Aside from walking and cycling, I have had very limited experience playing sport. Jay is an incredibly patient coach and I feel comfortable in approaching Jay with my specific concerns. Over the last 7 months, I have not felt judged by Jay by my lack of skill nor the lack of time (or dedication) to practice unlike the previous experience I have had previously with another coach in Singapore.
I have improved tremendously since my first lesson with Jay. Being a busy working professional, the fact that I am able to lock in a weekly time for lessons has made juggling lessons easier and forced a commitment to the lessons. Jay's booking system and weekly calendar reminders for lessons also makes organising lessons a breeze especially if you're playing as a group ... or if you're into just making your life a little more organised.
From my experience, the thorough explanations by Jay at the outset regarding the bulk discount packages/one-off lessons and his coaching hours/court availability meant that I was completely clear on the arrangements and conditions regarding each option. With proper notice, Jay has been extremely accommodating and fair on the occasions where I have had to change my lessons around due to work commitments and holiday plans. Jay is also extremely prompt at responding and you are not left hanging (wondering if someone has received your message is the worst!).
If you are thinking of trying Jay out as a coach, I cannot urge you enough to try him out. He is fantastic!

We are beginners who don't have a lot of time to practice on our own. Jay has helped us improve our technique significantly and gives practical tips to help us improve our game so we can enjoy tennis more. About 9 months on, we can sustain a rally and have moved on from having a waiter's serve. his off court communication is responsive and efficient as well. easy to work with.

Jay is a great coach. After switching to his lessons I felt that I was hitting the balls more accurately and with a lot less effort than I did before. I have been improving ever since I started my first lesson with him. His replies are prompt and let's you know if the lesson has to be cancelled due to rain and when is the next available date to reschedule. The online booking system makes booking lessons easy and sends reminders for upcoming lessons as well, which is great for busy people. Definitely would recommend to anyone who wants to improve and even pick up the sport.

Jay is a great coach! When i moved to Singapore, i had tennis lessons for 7 months or so...in a couple of lessons with him, he gave me the right tips and techniques to improve and I was really impressed! He can adapt to any level, and it is super easy to book and have the reminders, check for available slots, etc...Really happy with it! Thank you Jay!

Excellent lesson with Jay - had a couple of sessions with him while visiting Singapore. Very focused, knowledgeable and brings across new movements/techniques in a very simple and clear way. Highly recommend his coaching - I will definitely be going back.

My impression of Jay is that he is the most dedicated and knowledgeable coach I have met so far. Compared to other coaches, he is in a different class in terms of his ability to accurately identify areas of improvement and then show you the most effective and efficient way to get results. In addition, Jay is very patient, observant, and clear in his coaching.
I came to Jay mainly looking to improve the consistency of my ground strokes, which were weak and very inconsistent. Over about 8 hours of lessons, I have seen drastic improvements in the consistency and power of my groundstrokes. Every lesson was enlightening and insightful, and I’m in awe at the improvement. This experience has made me much more enthusiastic about tennis. For me, every game of tennis is that much more enjoyable now that I can deliver strong, consistent ground strokes.

Jay has the knowledge and sharpness to dissect one's game and convey enhancing recommendations. One can feel the difference very apparently and I am convinced minor accurate adjustments work wonders. Kudos Jay!

Jay is a fantastic tennis coach. I have been with him for a while and my game has certainly improved. His multiple years as a professional on the circuit clearly reflects in his coaching. He is observant and corrects errors in one's technique almost immediately. I strongly recommend taking lessons from Jay.

Jay is a great tennis coach. I have been taking lessons from him for about a year. My game has dramatically improved. Jay is one of the few coaches who has experience on the professional tour playing the same era as Mark Philipoussis so he has the depth of knowledge and experience to take your game as far as you can go. He also has professional sports science qualifications. His coaching style is based on sound technique drawing on his decades of experience as a tennis professional. Definitely worth the investment in taking lessons with Jay.

Ten minutes into my first lesson with Jay and three shots later, I was hitting the ball with more depth and power with less effort. Jay has an incredible knowledge when it comes to all things tennis, his understanding of the biomechanics of the swing and ability to apply that to improve my swing is unparalleled.

Jay is dedicated and extremely professional, creating a great atmosphere for learning.
I started out at zero, and I very much appreciate his keen observation of technique and immediate correction, with demonstration of ways to practice it better. He has great positive energy which makes every lesson enjoyable.
He is able to teach, improve and challenge you to play at your best and improve- no matter what level of tennis you are currently at.

Not just a tennis hit. Jay analyzed my strokes and gave me some excellent improvements to work on. Great value for a short time on court. Even if you are only visiting Singapore for a few days take an hour and hit with Jay.

Jay has a huge talent for coaching tennis and will make corrections to your technique that reap immediate benefits. His enthusiasm is infectious and he is extremely professional. He understands anatomy and nutrition and biomechanics and uses great examples to illustrate his teaching points. Get a lesson ASAP if you can!

I came to Singapore as a beginner in tennis - with barely actual experience playing and limited knowledge on technique. Before learning from Jay, private tennis lessons felt like a struggle as I had no idea what I was doing. Tennis was not fun. It was tedious and my coaches offered next to no advice.
Jay, however, helped slow down the game for me by offering little pieces of advice that improved my technique drastically. He helped me focus on each aspect of my technique. As my skill increased, so did my enjoyment of the game. Jay has a positive attitude and energy that makes the game more fun and relaxing. He helped me improve a lot and made me enjoy Tennis so much more.

During my first lesson with Jay it became very clear to me that what I thought was good coaching in the past was nowhere near the quality of coaching that Jay provides.
He is an expert in pinpointing the exact cause of your errors. Better still, he always has the perfect correction that I need to implement. Amazingly, as soon as you apply his teaching it works immediately with significantly noticeable results.
Try one lesson with Jay and you'll never go back. Thanks Jay!

“Jay was definitely the best tennis coach I’ve ever had! He broke everything down and actually had theory to what he was teaching. I’ve previously had private lessons before and came away from them feeling like I had a good workout but still wondering whether or not I was hitting the ball any better.
Really appreciated Jay’s deliberate approach and attention to detail. You definitely know what you’re being taught is correct because when you apply it, you really notice the improvement right away! I wish I had learned this from the beginning of my tennis days as it’s so effortless and the strokes feel great. Like everything that’s worth doing, this is something I have to work at. But now it’s not so frustrating as I know exactly what I should be doing. Can’t wait for next time!”

Jay is a top class coach with really sharp eyes. He is able to pin point problems that make dramatic improvement an immediate result.
He is also an expert in sports science and biomechanics and he patiently explains clearly why things should be done in certain ways by making reference to what we see from the top pros. This is extremely useful and informative.
Besides teaching just the "how" and "what" to do, his emphasis on teaching also the "why" is very enlightening and convincing. It is really a great experience learning from Jay.

Best tennis coach I've had so far. What Jay does different in my mind is his logical explanation of what the most efficient tennis stroke should be. He made sure that I clearly understood what the perfect form is first, which was really helpful. Unlike other coaches who would be telling me what I did wrong on each stroke, with Jay, I usually know what my mistake is before he points it out, because I am driven to think about perfect form on every stroke. Also, the form he explained to me, which logically makes a lot of sense, is less prone to injuries. My ball speed is as fast as before, but I don't suffer from tennis elbow as I did in the past.
