Extremely dated . Most of the exhibits aren't even working . Place was empty and creepy . Do not recommend.

An old attraction that doesn’t seem to have had recent updates to make the place more interesting or welcoming. Parts of the discovery center are not well lit and the staff there are not welcoming or courteous. There seems to be a general lack of interest to perform good quality customer service to guests and tourists as the place seems to be meant for student tour groups.

Small attraction which teaches about National Education and has a small cinema showing local films and blockbusters although the showtimes are extremely limited (check web for details). It tends to be pretty empty unless you visit on a day where there is a school tour. On certain days there are also visits available to the army museum and a bus tour around an army camp.

A place where events are held all year round. Great place to visit with family and friends. Theres is not much eatery in this place but there are a few fast food restaurants near the Joo Koon MRT,just a few meteres away.

Amazing find of a small museum. Lots of interesting gadgets. Nearest MRT station at Joo Koon.

Fun and a lot of free activities for the family, especially on weekends (during school holidays). Usually, they will have some end of semester / school year programmes for school students, which they then translate into weekend events for families. Most of the events are free, and they give away prizes for competing / lucky draw.
Even if you don't win, usually the kids will get a take home souvenir and a few hours of fun there. Good for them to learn a bit about the history of Singapore as well.
The cinema here is cheaper than outside, though I personally haven't tried it. Food wise, try buying from the snack kiosk instead of the canteen. The canteen's food isn't that good. Other paid activities include paintball (please check with them for price).
A good 10 minutes walk from Joo Koon MRT, but there are parking spaces there (free I think).

I have been here many times and i must say the activities and exhibits are great. I usually enjoy spending a day here with my son and his friends. However, like most free things, people do not value them and do not treat them well... The equipment show more wear and tear than usual... at least by Singapore standards.
And this being a snapshot showcasing Singapore's best and future... I hope that everyone, from visitors to staff do better.

At reaching 30 years old, i still had fun running around the discovery centre with my wife, you get to see and experience all sort of interesting games and quiz and watch interesting short clips, like what makes singapore singapore and why certain values needs to be there, she got to fire the SAR used in army as well, i think she enjoyed the experience. Bring your kids there!

Had a Teh-O, sat down in the al fresco section and enjoyed the fountain in the middle of the man-made pond spraying water about 6 metres in the air...

get a membership. you wont regret free IMAX 3D movies all year as well as free entrance to the actual discovery center where there are a ton of games. food stalls are nice and cheap but close at 5. shooting range is the best and the 4D ride can differ based on the actual ride. Get a yearly membership and just come every weekend for the movies. Pretty accessible from joo koon mrt as well as several buses

Great place for finding about the history of our armed forces

An out of the place location to locate an exhibition centre that exhibits our Singapore Story. Would be better if it is centrally located. The military exhibits could be better viewed at the army camps like Safti, oeti or bmtc.

Very nice place for kids and for adults too. Must visit.

The Singapore Discovery Centre is a 'edutainment' and tourist attraction located in Jurong West, Singapore. The centre includes exhibits which display the history of Singapore as well as an insight on the future

Best place for the cheapest movies any day of the week despite having to walk quite a bit from the MRT. Pretty sad they're showing The Emoji Movie this month though (August 2017)

It was really good place, a place where you can learn lot about Singapore.
Had a corporate event (Family Day). All in a good place to spend around 4-5 hrs.

Good place for kids, if they love soldier toy, tanks and helicopter. Went there to check out the place for my son and found out a few thing.
1) Their family package is about SGD 110, for a family of 4. Yet, their movies (as of today 1 july 2017) are the latest despicable me/ pirates of the caribbean, you watch FREE movie whole year everyday! family or alone. That's immediate saving after 3 trips compared to outside.
2) Most exciting everyone must do stuff is the rifle range. Real M16 and SAR 21 shooting gallery, one time per visitor, real recoil.
3) Hidden behind the army center is a few real Tanks, helicopter, vehicles you can touch and photo with, mini SOC course for you kids. (bring mosq repellent)
4) Singaporean goes everywhere FREE! This place is designed for singaporean, foreigner are welcome but needs to pay, even PR.
5) 4D or 5D adventure ride. Again, free if you joined family annual package.
It's not a top of the list visiting place, but if you run out of things to do in the WEST, visit it like a park, very relaxing place if not crowded.

Strait-forward yet modern location to equip tourists with basic information about Singapore.

Been years since I was last here. Nothing has changed much. The one thing new for me is the SAFTI bus tour, a 20 mins bus tour around the Singapore Arm Forces Training Institute (SAFTI), no photos allowed in the training area though.
It's a good place to learn about the birth of the Singapore Arm Forces. Visit only if you have time to spare while in Singapore. After visiting Singapore Discovery Centre. You can head towards Jurong Point for shopping and food. 😆

Nothing there really. Army museum already old attraction

An excellent museum that walks you through the history of Singapore. Definitely recommend.

Singapore Discovery Centre made me discovered that the Singapore government is very rich. The air conditioning is on at full blast even though the huge 5000 sqm premises are empty of people on a weekend.
The exhibits and visual displays are dated but well maintained, and the whole area is generally clean.
The whole place is devoid of visitors but it was kept running anyway with a full staff strength. Good for a nice but lonely visit to discover how rich Singapore is, and you can end the trip in the outdoor cafeteria, which provides an excellent view of a man-made lake...
Situated at a desolate location where even birds choose not to lay eggs.

Quiet and cosy. Interesting place to visit if you haven't. Free parking. Nice bus tour of the Safari camp.

To understand more about the Island Country's past and present. This place is a must visit for history lovers. Although only 50 years of independence, the interactive experience here provides an enriching experience.
Benseun Kwek (21/06/2016 14:03)
Houses a military museum nearby as well. Facilities quite new. Very empty and quiet as it is far from mrt. Good for tourists who likes quiet places.
Kai En Chua (18/06/2016 05:04)
Good place for family to spend time here. While enjoying the facilities available, they can learn many new things! The place is not crowded and this means the place is quiet and peaceful. Come here if you want to avoid the crowd.
Siming Zhou (15/06/2016 10:29)
Exhibits are ok but quite a lot needed to be revamped and updated. Cheap place for movies as they have a big iWerks theatre with cheap tickets at $10 for blockbuster movies.
