Dimsum buffet on weekdays is very worth it. They have wide range on the menu with loads to choose from. I would recommend steamed custard bun with salted egg yolk, prawn and mango sesame fritters, and the mango pudding is a must!

Dim Sum restaurant in the heart of Chinatown. It's one of the few places still going around with the trolley to allow you to choose what to eat on the spot. "While for lunch the place is always crowded and the food is nice, I avoid to have dinner here as they are serving only food "a-la-carte" loosing the authenticity of the place.

The environment is good but the food just so so. Order 4 dishes plus drink costs S$27. And porridge only serve in breakfast and lunch time. Disappointed.

Had one of the worst racist experience. I am a Korean, and I visited the place with my family. We ordered food, but we got nothing on our table for 30 minutes. Other tables got their food even though they came later than us. (The other tables were Chinese.) We complained, but all we got as answer was some Chinese words, which we assumed to mean "Wait." My parents were so disappointed and angry, that we paid the bill and walked out of the restaurant even though we had nothing. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Giving 5 stars just in case they delete my review.

Great place for dim sum at lunch time. Very Chinese busy but great service. No air conditioning but fans keep it cool. Great atmosphere and very reasonable bill at the end. Might be worth booking ahead.

Centrally located, filled with tourist during peak period. Food is good, reasonable portion & pricing, service is OK. However popular item may need some waiting time.
Should have pushcart service. Reservations is highly recommended.

Fantastic variety of dim sum. All the dim sums that I've ordered are delicious! The Meat Dumpling in Chilli Oil and Scallop Rolled in Filo Dough are just a few I've tried.

Food was not bad (fresh) but not fantastic. Push cart style, typical dim sum restaurant. Big space & good for big family. Probably the most popular dim sum in Chinatown area.

Good service, some pretty tasty dim sum (even compared to the ones in SoCal). Crystal chives and squid ink seafood dumplings highly recommended.

Quite a traditional dim sum restaurant with carts being pushed around for your selection. The custard egg yolk pau is great. Overall, the dim sum is of a rustic feel. This is a painting done in broad strokes. Do not expect fine dining here.

The food was tasty but go here at your own peril they add on lots of hidden costs... They charged us to use the chopsticks!! The dim sum were very nice but if you do go here I would stick to just that - a la carte gets expensive very quickly . Cost us S$100 for 2 people . Very disappointed with the hidden charges. Wanted to give 1* but the food was tasty just very poor value

I love this dim sum restaurant so much. Everything is nice for me especially the egg tart, the thing that I like the most in this restaurant. The design of the design of the restaurant is typical Chinese design that I think match with the restaurant name. I really enjoy to have dim sum over here.

Food is good. Ample seats. Place is a little hard to find as it is located on the second floor up a flight of stairs beside a shop. Environment is not the cleanest and the furnishing is old. Gives a nostalgic feel.

Old time institution that maintains great standards in service and taste. One might dismiss it as a touristy place with its central location and pushcart serving but the taste alone is enough to draw local crowds.
Service is fast and pleasant!

Disappointed with the buffet service
1) Called on Monday to ask for booking and price, and the staff did not inform of the ongoing promotion.
2) When we enter at 3pm, floor manager inform us that we can't order the dish we want because it is by mass serving. At 4pm, everyone that came in is ordering according to their dishes. (Note: Clarified with manager, you can order the dish you want for buffet)
3) We order scallops with Yum Cha Salad Sauce after seeing that it was served at 4pm on other tables. At 4.20pm, the dish still have not reach us. We clarified and at 4.30, they informed that it had run out of stock. (The buffet started at 3pm)
4) feedback to manager, she tried to apologise, offer us to order other food and gave us 20% discount for all four pax.
5) food taste as usual

Selection are quite limited for dim sum but what they offer are very good. Nice atmosphere for gathering. Speed of service are quick. Recommended.

I like this place a lot. It has the traditional feel where the waiters and waitresses pushing the food cart selling dim sum. The dim sum dishes are tasty. And there is a lot of variety. It can be crowded by the service is still fast. The only issue is it is located at level 2 and the lift is not working when I was there. So elderly who is on wheelchair and walking aid may not be suitable.

standard taste, high price

The street food is GREAT. The relic temple is a must see. One of the best interpretations of Buddha's life I have ever seen. The orchid garden at the top is not to be missed.

Terrible service. Had a couple of carts pushed near our table so managed to grabbed some dimsums. After that was just a waiting game. Had to waved for waitress for more hot water for tea where being charged. $1.20 pp. Left the place totally disappointed. Takpo is better n cheaper.

Good selection of dim sum, but found the dough to be a bit thicker than I like, and not a fan of the deep fried fish and fish skins. Service is excellent though.

Most of the dim sum we ordered at this restaurant in China Town was pretty good, but sadly, the service made it an overall bad experience. When we first arrived, a cart was passing our table, so we grabbed a few dim sum items as starters. Then we sat waiting for 20-30 minutes for the next cart to be brought by, to no avail. Even though carts passed our section at least a half-dozen times, our table and three others in our area kept getting ignored. I waved my arms but no one looked, so I finally got up and told a couple servers that the carts were not coming by our table. FINALLY a very annoyed server brought another cart. In the end, we got enough food, but it took a painfully long time and a lot of effort on our part. I would suggest NOT accepting a table near the windows, because that was the area that was neglected the most. Maybe you'll have better luck if you insist on a table near the cart traffic! Good luck! :)

Slightly overpriced yum cha but quality is not bad.

Had dinner here with family on a Sunday.
The place was not difficult to find, but the fact that it shares the same entrance as a hotel might throw some people off. When we arrived at 6pm the place was not crowded, but quickly fill up later on. Make a reservation if you want to secure a table.
The number of items on their Dim-Sum menu was rather limited (about 20); apparently they have more items during lunch time. They also have other dishes (vegetables, meat, fish, etc.) available.
Service was good: staff were friendly and service was prompt.
The food was nice; nothing fanciful but tasty enough. Price was reasonable too.
Definitely a place worth visiting repeatedly.

Good food, terrible service. Not sure if we have been unlucky but we've been incredibly disappointed by the service.
We asked for two items which have just never came. We had the impression that no one cared about us... When came the time to pay, we had to queue 10 more minutes!
To be fair, food was good but I wouldn't recommend this place. Worst experience in Singapore in 6 Months

Great spot , hidden away in Chinatown. Busy as always but prompt service and seating. Great for groups to get a large variety of choices.
Mark Fekete (20/11/2016 11:00)
The food is pretty good. However the service leaves much to be desired. Now the food doesn't all come at once, and if ordering lots of things to share, it would be nice to know what your getting. After we were finished with all but one of our items we sat their waiting for our last item, it turns out after waisting 15 minutes sitting there, it was 'out of stock'. Also, they don't tell you but your charged for the peanuts and hand wipes they give you at the beginning.
Michael Cheng (30/08/2016 18:36)
Nice ambience but gets pretty warm near the window in the day. Dim sum is served in traditional push carts and the food is not bad. Pricing is Ok too for this tourist trap area. My only complaint is that you have to queue up for 10 mins just to pay the bill!
Interesting fact: this place is frequented by Japanese because it's in their guide book.
Jisun An (04/08/2016 10:21)
Stop by for a quick snack. Their xia long bao was great!! Hagao was so-so ~_~ crab dumpling soup takes so long to come ...
Dominic Cai (14/07/2016 17:54)
Really good dim sum. Fried bean curd skin roll and double boiled soups are really awesome. Siew mai, prawn dumplings and prawn cheong fun too.
For best value, be there for all-you-can-eat high tea at $25/pax, every weekday between 3 and 6pm.
Parking is hard to find though. Be prepared to park at Mosque St and walk.
Fee Yang Chai (14/07/2016 13:45)
Nice Hong Kong style dim sum. Price is quite reasonable. Environment is like those old style yam cha place. They have pushing cart serving dim sum, which nowadays very seldom see.
Moey T. (07/07/2016 12:01)
I went to the place on Sunday and it opened early so could have dim-sum for breakfast. First impression is that the size of dim-sum (ha kao & shumai) is a bit bigger than other places. They taste so good that you didnt even need the sauce to go with.
