Place is a little inaccessible seeing as it's a short walk away from the nearest bus-stops but it's still not too bad. Spruce Firestation, as its name suggests is housed in the old and historic Bukit Timah Road Firestation building. The place serves delicious food albeit at a slightly expensive price but it's so worth it. The ambience of the place is also very good, making it a great place for dinner dates etc..

Great location and nice concept, but lack of a true cozy athmosphere indoors (cheap interior and big open space with bad lighting and acoustic (noisy)). Outdoors is quite nice. The food is below average: Oily, unhealthy bar food and no healthier options. Was eyeing the lobster linguine as the rest of the menu sounded very heavy but they didn't have the item. I ended up getting their 'signature' burger (that was recommended by staff) which was uneatable. The beef patty tasted bitter and stale and you could neither cut the burger nor take it in your hand without creating a big mess. Even the fries were a let down: Dry and flavorless. I returned most of the food. My friend had the same problem with her blue cheese burger. She returned almost the entire thing. Maybe we were just unlucky that night, but it's a bit of a shame as I felt happy to discover this place but left disappointed

Nice atmosphere. Ample space for kids to run around. Can't say the same for the food. It's reasonably priced and it tastes ok, but usual standards- eggs Benny, burgers, wings... Felt uninspired. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

Nice revamp and now free parking. But drinks and food are not exactly value for money

Food ordered tasted good. Restaurant cleanliness and service are fair. The only downside is that I waited 30mins for their staff briefing to end at one corner before they are ready to turn their attention to me. Didn't even offer to take advance order for my drink first before they continue their briefing at the corner. Causal vibes and live singing.

The taste of every dishes served is perfect. Size of each dish is just nice. Service is very efficient. Pricing is reasonable too. Ambience is relaxing, with a large screen playing EPL games as an incentive for soccer crazy guys.

Live music, good food and a relaxed and nice atmosphere. Overall 5 stars~
The baby back ribs was very tender, sauce is unique, hints of salted egg but perhaps not as flavourful as Tony Roma's. 8.5/10
Prawn pasta was generally good! Sauce is good, with simple, nice ingredients. 8/10
Snapper is fresh with a strong seafood scent. With added mussels, good for seafood lovers! 8/10
The service is amazing+! The manager was kind, responsive and explained in great detail. The waitresses were also very attentive~ 10/10
The atmosphere is also very chill and suitable for dates and special events. Retro yet modern 10/10

Once a firestation, now home to Spruce - a bar/restaurant/bakery with live band Tuesday to Friday. We had an early dinner so didn't get to hear the band. Food was good though a little pricey. Spruce offers a good selection of food and drinks. Nice, rustic ambience. Free parking is a definite plus.

Great food and nice ambience. Just a little on the pricey side

Vety nice ambience with very friendly staff. And most importantly, nice food at reasonable prices.

Love this place. Good selection of food and drinks. There is also a live band (pretty good). Parking is very convenient as there's a huge car park.
The fittings and furniture have a minimalist modern touch.
Prices on the high side.

Nice place for brunch. Buns are often homemade. Not crowded and kids love to play outside.

Nostalgic place, was attached to this firestation when i was volunteering during junior college. But now you get to dine in the building where the fire engines and ambulances once parked. Price is a little steep but the food and service is good. And if you're here on the nights with live band, i think it's quite worth it.

staff are polite and fast with their services. food is decent with the wagyu burger a great fantastic choice!

Nice ambience for breakfast. Food is ok but a little high on price (probably due to location - no eateries nearby with walk up parking in front)

Food was decent, a bit on the pricier side. Decor was really lovely, but it was a bit noisy on the inside, probably because of the huge rowdy party that was being held a few tables down. Perhaps they should have some private area specifically for parties as it was quite disruptive to the normal diners. Combined with the live music it was unbearably loud and my table were practically shouting at each other to be heard. Outside was a calmer atmosphere but was quite humid that day so would have been really warm.

Nice place and a unique building. However the lemon was too sweet and the food was average.
Nice staff.

Sufficient crowd. Not super packed, but not deserted either. Food was okay, portion was generous, drinks aren't extremely sweet, but still kinda nice. Visited after bukit timah hike, thankful for a spacious seating place.

Nice restaurant serving Western. Some days are live band nights so do check before going. Seats available outside also. Great for kids too.

Good food/brunch options and very convenient with kids! They also have a good selection of cakes and desserts and a kids menu with set lunch that is very convenient. The breakfast options for adults are great too!!

Service was great and friendly. We came in the morning and asked if they had truffle fries. It was not on the brunch menu, but the staff went ahead to check if that could be arranged.
The truffle fries were good! Unlike usual truffle fries that are just fries sprinkled with truffle oil, this dish consisted of a thick truffle sauce that gave the dish greater depth and taste.
The beef brisket burger was great, although personally I did not like the sauce that it came with. My friend loved it though.
Being able to add foie gras was a plus. It's not the best foie gras I've had, but it was good nonetheless. And at the price of $12, I think it was worth it.
The salad had just the right amount of dressing, which was a good change to restaurants that frequently drown their salads in sauce.
The only downside was me being unable to finish everything as the serving portions were large.
I would definitely go back to Spruce Firestation again, and perhaps try their dinner menu.

It is a fire station turned restaurant. The place ( The building) has been around for a long time. The restaurant has an air con indoor sitting and out door sitting. The restaurant is not big though so when crowded during week ends may be difficult to find a table. The ambience is good & the surrounding envroment is nostalgic. The taste of food differs as individual taste differs also.So I can only say some foods are good some may not be.In this sense I took one star off, could only give it four stars.

Interesting location with average food. Good ambience for couples and small families. Can get crowded over weekends.

After hearing about this place for a long long time, the family decided to visit it on the far side of Singapore
Attentive service and great food :-)
Sally Ang (22/02/2017 06:57)
Tastes were great, however the quality was not there.. The risotto tasted like a normal rice, while the buffalo chickens have its spiciness but not tender enough.. Nevertheless, both tasted good coupled with nice ambience..

Absolutely amazing service, fantastic meal and very reasonable prices. Key point for #celiac visitors is that they are very aware of #glutenfree diets and will ensure you get a delicious and safe meal. A definite must see for visitors to Singapore and what is sure to become a regular restaurant for us.

great food overall, love the service; one of the waiter saw that I poured the wrong sugar solution into my lemon tea, he quickly exchanged it with another one at no additional costs. When I ordered dessert, one of the managers noticed how my kids were fighting for the ice cream, he gave another scoop for free. This place has amazing people which makes the dining experience awesome. BTW, for dessert make sure to order the ginger date pudding! It's worth every single calorie.

Great atmosphere and good food with nice selection of alcohol for a nice evening with friends. Main courses were a little pricey.

Nice atmosphere. Good place to have a beer with friends. The food is ok. Nothing great, nothing bad. Somehow they always seem a bit understaffed here though.

I like the baby back ribs and the spruce specialty salad. Wines are also good value at $10 for 125 mls.

Ordered the big breakfast. Nothing to shout about. Eggs were small.
Don't think they were using the x-Large eggs. 60grams and above.
Bacon was chewy. The three Sausages were a total disappointment.
The environment is very Chillaxing... High ceiling... feels very roomy.
