It's very well organized, animals seem to have enough space to go around. The staff is helpful and kind. We were bringing our 11 months infant to live see the animals we have showed him in books, so we were very excited about it.
We had breakfast with the orangutans ($35 per adult), and while I had different idea in mind (treetop sitting area, enclosed but near the animals) it was a good experience. There was a very cute baby orangutan within the family, which reminded me the animals have been trained to sit there and eat while people took photos in front of them. The presentation was informative and is clear that their focus is teaching the need to protect the animals and their environment.
After some walking we got to the Elephant ant play and work area, with plenty of time to sit at a nice spot (it really gets crowded). Everything was fine until the animator starts and decides to scream! Our baby panicked in a way we hadn't seen before and broke in years. The guy kept making extremely loud noises (even though the audio system works week and there are speakers everywhere), so unfortunately we had to leave.
We continued the walk around, but given the previous experience, avoided the shows. The white Rino' at the beginning seemed to be fake (plastic) as they stood still for some seconds until they ears move :).
The chimpanzees play area is very nice, and you can see how playful and strong they are.
Overall a good experience, but don't think the shows have small kids in mind.

Singapore Zoo is really a great place to visit. Lots of animals and very organized and clean. Timings are around 8:30-6pm.
The zoo area to cover can take even 6hrs if you are an animal lover. Lots to walk so carry a cap, Sunscreen and water. There are many shows which have certain timings do check them in advance and be there half an hr before to get decent seating. (bird, elephant show many others)
The night safari is worth the wait. Can see animals well and with good distance, there is a mini train which you take and that stops at many places in the zoo and then you can visit the animals in that area.

This is a great zoo. I saw animals I did not know existed. We had the good fortune to see a show about the rain forest fitting back.
The birds that had been trained were simply amazing. They have a white tiger and he has blue eyes.
I was really impressed by the zoo design. The animals although captive seemed to have comfortable surroundings

Good size zoo with plenty to see amazing when the Apes climb right across the roads above you on rope swings. the polar bear enclosure was very interesting as well as the other exhibits. Good sized restaurant with plenty of variety a mix of both European and Asian foods. one thing not to miss is the night safari.

Haven't been to a Zoo in a long time, but I'd heard many good things about Singapore zoo and it lived up to what I'd heard and read. Lots to see and do and good for all sorts. Families, couples and individuals. There is so much to see it's almost worth taking the whole day. Easy to get tjere by taxi if you don't mind paying or you can catch a train then bus which takes a little longer. Places to eat there are also reasonably priced. Yes some of the animals were sleeping but it's a Zoo and the animals are there for a reason and shouldn't be expected to put on a show for each and every individual. Great place and I would go back again for sure.

Very nice zoo, can tram if you want to around the park. But to be honest if you don't mind the weather I would walk. You see so much more and can take your time. Some of the viewing rooms are air-conditioned some just have fans. There is also plenty of room to get a look in. While walking around always look up the orangutans roam free and sometimes need to go, if you know what I mean. :)

Singapore Zoo offers visitors an enchanting experience with the wild life we don’t normally see in our region.
From lions to polar bears, elephants to reptiles, Singapore Zoo has a wide variety of animals which makes this a great place for family outing.
There is also a train ride which goes on a specific route to take visitors to a predestined spot so don’t worry about the walking distance!
However, sometimes I personally feel that by walking along the pathway provided and stopping whenever you feel like to look at the animals or just to enjoy the nature, is in itself, another kind of enjoyment.
All information regarding the animals shows, food and refreshments areas is available in their compact yet informative leaflet.
Be sure to bring along a couple of bottled water and insect repellent along to ensure a smooth and hydrated trip at the Singapore Zoo.

Our favorite spot in Singapore! Clean, fun, do not miss the chance to hand feed giraffes, rhinos, and elephants. Huge area but lots of shade. Note there is a water bottle refill station near the entrance. The cafeteria is expensive, bring a sandwich. You will want to stay all day. Get the itinerary for feedings and shows. Don't miss out. Enjoy, go fast and go home tired but inspired.

Though I not sure if I am a person who are supporting zoo. But what I can tell that Singapore Zoo did a very great job maintaining the Zoo environment and all the animals is being very well taken care of. The landscape of its surrounding I can say could be one of the best if it is not the best in the world. Bringing your family there is worth every dollar.

A nice zoo with good entertainment concepts. It can be really crowded at times but probably with the future expansion it will be much better. It is my second visit in the last 3 years and not much have change. Looking some of the animals in real life can be a huge exhilarating experience. The Lions, white tigers, elephants, ostrich, giraffe, giant turtles are magnificent animals to see and admire. Area is huge and can be quite exhausting if one is not used to walking around a lot. For those people they have paid tour busses that go around the area if you feel like relaxing a bit. There are at least one proper restaurant and a couple snack stands. Place is nice, well maintained and clean.

Singapore Zoo is exciting and a very fun place. Kids love the outdoors, animals, rides and specially pony rides. One of the best kept and cleanest zoo in the world. A must visit place. Stroller rental is available for kids that makes life hell lot easier. We loved the dinosaur theme park was so realistic. Very clean and tidy, toilets and rest rooms, kids changing rooms are all well kept and maintained

The best natural surrounding for animals. If you are an animal lover, you'll simply love this place. Don't miss the shows which keep on going during the day. Also, you can easily spend 1 day in the zoo, 1 evening for night Safari and another half a day in river Safari. That's my recommendation. You can shorten it if you don't really want to cover everything
Scott Lee (29/11/2017 13:02)
It's just capitalism at work. The Original zoo has been divided up into two with the addition of the river Safari. You pay twice for the same experience.
Sadly, the Zoo is not the same as it used to be. The animals are all sleeping or hiding. Polar bear is out in the 33 degree heat, green in color from algae growing in the fur.
The majority of my day was just explaining to my kids how the animals are sleeping... Disappointed.

Been to many zoos thru out the world but this has to be one of the best. The gardens are magnificent as well as the animal enclosures. It is great to see so many different species of animals without the need for cages. The tram is beneficial for getting around as well as seating in strategic positions. Food choices are great with something for everyone.
Federico P. (26/11/2017 22:13)
One of the best zoos I ever seen. They take care of the animals at the best.
The ambiance is very good and very peaceful. Even if there are a lot of visitors you can't feel the crowd because the park is really big. It's very easy to take photos. The shows are very nice and funny. This place is good for everyone: young and old people, families, couples and solo travellers.

Great experience! Lovely shows and you cannot miss Splash of water.
The care taken to keep them safe and healthy is incredible.
Just sad can't go close to some animals and where it's allowed u need to pay extra which is not good.
Tarun srivastava (09/11/2017 11:44)
This is must visit place if you are with kids. The animals are kept in the very friendly and natural environment close to there real habitat. The zoo officials and workers take good care of the animals. The elephants show is a must. Orangutans were roaming around over the trees right above the trail. The giraffe feeding was very nice. Comodo dragon were roaming around freely on the road. If you feel tired of walking, you can take a team ride. Overall, we all had a great time.
Chan Hsien Hung (09/09/2017 03:45)
The Singapore Zoo is always improving itself to attract visitors. Worth to visit. You will need a day to this. Wear light as you are expected to walk a fair bit. Don't worry about water as there are water dispensers around, just bring a bottle along. Some light snacks will be good as you can have them during the animal shows. There is also a water park for children to have fun, especially great a hot and humid day.

We had read that the zoo is one of the best in the world. It lived up to the reputation. Free range orangutans. Aviary with more than just birds. Getting up close with ring tailed lemurs. Great educational information at each exhibit reminding us, without being preachy, of the role we as consumers play in the vulnerability of many of these beautiful animals.
Paul Blakesley (12/08/2017 03:43)
Excellent zoo, well laid out. Never felt crowded. Food well priced and plentiful (local and western). We paid extra for breakfast with the orangutans which was well worth it for our boys (12 And 9). Give yourself a full day, get there early and plan on leaving around 6pm.
There are night safaris etc avail, but we had other plans.
Joji Jose (09/08/2017 04:44)
Awesome place to spend a whole day here. The zoo, Night Safari and River Safari. Night Safari is the best. You can enjoy the world of Nocturnal Animals. Make sure you do a walk inside the zoo even if you do a tram ride first as the trams wont take you to every nook and corners of the zoo. Go for the 7 pm show for Night safari.Make sure to opt for express pas if you are visiting on a busy weekend. Best to visit on a Friday as it have some special shows that day.But if you want little more calm or peace environment go for some other week day. Zoo is also awesome there are more animals in the zoo than in Night Safari.

An amazing zoo!! Went here specifically to see the Orangutans and it exceeded expectations. Open air enclosures made you feel very close to the animals and you get a chance to have your photo with them at feeding time. The baby was adorable. The setting/landscaping were beautiful and plenty of other interesting animals that all look well looked after. Easily a 5 star zoo
Evelyn Johnston (08/07/2017 21:16)
Fantastic zoo..! We had breakfast with the orangutans which was a marvellous opportunity to get near such incredible creatures. Also don't miss feeding the elephants - an up close experience indeed- and try and see the lion feeding too. Wonderful day put.

Entrance full of local food choices, prices are affordable. Zoo environment maintain a very high standard of cleanliness, I'm very impressed. Now it's really a good time to purchase 4 parks tickets with their $69 promotion, good deal. Toilets are very clean n even equipped with shower facilities, it's very important for family with young children. Thank you singapore zoo!!
Mike Du Bose (01/07/2017 01:06)
While I haven't been to a lot of zoos I have been to a few and this is probably the best of them all. Well laid out so it would be difficult to miss anything and if there is something you are looking for there are signs posted throughout the zoo. There is plenty of shade and places to sit and there are no big hills to climb, all of these things are welcome in this climate.
The grounds were extremely clean and all of the animals looked well taken care of.
There is even some decent places to eat here, I ate at a place called Ah Meng. It's a cafeteria style setup and the food was reasonably priced considering what you normally pay in places like this.

Came here with my family on Mother's Day! Very excited about this trip. It has been ages since we came to the zoo together! :) It was very well-maintained and refurbished! Good weather on that day too! Definitely will recommend all to visit! No regrets!

Excellent collection of wild animal including penguins and kangaroo. Designed in such a way that you will not miss any animal. Same place they take us night Safari but visibility of animal is not that great but gives a different experience.I wish to go only day time zoo.
Anton Roy (29/04/2017 08:19)
Great place to visit with your kids. Wide range of animals. You need a whole day here. Lost of walking, so go prepared, specially if you are with kids and older visitors. There are fun things for kids inside the park like a mini water park, and some other activities. We had a great time.
Holger Stitz (28/04/2017 08:35)
Great zoo experience! Some compounds provide a close experience, so that you can almost touch the animals. The elephant show was superb. Other animal feedings through out the entire park are offered at different times per day. The signs and explanations for the animals are informative and nicely designed. All of them are available in English.
The zoo offers a tram ride with audio guide for a fee of 5 S$.
Washrooms were nicely designed so that you can wash your hands in a jungle atmosphere.
Andrew Joss (14/04/2017 16:32)
Best Zoo in the world. Fantastic animals in large enclosures. Good facilities and opportunities to get close to certain animals. The setting is the best part. Love it here. And the Pandas are awesome.
Fann S (21/03/2017 04:34)
It's one of the best zoos in the world and it deserves it. Attractions are pretty packed together and it only takes 2-3 hours to visit all the exhibits. There are also many shows available to spend more time there. Food establishments are quite limited so bring your own food.
Basant Sekhani (05/03/2017 13:59)
One of the best zoo so far i have seen! Its neat, clean, spacious with all amenities required for visitors. You can also see animals from around the world. Staff is quite professional and helpful!
gigi chui (04/03/2017 08:28)
One of the best zoo I've been to, you can find animals like peacock roam around freely, a lot of the habitat were designed in a smart way so animals don't have to live behind bars. All animals looks healthy and we'll taken care of. And if you are a bat lover like me, there is a spot you can look at them at a close distance workout any fence or grass window in between
Sharath Shivakumar (19/02/2017 13:35)
The zoo is quite extensive. Lots of primates are freely roaming above you. The dinosaur exhibits are impressive. Some enclosures where bats n lemurs are kept, you can almost touch them. Some animals especially the Orangutans looked bored or so I thought! The leopard was very actively walking from one end to the other. The white tigers are active at 2 pm coz 2:20 it is their feeding time. The rhino enclosure is smelly. It is a good place for kids to learn n appreciate nature.
Anon Z (17/02/2017 03:36)
Clearly one of the best zoo I've ever seen. Best thing is that the animals have quite a lot of room to move around unlike the cages which I've seen quite often in other zoos. They also organise special events like feeding time which is an attraction in itself.
avinash tomer (25/10/2016 08:55)
It's the best zoo that I have seen till date. Great collection of animals and very well maintained. The way in which the park has been setup also makes its looks so awesome. It's lush green. Will add pics shortly
Shaun Wall (19/10/2016 03:36)
Having only really been to zoos in the UK, I didn't expect the level of interactivity that Singapore Zoo offers visitors: as soon as you enter the park, there are monkeys free-roaming around above you, able to come down to you if they wanted - some animals were separated only by a waist-high fence as if it were a farm, allowing direct interaction with animals. The feeding trails were a unique way to interact further, for $3 a pop you could feed the animals at set times throughout the day, giraffes, white rhinos, elephants, really neat!
I find the fact Singapore's zoo is essentially split up into four parks (Zoo, Night, River and Bird) allows for a much more diverse range of animals than other parks can offer: I've never seen a zoo with naked mole rats for a strange example, made for a really different experience!
All the animals appeared well looked after and fed, with well-maintained enclosures and such, which makes a big difference for the general amenability of animals and the experience; happy animals = happy visitors!
Would definitely recommend as a day out, it took us a whole day and we still only managed 3/4 - 4/5 of the whole park, and that isn't including the whole Fragile Forest area which was closed for renovation!
Rufus Philip (10/10/2016 13:42)
Even though the entry ticket price seems a little steep, it's totally worth it. The animals are healthy and well taken care of. They have good clean space. And each enclosure is very informative about the animal. They inform you about how different animals are endangered and/or close to extinction and how we can help. They even have animals which were rescued from captivity from illegal traders. Very novel.
Deepak P.B (08/10/2016 05:06)
Best zoo I have ever visited. Animals are living in a great well planned natural environment. Enjoyed the zoo and feeding sessions. Loved the polar bear much during feeding session
Jeffrey Gow (01/09/2016 08:16)
Singapore Zoo is not only a place where we can view all kinds of different animals in the wild, it is also a place for children and family to have a SPLASH in the water play to cool off the heat!
The eateries in the Zoo venue prices are on the above average. Overall experienced, is GOOD! - Well maintain, up keep and continuous forward looking expansion/redesign of new attraction(s).
I have been to lots of zoo in the South East ASIA, nothing compares to this Singapore Zoo! Keep Up the Good Work!
Ethan Paulson (08/07/2016 22:31)
Such an awesome zoo! I'm from San Diego and so I am definitely spoiled when it comes to zoos, but I was really impressed with everything here! Lots of exhibits and animals to walk around and see, monkeys hanging around the park and quite a few shows to choose from. Definitely worth a visit.
Dawn L (06/07/2016 05:55)
Fun but pretty huge. I would recommend taking a tram which you can hop on and off different stops to see animals. Loved how the zoo allows for animal (elephant, giraffe etc) feeding. Quite alot of fun I say!
Trent Collins (30/06/2016 14:46)
One of the best zoos that we have been to. Lots of variety as well as shows and feeding of animals. Well spread out and never feels crowded.
Make sure you bring swimmers as there is a great kids water play park that is great for cooling off.
Harish TCS (07/06/2016 07:23)
Friendly staff. Clear signs make sure you don't get lost. Easily accessible by public transport. An excellent food court is available. They have a wide variety of animals
Gjay Martinez (05/06/2016 09:26)
The place is well maintained. Clean and organized. It is very kid friendly as they have wagon and trolley rentals. There are no shortage of shows for entertainment and food kiosks for visitors. Water fountains could be a great add on for certains stops/areas.
