The coffee and food here is top-notch and very enjoyable. I had soy flat white and was impressed that they used Bonsoy. The Brie and mushroom stuffed croissant was delicious but even after heating it up it was cold in the middle so that’s a pity. Would definitely ask for them to heat it up more next time. BUT they still use single-use plastic carry bags (paper bags for most things but large plastic used for several items) and to my despair, single-use butter containers! Yet they have serve your own jams... that doesn’t make sense. Plus they could move to unbleached napkins...

Has a cool relaxing atmosphere. Nice ambience.
Interesting variety of both sweet and savory to choose from. Was pretty crowded when I was there. One of the best bakeries I have been to in Singapore. Fast service and friendly staff. Will recommend to anyone looking for a place to hangout and chill with friends.

Love the vibe of the place. They serve great croissant and coffee! Recently they expanded to add additional tables at the back but it loses the old-school cafe charm if you are seated there. The food and drinks makes up for it though.
While everyone is there for the food, the coffee is equally AMAZING. The flavor is bold and unlike anything you will find in Singapore.
The star of the cafe is the baked goods! The headliner is the amazing croissants but give the rest a try! Unlike other cafes however, the selection skew towards light and sweet cafe food so don’t expect to go there for a big meal. (Unless you are a small eater of course)
Overall, it’s fantastic and we try to visit every time we drop by the area.

Love love love the vibe of this place. Friendly and helpful services with a smile. Would definitely pay them a visit if I'm in the neighbourhood. Although the prices is a bit on the higher end, the food and services provided more that make up for it. Highly recommended. They are very courteous with to the children which I really love about their service team. Keep up the great work!!!

Food quality is consistent, their croissants are really amazing. Also love the apple crumble and lemon curd tart! Think twice before heading over on Sundays if you’re hungry though, might be hard to get a seat (limited space) and queues are expected. Will return for more sinful treats!

A modern cafe set in the rustic neighbourhood of Tiong Bahru. Cakes and pastries are made in their central kitchen here and the coffee is consistently decent. Friendly service crew too!

The place is packed to the brim on weekends. Visited it on a weekday & could still see people on a constant stream. The variety of pastry is huge. Reminds me of Europe. The marble cake was nice. Has the choc sauce on top which is unique. But not cheap at $3.50 (it's the cheapest pastry I can find). Latte was on the sour side (fruity or whatever u name it), which I didn't really like. Self service water on the side. Ambience is good.

This place is crowded during tea time. The pastries and drinks are above average yet there are many places serving the similar taste and quality pastries everywhere so I don’t feel anything special. The servants don’t seems like interact much with the customers and I really don’t feel like returning for the dull atmosphere.

The food is nice but did not live up to the hype for me. Location is quite small and crowded. Staff seemed to be not particularly customer oriented. The area is nice and it is not a bad place but I think there are nicer cafes in Singapore.

Friendly staff who are proactive in providing recommendations. Love their pastries - buttery and delicious. Their pastries are pretty large and value for money.

Nice decent coffee shop located in trendy neighbourhood of Tiong Bahru. Easy to reach. Very cozy for reading / chat. Nice gourmet coffee and XL croissant ! They provide free flow of cold water, marmalade and butter for your croissant / bread. Like it and definetly will drop by when in city.

Nice little chill cafe. Almond croissant is always a must, so is the flan cakes. Coffee is neither good nor bad. Still a nice place for your afternoon tea/coffee/cake. It's rather packed on weekends though, try to strategize and come at a less crowded time.
JAMES NG (25/11/2017 02:26)
The bread variety is quite wonderful. Very flavorful. The croissant are flakey and full of buttery goodness. Most of the staff are kind and happy to help. 4 stars only because The counter staff are over worked and angry. Service from them was much better before the place became popular.

Best bakery ever! Highly recommend their ham and cheese croissant. Also, their juices are freshly squeezed in the morning and taste really good. I go there at least once a week for breakfast. 😍
Tze Yean Kong (22/10/2017 10:44)
Very good almond croissant. The baked goods in general look and taste fabulous. Coffee is average, pretentious no doubt, but average. The search for a place that does both food and coffee superbly goes on ...
Marcus Krogh (13/09/2017 04:55)
Excellent quality freshly baked goods. They open early and so a good place to enjoy breakfast alone or with friends. There are many seats, so you should be able to find a seat when during popular timings. They all pastries, bad, sandwiches, hot and cold drinks, and also provide free water. Would definitely recommend!

Hipster artisan bakery in a historic location with an open welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and above average prices. I've been there a few times, mostly because the girlfriend is a fan, but I've generally found the coffee is either lava hot or inside-your-armpit warm. Can't complain about the taste though - good croissants, rich if slightly eggy cakes, fresh well made coffee

If you happen to be in Tiong Bahru district, pay a visit to this incredible French-style bakery! The pastries and sweet goods won't disappoint you, as well as the very nice ambience. Recommended!

Nice local spot, amongst all the eateries near Tiong Bahru Market is this bakery. Very busy often with lines, thou can be seated by staff rather quickly so no need to get your own table. The cakes were great and the coffee to match. Will visit again.
Marijn de Vries Hoogerwerff (20/07/2017 07:15)
This is one of my favorite bakeries in Singapore serving lovely coffee and great croissants (maybe even the best) with free butter, jam and water. There is a whole selection of pastries to choose from but I usually stick to the basics. Do take a lovely sourdough bread home though, it's very good! There are more branches opening up but the original is still the best I think. And if your early enough, go visit the nearby food market.
Philip Madeley (03/07/2017 13:27)
Great food and coffee. Worth dropping by for Canele - but can get sold out quickly! Very crowded at the weekend, which can be a good thing!

Very pleased with the cake and bread here. They are awesome. The coffee was great too, they're come from CommonMan Coffee
Aloysius Chow (14/06/2017 15:13)
Tiong Bahru Bakery has very nice pastries which os ideal for tea time and breakfast. Great place to chill out over pastries & coffee. However the service & friendliness of staff here are not as good as their other branch situated in Tangs Orchard.
Laree Henning (14/05/2017 00:04)
One of the best if not THE BEST French bakery in Singapore. Especially love this location and Neighbourhood. All the pastries are amazing, as well as the sandwiches and coffee.
Fluffy Jing (03/05/2017 09:48)
First time here.
Went on Labour Day, staff at pastries section was quiet and with no help at all except picking up pastries. lol Randomly picked a few to try.
Berries crumble was horrible and soggy. It's exactly like a leftover crumble pie being frozen and served straight to you, thawed. We had 6pax, none of us liked it, was not even 1/4 finished after we're done.
The plain croissant, green tea croissant and especially kouign-amann were done pretty well. They've made their croissant light on butter yet flaky, maintaining crisps similar to biscuits. Kouign-amann looks like an unassuming pastry, not until the first bite. Caramelised glaze on top, breaking off the swirls as you tore through the pastry bit by bit. Very yummy.
My tastebud is quite familiar with common man coffee, TBB will need to better their skills at pulling a shot, that's not how common man coffee tasted like on long black. lol

Nice coffee, very friendly and helpful staff. All the pastries and breads look so amazing. Can't wait to try the charcoal baguette!

Small cafe with great coffee and outstanding pastries and other baked goodies. Busy place reflecting its popularity with locals and the tourists - but service remains warm and friendly.
Rick Smith (17/02/2017 23:33)
Outstanding sweet and savory baked goods. Food quality is top notch with good Common Man coffee. Service is better than many places but seems to have high turnover. Can be quite noisy and crowded when busy. Has outdoor seating which helps.
James F (17/02/2017 01:47)
Great, friendly staff and a good range of pastries. Croissants are a bit denser than I'd prefer, and the coffee has a darker roast than my favourites, but those are both a matter of personal taste. Gets very busy on the weekends after about 9:30am
Pia A (06/02/2017 00:01)
Small cafe with good coffee. The pastries are delicious. All crunchy and tasty. A must go if you're in town. Quite a walk from the nearest station but worth the walk.
Clara Jennings (25/01/2017 12:24)
The berry crumble and banana chocolate crumble were amazing! Generous portions, free water, clean, good music, friendly staff. Would definitely go back.
Matt Whittle (09/11/2016 07:20)
Unbelievably good. The pastries were as good as I have had anywhere in the world. The baguette was sublime. The coffee as good as the best Melbourne has to offer. Bring a lot of cash out your cards, you will spend big here, it is in no way a budget option.
Deborah Kay (15/09/2016 05:23)
Tiong Bahru Bakery is one of the most popular cafes and is packed on weekends. The coffee is excellent and they have the best pastries in Singapore (I love their chocolate croissants.) A great place to get breakfast before work.
Gabriel Kwek (07/09/2016 15:10)
Yes it can get crowded, but to be honest I have never had an issue getting seats with friends, and it is actually really quick and fast to have our food and drinks served. The staff here are friendly, and of course it goes without saying why there's a crowd - the selection of choices for a proper meal to share, or a simple brunch to just relax, is always available. I especially love Magic (the coffee) cause it gives me that extra boost required for the rest of the day.
This to me, is one of the quintessential entry points to the magical hipster place called Tiong Bahru! Enjoy yourselves! 😊😊
Aravind C (19/08/2016 12:11)
Expensive and not good service. Went in here to get something to eat for dinner. Had nothing vegetarian in sandwiches, baguettes or such. The guy who asked me what I want, just pointed to one burger when I asked what's vegetarian. Wasn't talking, wasn't explaining what it was, didn't make eye contact, didn't try to help. So why are the bite size portions in this bakery priced at ridiculous $8 with this kind of crappy service? Probably because there are many rich patrons who think it is chic to sit in this famous bakery and eat.
Susanne Remphrey (26/07/2016 01:04)
True full-flavoured coffee from Common Man with perfect "Hot." temperature (as opposed to the mostly served in Singapore Luke-Warm tempetature).
Freshest and flavoursome bakery items. Good staff. Need to revisit!
Greg Szarama (05/07/2016 13:43)
I went in to buy a loaf of bread, sour dough to be exact. I was greeted nicely by the staff and noticed all the happy patrons sitting and enjoying their beverages. My loaf that I wanted to purchase cost $8 so I didn't buy it as I am not wealthy.
This is a nice place with nice looking pastries if you can afford it. I didn't try anything to describe the taste.
Kenn Chua (28/05/2016 13:22)
Love this cafe. They serve unique pastries and sandwiches that's good for brunch, a meeting, or a snack! Definitely coming back!
Jerry Aaron (22/05/2016 05:44)
Not an inexpensive cafe but the ambience is comfortable and inviting. Food is almost as good as the price you pay. At least the coffee is satisfying
Alexander Wang (10/05/2016 09:02)
I love this place with polite stuff and comfy environment. There are a few tables indoor and some outdoor. With nice music and air con, this is a great place to spend a few hours wherein. The croissants are famous.
Luis Duarte (09/04/2016 18:23)
Easily one of the best bakeries in Singapore, excellent pastry with punchy flavor, buns are made with an European twist and crispy/crunchy baguettes are awesome. There're several types of coffee to everyone's taste as well as fresh juices.
Be aware that sometimes it can be noisy, especially during the lunch hours on weekends when is completely packed.
Take-away is available.
