If there's a unique Singapore breakfast it has to Steamed bread with kaya or peanut and half-boiled eggs and coffee. This steamed bread is like a blast from the past when I ate it as a child. Today local coffee shops can't steam bread so they toast the bread. And toasted bread are not the same quality. Yakun even cooked the halfboiled eggs right and served with shells removed as it's quite messy to remove shell. I've seen customers in other outlets spill the whole egg. Try this typical outlet as they specially served the handicapped like me.
The boss at this outlet is so kind as he tells his staff to serve me without queuing. The staff takes my order and money and brings the food to me. He does this to senior citizens too. Frankly the best Ya Kun outlet in Singapore

Renovated about 6 months ago and still packed to capacity just about every day, this outpost of the Ya Kun empire serves up breakfast staples that can be had all day. I recommend the kaya toast, the kaya steamed bread and the runny egg!! If this is your first visit to Ya Kun then definitely take a small jar of the wondrously rich kaya back with you.

The Boss has a very impolite and rude attitude. He simply defends himself when I, a regular customer, who frequent the store everyday, sometimes even twice a day. When I approached him that the Coffee made by the new comer is not hot, he unhappily commented loudly that I damaged his store reputation and bullied his new staff. That was the same comment made from his own staff who is doing the cleaning work, when asked about his personality.
He is not fit to be in this industry and I will NOT RECOMMEND any customers to this particular store. Shame on him!

When I am asking why my meal is coming so slow but what I get from staff's blaming is why can't I be patient? Is this service attitude should be for answering customer question?

I often come here for coffee. The brew is fragrant and tastes good.

Local delights that everyone loves but tight on space. Strollers not encouraged.

I personally like the food at Ya Kun. The kaya toast is always done to perfection, warm and crispy with a ton of flavor. They used to serve toast with ice cream but unfortunately they removed that from their menu.
This outlet is way too small to meet the crowd levels at Clementi Mall. This Ya Kun is always packed, noisy and has virtually no space to get around. Yes, the food is nice but the experience isn't.
