Good location, nice facilities. Chose a capsule bed which was cool- get your own space, your own locker etc. can do laundry and rent towels. Air condition is too cold.

Awesome place to be for backpackers
I stayed here for 7days and i never wanted to leave this place. The dorms and bathrooms were neat and clean. Breakfast was basically coffee , tea , bread , butter and jam but that was more than enough for us.
A good common area is there for us chill with the everyone over there. They also have cheap attraction tickets.
I got a bed in a 8bed mixed dorm for around 19SGD.
It is located in lavender street ., around 1km away from the metro. Almost at the heart of the city.

We booked two beds in a six bed dorm and we got two beds in a 24 bed dorm. They called it a upgrade because it was located in the new building of the hostal. However, it was not finished when we arrived (for example open cable boxes, still construction tools) and they hardly cleaned the toilets and the dorm room. Therefore, we tried to spend not that much time in the hostel. Maybe, staying in the old part of the hostel is better.

I was excited to give this place a great rating until 2 nights into my 3 night stay they randomly and somewhat rudely decided to move us to another part of the hostel without any good reason. I think it was to save electricity, considering they turned off the AC and hot water on us (not that there was really any hot water to begin in). Where we previously were, in the section separate from the front desk was actually much nicer than where they put us now.
Overall, nice location, reasonable prices and cool place. Security is weirdly awful tho, our fab opens all the lockers in our room, which means anyone can get into any of the lockers... man in the front keeps obnoxiously singing, which seems to be an attempt to divert me from my frustrations....

Facilities themselves are good. The capsule style is pretty cool.
Breakfast included, but it's just powdered coffee, white bread, and jam.
Paid for air conditioning but came in to find it turned off and the room hot several times.
One thing that might be a deal-breaker for some, though: huge security issue. All the lockers in the rooms are opened by any of the RFID bracelets that they give you. That means any of the six people in your room can open your locker whenever they want. In fact, new arrivals are likely to open it accidentally as they try to find an empty locker. Really not cool.
Halfway through our stay (of three nights only) we were told that we would need to relocate to another building because no one else was staying in our dorm. This was really inconvenient as it required us to repack everything and it was pouring out. We think that they wanted to relocate us simply to Dave on the AC.

The Little Red Dot is located within convenient walking distance of two major metro stations on two separate lines, which makes it easy to navigate the city. The staff have been absolutely wonderful in not only checking me in and managing my stay, but also in extending me twice now. While I've not experienced their standard hostel on Lavender Rd, I have stayed in their second location, which is a capsule hostel, and it has been top notch! The capsules themselves are spacious, with ample storage for luggage and the like. The communal showers have never been so packed as to cause any delay in my plans, and the breakfast of toast, jams, hot tea, and coffee has been enough to help get me on my way. Each of the other guests have commented on how much they've enjoyed staying in the capsule hostel, and how it's exceeded their expectations.

It one of the best in terms of Quality - Cost, it is close to different food court and a train station is just 2 block away.
If you want to wash your clothes it is just 12 dollar and it includes dry the clothes.
I was in a room for 8 people and it was good, however some guests who were in a room for 12 or 16 people complain... (it is difficult to make happy a lot of people at the same time...)
Rooms and bathrooms were good and clean

Comfy, with a bohemian feel to the place. Big open rooftop area that the rooms feed on to. Comfy beds. Bikes for rent (though round the corner is much cheaper - turn right out the door then right again).

I love love loved this hostel. It has the friendliest vibe ever and there are awesome common areas. The rooms are aced all day long and the bathrooms are clean. I met the coolest people here. I really don't wanna leave.

The hostel we got was different to the one pictured. There were no bunk beds, rather there were around 14 'pods' where guests had access to their own lights and wall outlets. The ladder to get up to the upper pods however are quite dangerous. This was okay, but we initially booked a room with 6 other people. To turn up and have over double that was somewhat frustrating. The showers were up some steep spiral staircases that were quite dangerous with wet feet.

A good place to stay for budget traveller. The staff Ms. Justine was very accomodating! ๐๐๐

Lots of trouble during the first night. Booked bed in 8 bed dorm was not available. Instead I got a bed in a 17 bed room for the same price. But even that bed wasn't available once I came back because it was given to somebody else in the meantime. Nobody at the reception to clarify the situation so long waiting was necessary. There is included breakfast, however there are also many ants around it. There are only two restrooms for way too many people. The price is rather cheap though and the wifi very fast so far.

HOSTEL IS BEST IF UR SINGLE OR COUPLE BUT I DON'T SUGGEST THIS FOR FAMILIES.
Alexander Van Maren (19/04/2017 04:52)
Cheap, staff was friendly, good AC. However, the location wasn't the best and some of the worst showers ever. The water refused to warm, and the drains were constantly clogged so the shower water backed up to the top of your feet.

Nice enough rooms, hot showers, good price, and a good location. Decent place to meet other travelers too. Some people stay up half the night in the common area hanging out but it won't bother you if you want to get to sleep early because the rooms are well sound proofed. Staff are also super friendly! Definitely recommend it!

Nice and small hostel with a comfortable patio area and fridge. It is close to the metro but actually far away from everything interesting.
Katgab93 (15/03/2017 06:20)
The accommodations and location were nice enough, but the staff was a little lazy and always had friends there so they would be slow to answer questions or open the door, and the lockers were hit or miss on if they would work. Just had a little bit of an unsafe vibe so I'm not sure if I would recommend it to solo travelers.

Nice place i met tons of people here. But thear are some rats in the commen area. And i had some issues with a reservation the second time i tryed to stay thear. I had to go some wear els.

They just have one controller for all aircons, so we wasn't able to turn the temprature higher in the night when we recognized the aircon is too cold. The next day it was too hot, because they went in our room, while we were still sleeping there!, and turned the aircon off without asking. Now we all are suffering with a bad cold from 3 horror nights!

Great hostel , easy to access coming from the airport with metro and a ten minutes walk ! Good price for staying and good offers for the city attraction , also well place as you are five minutes walking from little India and 15 minutes from Arab streets ! The open shared place is great for chilling when the rain is stopping you from exploring ! Also breakfast is basic (toast and jam) it is also unlimited ;)
Daniel Osborn (04/11/2016 17:28)
After paying I was informed that they were fully booked despite having a reservation through hostel world. They offered to host me in a neighbouring filthy guest house which cost half the price but we're still going to have me the full price. After refusing to give me a refund I'm now staying in the Green Kiwi. I'm going back tomorrow to try and get a refund

Place is okay. We supposed to sleep in a 8-bedrooms but received a "upgrade" to sleep in a capsule with around 20 other capsules... Was quite noisy & not what we expected! In the middle of the night they asked one of us if we can change beda with another room mate as she was freezing (AC is quite productive).
All in all ok. Everything seemed quite clean - but as the rooms are quite dark all the time we couldn't see well. :)

Beware of bedbugs. At least we got our money back.

Stayed in this place for 7 days. My sister originally booked for a good for 4 accomodation since we are 3, but when we checked in we were placed in an 18 bed dorm (which is ok but we prefer some privacy). When we asked the front desk to chance room they always give us false hope. In totality our stay was ok. The AC works well and were freezing cold, the lights are deem and so far all the other guest were mindfull and not so noisy. Someone is opening our lockers and its frustrating and we were back home I found out I lost some souvenirs but thankful its nothing valuable. On the lighter note, i like the ambiance and the warmth of the staff. I also the the place as it is near the MRT. I will still stay here next time but I have to make sure they give me the right accomodation.

There was a leak in the roof that made dripping noise all night. The price was cheap but their additional services were grossly overpriced: they asked 4$ for a towel and 12$ for laundry!
On a positive note, the AC worked well, the rooms were pretty clean and the staff was friendly.

Friendly staff, welcome Drink, good price, everything as clean as expected, near public Transport and supermarket. I recommend the hostel

Bed bugs discovered in the room at night. Horrid service, hostel offered no solutions, and staff was clueless. Had to sleep in the common area. Promptly booted out of the hostel the next morning.

Well done to @ The Little Red Dot hostel, they made my stay in Singapore! The hostel is located just 5 mins away from the Lavender MRT station making it easy to get to and from the Changi airport and downtown Singapore. Not that this is a problem because the hostel runs a free shuttle 3 times daily to the airport. The rooms are air-conditioned, and offer privacy blinds with capsule style beds. All beds had 2 lights including a reading lamp. Also they were fitted with international power outlets, so no adaptors are necessary. There's a free breakfast every morning which is good to meet up with some of the people in the upstairs courtyard. This hostel is not a party hostel and better suited to more mature folk. But most importantly staff are always friendly and helpful and on hand for any questions you have. Thanks again!

Sleep in a compartment in the wall! Heaps of privacy and great lighting. Really clean, super air conditioned and safe. Free wifi. The quietest room is the large mixed dorm.
From the moment we entered there was amazing service. Maps, advice, and information within the first five minutes made us feel super invited and super safe in a country we didn't know.
The walks of our lives free tour was great and gave us cultural exchange and taught us a bit of Singlish. The guys are so nice. We even caught a lift from David the manager twice whilst here for a week.
Thanks guys for a great stay.
