I don't like school in specific but I loved SAS, why because the breaks were long, and the grown ups always helped when I was unhappy, and I met Dyvan, Rachel, Shodai, Ethan, Aaron, Will Coppala, Paul Keaner, and a lot of other people

Education in the past has been good at making kids fit the mold: the IB mold, the AP mold, the IGCSE mold. The mold often says what is possible and what is not. Singapore American School, however, is giving students possibilities like never before with personalized learning, new course offerings, and passion pathways. Students at SAS find their true selves rather than letting a system define who they can become and how far they can go.

I have 3 children and they all attend SAS. This is our first year experiencing Middle School. We had positive experiences in elementary and wanted the same in middle school. Unfortunately, we've not received it. I've dropped my daughter off at 7:30 so that she can receive extra help by her teacher only to be told that he is too busy planning his lessons. When she tries to see him at lunch, she is told it's not the right time, as 'teachers need their time too'. After school, the teachers leave before 3:30. The school is considered to be standards-based but in another class, my daughter didn't pass an assignment because she forgot to bold her words. This is how they're graded? We know that this isn't everyone's experience. There are other teachers in same block who we hear offer extra time, resources, etc. It's unfair that two families pay the same tuition and receive opposite levels of care. Last minute lesson prep? No time for extra help? Almost zero resources for students? Even less communication with parents? I know that SAS makes extraordinary care and solid teaching instruction possible. We hear about it from other parents in our block. But with a 50% chance that our next 2 may not get it, and counselors refusing to see the reality of some of their classrooms, we've started to look elsewhere. We've spoken about this with the counsellors but are told that each teacher has their own styles and that students should learn to adapt. We certainly have taught our children to find benefits in all. But the lack of accountability is just not right.

Absolutely delighted with the standards, quality and teaching/curriculum style of the school. Kids stay happy and productive. Love the heritage and history...

The teachers at SAS want to be there and are enthusiastic, caring and very involved in the school. Both of my kids were at SAS for high school and graduated from SAS, one starting as a Freshman and the other a Junior. A shout out to Mark Swardstadt for being one of the best HS counselors (at the time my kids were there) you could have. Another gold strar for Mr. Crawford- HS Physics who led the way for my daughter to be accepted to one of the best Engineering schools in the country. Both of my kids went screaming and kicking to SAS and upon graduation they told my husband and I they would do it all over again and it was one of the best experiences in their lives. I would have to agree!

My family moved to Singapore the summer before my senior year of high school from our home just outside Houston, Texas. I came kicking and screaming, begging to go back home to finish my senior year. After a couple months I was wishing time would slow down because I was having so much fun.
World-class teachers pushed me outside of my comfort zone and expected more of me than had ever been expected. The list of extracurriculars available was extensive and I even got to help start a breakdance club, which led to a variety of opportunities for years to come. I did a school trip to Vienna and Budapest! Seriously, where else can you take a cultural studies trip to Europe during Chinese New Year?!
My daughter now attends SAS and is in the preschool and I couldn't be happier. The teachers, curriculum, and atmosphere needs to be seen and experienced to be understood and appreciated. She loves it and comes excited about school.
Since my own time as a student I have hoped for the time I would get to come back and can't believe that I'm back in Singapore and that my daughter is now a student.
If you have the opportunity to have your kids attend SAS, do it. The experience will benefit them for the rest of their life.

I hear from alumni weekly. SAS changed my life. SAS changed my child's life. There is not place on earth as life-changing as SAS. There is a special sauce here that is truly extraordinary. One can't merely talk about - you have to life it to understand. #SASRocks

We've been very happy at SAS for the last seven years. Excellent facilities, engaged faculty, and high expectations and support for students. There is a culture of continuous improvement which has been very evident over the last 4 years. We really appreciate SAS.

GREAT EXPERIENCE! Nice facility, nice faculty as well. Lunch Ladies are absolutely delightful, and teachers are AWESOME! The library is huge and full of great informational books as well as ones to enjoy. science is always a fun subject, because we get to use professional equipment. There arn't really any bullies, and if there are, counselors are there to help. There are so many electives to choose from if you're a middle schooler, and all the courses are well thought out and helpful. It's pretty pricey, but it was a joy to be there, it was by far the best school I've ever been to. :)
