Have been coming here for a long long time. Love the relaxed cozy atmosphere where you are encouraged to grab a book or magazine off the shelf and laze on the many sofas sipping a nice Flat White and enjoying their amazing key lime pie. There are even a selection of kiddie stuff for your kids. My all time favourite is their Egg Blackstone which is absolutely amazing.

The place has a nice and quite feel to it with low and calm music. The prices are no surprise for the location. S$17,5 for a fantastic chicken curry. The water comes with a taste of fresh oranges. After the meal I browsed through their collection of books and magazines and made myself comfy on a couch.

Your perfect neighborhood cafe. They dogood coffee and the food is great too. Nice place to have a relaxed weekend brunch. Also they allow dogs in their outdoor area

It's a cozy place to have a drink and read some books. The good thing is you don't have to bring a book!! As the name suggests, you can find books in this cafe which you can enjoy reading while having your drink.

Have always wanted to visit the place and will visit again! Excellent food and latte! Many of the magazines are of latest issues too. Nice place to hang out!

I ordered a lychee drink.

Shortly after, I was told by a staff that since my partner and I are occupying 2 seats, we should at least order 2 items instead of one.

My thoughts...What makes them assume that I'm not going to order additional food/beverage? Why do they need to initiate this sentence? This is clearly very unprofessional.

Apparently, their management passed on this unwritten rule to their staffs as a practice.

Definitely an unpleasant experience here especially when it's my first visit to this venue.

Very disappointing.

Enjoyed breakfast and lunch here. Coffee and toast was a nice light breakfast. The kimchi fried rice was very good.

Would definitely come back again.

The olive rice and chicken avocado sandwich are both great. Good place work but can get pretty crowded.

A rare find. This is one place I wouldn't mind coming alone. I am usually here for their breakfasts special. You can read from their library while eating. Nice food. Good ambient.

Really great find. We arrived late for the set breakfast but they were very accommodating and let us have what we wanted. Very nice coffee and staff really helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent WIFI and great spot to work/study. What I find annoying is some customers sitting for hours sipping through just one coffee.. I would suggest to the owner placing a minimum spent per hour.. it’s quite irritating seeing someone who doesn’t consume occupying a nice spot during crowded hours...

Great quiet cafe in Singapore. Extensive menu of food and drinks. Indoor and outdoor dining. Friendly staff. I like the place — it’s authentic and they aren’t trying to be “hipster” or a super-slick brand factory. Just good food, quiet atmosphere. If that’s what you’re looking for in Singapore, this is one of the few places where you’ll find it.

The staff was very young and polite, albeit somewhat slow because it was a relatively packed Sunday afternoon. I had the grilled chicken sandwich - soft and moist bun (quite good), chicken was tender and well-seasoned, and I really liked the big-cut fries that came with the sandwich.

The crowd was very young - most half my age - but not too loud and quite enough for a read.

Haven’t tried the all-day breakfast menu but will come back.

No regrets!

Really enjoyed this cafe, got a lot of work done. Liked the couch spaces and they provide yummy food and power plugs. The couches are comfy but not sure how clean they are haha

Prompt and attentive waitresses and waiters and a fantastic menu--the ravioli is incredible and I should stop ordering it... but I can't. Perfect place to do work, with seats outside dedicated to single person sitting with plug sockets, the only good outside place I've found like that. Well worth working at.

Amanda Rizka (12/08/2017 08:01)
Cozy place for studying or catching up with friends, good food with reasonable price and great service! Will definitely come back for more :)

Jeslyn Lim (08/08/2017 03:39)
Perfecto place to get work done! Ample seats (indoors and outdoors) and sockets for charging devices. It is very conducive though it gets slightly busy at lunch hours. The menu is extensive, caters to vegetarians but limited choices for vegans. Servers are superb! Bathrooms are clean and there is even a baby changing area.

Aaron H (24/06/2017 17:11)
Very prompt service provided by the waiters and waitresses. Pancakes and the steakhouse fries are really good. They are quite affordable too. Would also also recommend the iced cappuccino as well as the iced caramel cafe. Also an awesome place to study, relax and catch up with friends.

Xinger K (16/06/2017 13:11)
Great service staff and cafe opens till late! Good for studying since there's free wifi. Also, comfy couches next to bookshelves with an eclectic choice of books and mags for browsing.

Tommy Lim (05/06/2017 07:23)
Easily one of the better cafes to spend a chillax day reading and surfing the net (free WiFi provided). The coffee is quite good, and the breakfast is excellent.

Alan Fitzgerald (06/05/2017 01:08)
Have been coming here on and off for three years and have always found the staff friendly and food quality is good but the service waiting times can be very slow, even when the place is not all that busy.

Siew Hing Lam (07/04/2017 15:46)
Coffee and food is nice. Good place to hang out till late night. Price is a bit expensive though but still worth it.

Al L (31/03/2017 07:19)
Delicious breakfast. This is a great place to come and have a bite and work on your computer or read a book. Plenty of books to read there, indoor couches and tables, outdoor tables, charging outlets too! French toast is an A+!!

Shawn Tay (20/02/2017 14:24)
One of the most relaxing cafe! The staff were prompt and responsive! Everyone working were helpful and smiling.

The food was amazing! Well priced and portion was good. Definitely a good cafe to relax and spend your time here.

A wonderful place to spend your time. Amazing service. The staffs were friendly and the service was so quick. It's not usually crowded but even when it's crowded the service is good and fast. I love to study for my finals at The Book Cafe

Cabonara, grand caesar, egg benedi.ct, blah bleh bloh...
Basically everything here is delicious, it's safe to try anything and everything. The listed-in-menu desserts are also over the top.
Tranquil place to date or study. Free wifi. Some tables have power plugs, but you can't change seats once seated on weekends so wait patiently if you want to charge your phone and laptop.

Melvin Chan (22/12/2016 06:19)
Friendly and polite staff. It's a great place to work out of office. Food is quite decent too.

Swetha Gopalakrishnan (06/12/2016 05:08)
My go to place to do work/relax. Ample charging points, WiFi, good drinks and desserts. Won't say food is fantastic for the price paid but it's pretty decent.

Pk (17/09/2016 08:25)
Good place to work or chill out. Free wifi and power points... Lots of magazines and books as well. Food is good

Elisabeth Lee (08/09/2016 10:33)
Free wifi lots of plug socket.

Lots of people also working with laptop
Good menu option. Grassfed beef. Everything I ordered tasted good.

Aircon and outdoor option also table or sofa option

Attentive service (may be even a little too much) but super impressed in prompt water fill ups.

Clean bathroom

Downside is I wish it was close to metro... Can be crowded...

Coffee is so so but the ambience is quite good and cosy. One thing I'm not a particular fan is that you have to check in FB when using their wifi. It's annoying and a bit awkward when the wifi is not stable and your friends see the check-in status a couple of times in one or two hour.

Nik K. (31/07/2016 09:38)
Came here a few times. Always happy with the service and atmosphere. It is less busy than other cafes on the street.

Please don't expect much from food or wine served, it is a coffee place not a restaurant. But if you search for a coffee only and a quiet place where you can read a book, study or work. This is the place to go.

Manu Kashyap (24/07/2016 03:50)
Nice atmosphere. Everyone except me on laptops. Everyone seemed to be working on the weekend- felt guilty that I was just having breakfast. Books and newspapers to read. Great place to go for breakfast.

Had the weekend special Emmenthal Cheese and Lean Bacon Omelette. Nothing great but not bad either. Could have done with more than the one small slice of avocado.

The muesli with the fruits is excellent.

Visited repeatedly since May 2016

woo hoo. anyone who gives it a bad rating has gotta be dumb
the staff are so nice and the food is good. i recommend the fillet mignon. awesome beef

Samantha Stark (29/06/2016 02:52)
I know it sounds predictable to just walk in and find best sellers displayed in the shelves of this cafe. Now that is quite true but what made me flabbergasted is stumbling into popular authors such as dan brown's creations available in other translations. I bet there's more to that. They have a very cozy music played in the background. Power outlets are well distributed around the cafe and they offer printing services at a very affordable cost. I would encourage people who are going for a short / long casual meeting to have it here. You could also study / do your revisions in the cafe. They have a high speed internet connection. The meals they offer are utterly delicious and they are very generous with condiments 😉. They easily pick up a crowd on weekends so it would be best to place reservations if you plan to go on a sunday most especially. If you are a smoker worry no more as they do have a smoking table / outdoor seating.

Jason Lim (11/06/2016 15:22)
Good for relaxing on the sofas and reading the books or magazines available, food and coffee are meh. Noticed most people with laptops, on a positive note there are sufficient power points.

Eddie Sit (05/04/2016 05:07)
Don't mind the service. Food can benefit from some improvement in my opinion - seafood pasta has prawns and one scallop, perhaps add a few clams and squid, take out a prawn add a few dollars to make it justify "seafood pasta". Pasta was on the edge of "not cooked enough" also. Quality of seafood was acceptable but nothing to rave about.

Would come again and try all day breakfast though, I really quite like the vibe.

Neeraj Pattani (28/02/2016 12:41)
Nice cafe with good ambiance. Very conducive for laptops as almost every spot has a PowerPoint by the desk. There's free wifi too and the staff is friendly. Would definitely recommend this place.
