Great location with Maxwell food center just a stone's throw away. Stayed in a premium room during my last visit. Decor has a mellow and relaxing feel, great if you like a dim atmosphere.

Great location and a nice hotel for a reasonable price. What stands out is the quality of the materials used in the room (bathroom fixtures, mattresses, linen). Pictures on the webpage well reflect what you can expect from every room type. A recommendation for Singapore.

Nice hotel close to Chinatown. Good service and cleanliness and breakfast was OK. I had a room with balcony so no problem with lack of daylight.

Great location, very helpful staff. Spent 2 nights here very comfortable, you may neeed to upgrade room for longer stays as very small, but sufficient for a short visit

I like to stay at boutique hotel and take a look at the design. However, when the hotel is almost full, be careful when choosing your room because you might choose the windowless room (makes me feel suffocated, even though there is AC).
The room and service are great, but sometimes you can see too many hallways. The best thing is that Scarlet is close to hawker food center and near the public transportation. Take a walk around the China Town when you're free.

Nice location to immerse in local culture. Nearby is a street with three different religious site/temple showing how Singapore is a multicultural and religious society. The nearby Maxwell market consist of a small but wide variety of local food. Room is spacious, with in-house resturant. But some facility can be better. The toilet door can't be fully closed. The shower head water pressure is pretty small. However the water pressure for the bathtub is pretty fast. Nice ambience for a romantic short getaway.

We had a deluxe room on the ground floor, which was clean and had a very comfortable bed. The room backed onto the shops,it had no windows , was very dark green on all walls, with very subdued lighting.we both found it very claustrophobic. Difficult to get tea and coffee replaced when we ran out. Location was excellent , if only the room had had a window and better lighting, when required. The roof top bar was lovely but extremely expensive. Breakfast was fine. Would only ever go back if we had a room with windows !!

Great location, but small rooms. Needs update and cleaning. Rooms are carpeted and no bottom fitted sheets and no top sheet; comforter only.

Rooms were small but good. Service was excellent . Provided us rooms early inspite of check in time of 2 pm. Overall happy with their services.

Very well appointed hotel with a great location close to Chinatown. The deluxe room we were give were extremely small and poorly lit. We did get an upgrade to an executive suite which was nicely sized although the balcony was looking onto a car park. Overall a nice hotel but you need to go for a bigger room. For me it's 3 stars.

Great service but I think the electrical sockets in my room require additional checks as they blew 2 of their provided for hair dryers after using them for a minute each.

This boutique hotel takes up a portion of the heritage building that's being conserved, hence you can expect the rooms to be somewhat smallish. But I think they have done a great job with the interiors, which gives a very cosy feel to it.
Location is not too bad, just walking distance to Chinatown, or towards the CBD. Tourists can enjoy a lot of local delights around the area, especially food! Maxwell hawker is right at the front, People's Park is around the corner in Chinatown.

Good location. Close to China Town and business disteict. Very classic building and unique set up. A bit dark inside.

Location is very good as it is a less than minute walk to Marina Bay Financial Center(walking is faster than MRT). Located in China town so a fast range of restaurants available near by. a 24 hour 7/11 is next to this hotel. Elegant design but small number of staff. Good if you want some better privacy.

Quirky boutique hotel in great location to explore Chinatown and beyond. Also near plenty of good bars and restaurants. Check out the rooftop bar !

Nicely decorated boutique hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean. Comfy bed. Shower with great water preasure. Great location in Chinatown. Close to restaurants and sights, but away from the noise. Only disappointment was that the whirlpool is not heated. Still a very good value.

Fancy to the point of decandence, with a roof terrace with bar, good Italian restaurant at ground floor, and a hot tub on another terrace

nice hotel. We had a room w/o windows, but it was nice, Wifi worked, we had the little handy mobile guide which is nice. Good location next to Chinatown

Great hotel, right near Chinatown. Many sights in walking distance, and much choice of restaurants nearby. The staff is fantastic, rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff were so accommodating, helped with everything.
A minus is the small rooms. If you travel lightly, this is not a problem, but if you have a bit more luggage, it can be a struggle.

Very nice China town hotel. Great service and good prices. Would stay again.

Good front desk and nicely done but small room.

Nice rooms in a walkable part of town. Reasonable price and lots to do nearby.

Fantastic stay in a beautiful, uber comfortable room with the most fantastic power shower! I stayed in an executive room with balcony - it was sometimes a bit noisy in the morning and evening but the hotel provides ear plugs etc. I recommend asking to stay in a room away from the road side if sensitive to traffic noise. I would stay again.

Right in the heart of Singapore. Room categories differ a lot, some without a real window. So you better check with reception desk to make sure you will have a nice room. Excellent breakfast unfortunately not much variation, gets a bit boring if you stay for a longer time.

Very interesting art decor, rooms have a unique and cosy feeling. Staff are very accommodating and service is excellent. The rooms might come off as a bit small due to the older style building, but I think that adds to a unique charm to this hotel.
Jason Wigg (16/10/2016 16:48)
Room is decent with comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Walls are quite thin however, so noise can be an issue.

Lovely centrally located boutique hotel. Very nicely designed. Rooms are nicely designed. Walls for some rooms a bit thin. Gym options are nothing extraordinairy, but totally sufficient

Really nothing was horrible about the Scarlet Hotel Singapore. I stayed there all last week and the hotel was generally comfortable and the staff nice. That said, I don't think there were any things that would make my rating be more than 'average'.
What was average about the stay? Checkin was average, staff was average, room size was on the small size of average, location was average (good/central but not right in the action) furnishings were average, cleanliness was maybe even slightly below average.
I wouldn't mind staying at the Scarlet Hotel again, but for the same price if I could get a hotel with more amenities and larger rooms, I'd go there.
Nicholas Carriere (27/06/2016 02:16)
Beautiful hotel, but rooms are quite small (typical of Singapore).
Andrey Lipattsev (13/02/2016 23:45)
Loved every minute at this hotel. Staff are so friendly, rooms are neat and tidy with fun little touches. Perfect place to stay in the Chinatown area. Very quiet at all times and yet just a stone throw away from the hustle and bustle of Chinatown day and night.

Love the architecture and how it stands out at the junction. Nice rooftop and trendy lobby. Like that it's near to a famous local four centre - Maxwell Food Centre and so close to Chinatown
