sheet on a mattress that upon inspection looked like it was pulled from the street. I now have a horrible skin condition that I didn't have before I came. Many rooms have incredibly poor ventilation and specks of mould pattern the mattresses.
I will just emphasise it again, the office staff are intolerablely rude. With payment systems set up to rip you off. The gym is not included and has extremely limited equipment. There is no kind of housekeeping I have ever seen and many rooms have a natural foul odour. For this price one could bargain for a hotel stay! The laundry machines require a 30 dollar non refundable deposit on the card and to dry anything is impossible between the ineffective dryers and humidity in the rooms.
The complementary breakfast consists of a lot of bread with spread and a dozen hard boiled eggs for the entire population of the site (easily 200). Upon my school attempting to rectify the matter with the sink they where met with levels and levels of rude and combative people with interest purely in getting my money.
As an expat and a law student they can count themselves lucky the basin didn't fall on my foot and injure me as the proceeding cost to them would far outweigh the money they are attempting to scab from me.
Frankly the only good thing about this site is mr pratta next door. I recommend the murtabah but this is a venue exclusive to yoha. So do yourself a favour for your health and wallet and avoid the hostel at all costs!

It is almost a year since we came here,here beautiful environment,facilities,security strong, convenient traffic,that is,the network signal is poor, the other can also be, my friends ang I like it here.

NEVER EVER STAY HERE: My experience was that it is a fleecing defrauding machine where you will be forced to sign a contract full of traps and if you refuse to sign it, they will compel you to pay them the rate of a high-end hotel for their dump hostel (they charged me over 550 dollars for 5 days). The WEBSITE IS A HIGHLY MISLEADING TRAP and the staff behave like professional conmen. I have stayed in Hostels all over the world but this was ten times worse than the worst. Do yourself a favor, pay more but don’t ever stay here. Tiny rooms, no kitchen, pathetic staff, no privacy, isolated living, horrible internet and on top of all, a contract which is like signing your own death warrant. #noyonoha #trap #worstexperienceever

I feel so sorry for all of you that still staying at this place knowing that it is such a rip off. Do some research or find an agent, for this price range you can find a nice condo/HDB to stay.

yo:HA Evans is a great place to stay for students. It has a beautiful and quiet atmosphere. Staying here will make studying an enjoyable experience.
