We went there twice. The ambience is nice both inside and outside as it is located in the botanic garden. The Food is quite tasty… The weekend menu is quite extensive but the weekday menu is very limited… … Me and my partner both believe that the service needs to be improved…

Dinner in the Botanic Gardens, fusion. What's not to like... (Oh yes, they don't serve alcohol; the place is halal certified.) Really enjoyed my order of Chili Crab Spaghetti. The ambience is excellent, though it gets slightly noisy indoors given the smallish space.

Had an amazing dinner experience at The Halia. Celebrated my mother's birthday and she had a splendid time. Staff was pleasant and attentive. The food was amazing. The paperbag halibut was amazing. I had the steak of the day and it was so flavorful. The grilled artichokes were my favourite starters.

Halal Fine Dining Restaurant just beside orchid garden of Botanic garden.
Unique food experiences with choice of appetizer, main course, dessert with halia spice. The taste is still good you almost can't find the ginger taste.
Pricey because of their fine dining maybe.
Better reserved on peak day like weekend.

The service is the best I experienced in Singapore. The food is not cheap, but for a special occasion, this restaurant is highly recommended. The Thai salad is really great

Excellent place to bring your date.
Celebrated my birhtday here with my fiancee, great ambiance. Weve tried the chili crab pasta and the wagyu ribs. The food is a bit pricey but its both delicious so its worth it.
As we enter the restaurant their staff gives us a warm welcome and is polite and attentive in our needs and request.
You will also love the place if your a nature lover since its inside the botanic garden so its good to walk around to relax your full stomach.

Amazing ambience. We had a late dinner at the outdoor seating area and the atmosphere was just phenomenal. The service by the staff was commendable. They were attentive and friendly, even taking the initiative to help us arrange food on our table for a nicer photo.
The food was beautifully plated, with a mix of flavours we were not quite used to. They used fresh herbs and ingredients. Unfortunately, we weren't huge fans of Asian-Western fusion cuisine, so the flavour was way too mild for us. I felt that the chicken, especially, was lacking in salt or pepper. Our favourites were the oysters and the sticky date pudding.
Overall, considering the price, the portions and the taste of the food, I doubt I'd return.

Love everything here! The atmosphere is fantastic! Green and cool breeze during breakfast time. Food selection is very herb based and interesting. I ordered the ginger tea which I need to grind it myself, a nice touch. And avocado toast which is super delicious, they had this jam made of herb bits. So refreshing way to eat avocado toast.

We did not try the big mains and meat dishes but starters and side dishes are just disappointing. It's actually already prepared you can buy in the supermarket. Tomato soup is clearly canned one, mashed potatoes is actually potatoes flakes mixed with milk &water, not even home made... I give 2 stars because the surrounding is very nice and maybe the main are nicer. You have much better venues proposing homemade similar food in the same range of price in Singapore.

Was cloudy and hence the ambience was just perfect to sit outside.

Nice place, very near to the main entrance of the Garden. nice view. Though it took a while for food to be served, the quality of the food is worth the waiting. Recommend for people who are not in a rush and have the luxury to take a long afternoon rest.

A bit hard to find if you are not familar with the botanical gardens. But good food and service. Will be back, definitely !

Had Brunch and sat outside to soak in the outdoor garden/ foresty feels. Prices are on the high side but totally worth it, with the excellent service (compliments to Raja!) to top it off :) And it is Halal-certified!

The Halia (name after a type of ginger?)
Located inside Botanic Garden, Ginger Garden also beside Orchard Garden. We are too early the resturant is not open yet. Will try out one of this day. Ambience look good.

Great atmosphere at this restaurant. Dine outside for sure! Cuisine is excellent, even though I'm not as found of the latest menu.

Have eaten here once before and the food was great. Service a little slow. Tried going for lunch today with my 3 kids. The kids menu is limited to say the least to only hot meals with fresh fruity only offered on weekend!!!
And then we had to wait for 25 min for someone to actually come take any sort of order and only after having flagged someone down!
Landed up walking out!

Great ambience. Must try the chilli crab pasta. Risotto was too creamy for our liking. Was my friend's birthday and they sang a song when they brought out the Pain Perdu (must try)

Great Halal upmarket casual dining option situated in the lush Botanic Gardens. Great to see the Halia go Halal, which must have been a difficult decision. Great food, service and ambience. We had the lemongrass ginger prawn salad, paperbag oven baked halibut and the chilli crab spaghetti. The salad and the fish were excellent. Chilli crab spaghetti, we thought could be a little spicier and sweeter. Perhaps it is catered for a milder European palate. Regardless, will certainly be coming back for more and will be bringing along family and friends.

We had a delicious Iftar meal at The Halia and they are certified Halal as 1st June 2017.
Had the communal meal for 6 pax. They have alfresco and air-conditioned dining. Very relaxing and enjoyable dinner with friendly and helpful staff. Make reservations if you coming here.

Nice quiet place with Ginger infused food. I like their bread basket which they only serve on weekends. Photo is of the crab paste infused with ginger, comes with crackers. Very tapas like dish.

Love the atmosphere, food was decent. I found their famous chilli crab spaghettini to be a little too spicy for my liking tho.

Enjoy my outdoor dining surrounded by greenery and great service. It's a shame they are applying for a halal license so the menu has been changed and no more alcohol in this premise but separately. Guess they can't have it all and it's a shame because we will give it a miss for brunch or dinner

Very beautiful pace. variety of plants with details, beautiful walkways. excellent place for morning walk and evening walk. suitable to have children with. very cool and calm.

It used to be great but now they're applying for a Halal licence. So sad that we lost our favourite brunch place. No more Bloody Mary with a jungle view. :-(

Had brunch here. Pasta risotto was really good. Very nice ambience. Service was good too but the waiter kept talking non stop, was a bit annoying after a while...

Good food and beautiful atmosphere. Best enjoyed on a cool day in the outdoor seating area. Service is first rate. A bit pricey but I suppose it's worth the atmosphere and food quality.

Great atmosphere and music if you catch the live jazz on Sundays, the food is great but a bit pricey
Jui Hong Teoh (06/11/2016 09:23)
Halia restaurant is one of the signature restaurants at Singapore's UNESCO World Heritage Site awarded Botanic Gardens. We had lunch on the outside verandah (in door is available), overlooking the gardens.
The food is a fusion of Asian and Western influences with creative mix of Asian food styles like chilly crab into modern dishes like spaghetti. This might tricky with some people as the restaurant can sometimes be overtly creative. If you are the adventurous type, this would be an interesting attraction.
The restaurant itself is housed in a hut reminiscent of an Asian long house, with very casual atmosphere betraying the more up-class nature of the restaurant. Of course the draw itself is being able to enjoy a good meal overlooking the Botanic Gardens.

Awesome dinner on Sunday. Foods are great and accompany by Sunday only jazz band. A lovely evening

Excellent food and ambience. Located right at the Ginger Garden, their speciality Halia Chilli Crab Spaghetti is a must try. A great place to come with families especially after a good walk around Botanic Gardens. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.
Paul Harwood (26/08/2016 10:23)
One of my favorite places to eat in Singapore. The location - actually in the gardens - cannot be beaten and the food is always good and always adventurous (and of course - ginger themed). The service can be a little funky on occasions but they always get there in the end.
Yeow Jianhao (08/08/2016 01:25)
Located right next to Orchid garden, it's near the amphitheatre side of Botanic Gardens. Restaurant may be a little small, so do reserve if you're dropping by, or be early. Food is pretty good quality - tried the poached eggs and the halia big breakfast - but I did not like the latte as much. Service is pretty good too.
That said, it's still not the best brunch place that I've visited thus far.

the food is nice! good walk before and after food! the outdoor seating is somewhat cooling in the night! you dont feel like you are in the middle of the city at all!

The location is very good given the lush foliage of the Botanic Gardens. However, getting there is not necessary straightforward, particularly for tourists. The official address is 1 Cluny Rd, but if your taxi drops you off there, you will be on the wrong side of the gardens. You need to enter via a poorly signed road/carpark off Tyersall Avenue. The food is ok only for the price. I had a family gathering there for dinner and 6 out of 7 meals had to be sent back as the meat was not cooked properly. I really expect the chefs at high end restaurants (or indeed any restaurant selling steaks and roasts etc) to know how to cook to medium, medium rare etc and follow international standards for the colour of the meat for the various levels. As for pork, it should not be pink at all in my opinion, despite the waiter trying to tell me that it was alright to eat pink pork, which to me looks underdone and therefore a risk for various bacteria. Otherwise, the staff were very helpful and friendly.

A lottle bit pricy, but taste is better than expected and the staff are pleasant. I would especially recommend Wakyu burger.
Richard Knights (06/03/2016 13:25)
Great atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. The food tasted great and the service was exceptionally quick. The main meals can get quite pricey, but the selection of brunches are reasonable enough to make it worthwhile for people on a budget.
Michael Sutherland (14/02/2016 23:06)
I really was not expecting the food to be as good as it was here.... But I'm glad it was, it really was fantastic. We went on a Sunday morning/lunch and there seemed to be some sort of brunch menu on offer, but regardless I was very happy with my beef burger and my girlfriend was equally happy with her salad. Quality and taste was excellent, service was also very good, and the surroundings were lovely. It's not cheap (for western prices) but it is very good value for the quality of food you get.
