Pretty chill experience. The entire walk is covered, so no worries about rain or shine. The entire park is quite small, which makes it suitable for children around ages 2-4. My 20 month old son enjoyed it even though he didn't quite appreciate the variety of species in exhibit. Whatever he could recognize, he was quite happy to see the animals in real life.

There are also strollers, trolleys, motorized wheelchairs, etc for rent if you are not a big walker. A huge plus is that the entire park is wheelchair friendly.

Yamuna Munkuthy (21/05/2018 03:05)
it's sheltered pretty much all the way so ya can visit it rain or shine. but its a rip off. basically they have moved some animals which were previously part of the zoo here, like the panda. river cruise was really bad. nothing to see at all. waste of time. better off going to the Singapore Zoo.

Nishant Nair (05/05/2018 11:36)
They have a unique boat safari where they show you a bunch of nice animals including a jaguar. They also have a very unique collection of underwater animals. The reservoir cruise was pretty normal. Avoid going on a rainy day because the boat rides close during the rains

Abhilash Chandrashekar (28/04/2018 17:41)
River safari was suspended due to rain and lightning and never looked like it was going to start even after waiting for half an hour. It was very disappointing. There was no indication of the possibility of a refund. There was a board which said we can see 85 percent of the animals on foot which is what we ended up doing. There was no warning that this would happen and no suggestion to do the river safari first keeping this outcome in mind. They can easily fix this by selling tickets near the boat. But the idea here seems to be to take people's money whether they get the Safari or not. So, best thing to do would be to go to River Safari first or buy the tickets for this only just before going to it. Even then this outcome can not be ruled out. The animals were not that great viewed on foot.

Heng Heng (23/04/2018 12:01)
Important note: it is sheltered throughout the whole park. Great for rainy days!
Great place for everyone to understand our Earths river system. Boat ride was an experience for young and old. Lots of beautiful fishes and other exotic animals on display. Recommended for everyone!

I think this place is really underrated. It is overshadowed by the zoo (which we didn't go to, but I hear it is fantastic). I wasn't expecting much, because the locals we talked to recommended the zoo over the river safari. However the River Safari is the only place where you can see the pandas. They have 2 pandas and a red panda as well. But they also have some great exhibits revolving around different eco systems in all of the world's great rivers. They have some truly unique animals here. The squirrel monkey exhibit is also very cool. This was one of my favorite things we did in Singapore.

Lee Chengjie (03/04/2018 17:46)
A great addition to the wildlife attractions in Mandai. Got to get really close up to the squirrel monkeys in the enclosed area. The Amazon River Quest boat ride was slightly disappointing as quite a number of the showcased animals were taking shelter in the afternoon heat and not clearly visible.

Winnie Sp (26/03/2018 05:26)
Nice park with two water rides. Reservoir cruise is free and the Amazon river cruise cost $5 for adult and $3 for children. This is in addition to paid entrance. Suggest you plan your trip, we are here on a week day morning. There is no queues and no crowds. There's free Wifi in the park, signal is strong throughout but speed can be better. Most of the walkways are sheltered so it good relief from the heat. The Panda enclosure provides up close and quite view of the Pandas.

Suraj Raj (14/03/2018 01:32)
There are various freshwater fishes and some animals that can be found here. The area is just next to the Singapore Zoo, hence is easily accessible to visitors looking for more.
Also included is a boat ride along the reservoir which is a relaxed and informative ride.
Visitors can pay extra for the amazon river quest which is another boat ride. There are various facilities present here for the convenience of tourists.

The river side safari could be a great success with small improvements. I find that the music is too loud around the park and disturbs the animals. They are always under constant stress of humans looking at them, taking pictures, ad the HORRENDOUS loud music. It’s a safari, not a theme park! Please make it better for your animals. They matter more. Also the boat safari really needs a major rethink. We didn’t see anything at all and I believe that the boat captain should be talking, not the radio to make it more interactive and entertaining. Please put a purpose into the boat ride! To me it was just a 15 min boat ride to nowhere and nothing actually happened.

However the rest of the park is good but please make those adjustments and it will be a lot better. Mark my words.

hinesh gorasia (30/11/2017 05:16)
Main attraction is Giant Panda. Over all it's OK, but if but when we gone to amazon river quest kids enjoyed that ride very much and they still cherishing that. So come here only if kids are with you they will enjoy here more

Charis Koh (26/11/2017 12:18)
River creatures are rarely featured but are every bit as important as sea creatures. Nice place with good conservation messages. Able to walk around whole park in 2-3 hours. Sheltered so good for both sunny and rainy days

Ajesh Ramakrishnan (06/11/2017 03:04)
Very less attractions. If you have seen SEA aquarium you may not enjoy the aquariums in the walkway towards the cruise. It is almost a half kilometre walk to the cruise. So if anyone has any problems with walking should use the wheelchair provided. The river cruise is a waste. You are shown Giraffe and Hippo from a distant which can be easily seen in Singapore zoo. The only good thing is the Amazon River quest for which they charge extra. If you are on a tight budget and have less time can easily skip this.

Wylene Yap (20/10/2017 01:18)
Annual visit to the zoo.
Some new exhibits at the river Safari...
But nothing really exciting
Except the electric eels...
Cool specimens...
didn't expect them to be so thick and long

Maybe it's the heat...
But we were really ready to leave after a brisk morning walk through the zoo and a quick browse of the river Safari

Cassandra Sue (05/10/2017 09:43)
This is the first attraction we have been to in Singapore and we were totally impressed. The Amazon Quest was suspended that day and we didn't want to line up for the River Cruise but skipping both didn't affect our enjoyment. The range of fish and other animals was good, the tanks were large and the water sparkling clear. Just be aware this showcases fresh water fish so don't expect to see a colourful coral reef. All animals were easy to spot in their enclosure as they were thoughtfully planned out. The monkeys and the red panda in particular liked showing off for the crowd. A lot of the safari walk is covered so it's a great option for especially wet days.

Yip Lim Bing (08/09/2017 13:54)
The place is kinda small, which puts a bit of the bummer on the whole experience.
However, this place is really excellent, with the Mekong river exhibit being a star attraction.
But the pandas are the real stars.
The panda exhibit is air-conditioned, which is a plus in tropical Singapore.
The pandas are quite close to you, with a careless concept which is carried over from the main zoo.
The boat ride is also pretty great, easily worth the entry fee of $5 per adult, and $3 per child (anyone below 12 years old)

Luss Le (08/09/2017 13:45)
Went there on a Monday. There was no long queue for anything at all. It was like we have everything to ourselves. Quite enjoyable, especially the amazon quest. Sadly we couldn't see the 2 pandas. It was a great visit but...only once is enough.

Michael Guinness (27/08/2017 08:12)
Well set out but the extra charge to see a large part of the zoo (via a ride) is a bit of a cheek. The manatee exhibit is beautiful as are a number of others such as the Mekong River tank. Animals are clearly well cared for.

Luke Ashley (26/08/2017 14:46)
It was nice. Do not bother to go for the cruise if you do not like to queue. It's not worth the queue. If you do not mind waiting, it's ok to join them. The ride wasn't much.

The amazon ride was quite fun for the kids but they have to be of a min height.

The panda cafe was very very crowded. It was impossible to get a table

Long walk to the exit.

Pandas were adorable. Lucky to be able to see them

Michael Patane (12/07/2017 15:31)
Lots of fish in an underground, walk through fish tank. Tank glass is very thick... like 8 or more inches thick. Also a cool little boat ride, but in the spirit of nickel & dimeing you to death, the boat ride is extra, and not worth the price. Lots of food to buy, but the best one is the ice cream. Bathroom was clean, just like the rest of the park. And I really like how they are trying to save the animals.

Pily Wong (11/07/2017 01:44)
One of the latest attraction in Singapore and one of the best organized. It is like a zoo with all animals and fishes you can find in Tropical Forest, the path and direction of the visit is very clear, only one way unlike the zoo. It takes about 2-3hrs to finish. Nice to visit after zoo and before going to Night Safari.

Erwan Berori (03/07/2017 06:02)
It's a great place to spend time with the kids (5-8 year old) with close encounters with the wild creatures in there.
There's no need to be under the hot sun too long and the main highlights of the attraction are the pandas and the manatees.
There's also educational materials for visitors to know how the importance of conserving the environment.
Look out for scheduled interactions with some animals with snakes, iguanas and other animals not found in your homes or backyards.

Mary Wren (02/07/2017 09:22)
Loved the Giant Pandas although we waited until late afternoon to see them feeding and active. The Manatees are beautiful and very amusing to watch. The river boat safari bit is only about 10mins and could be a lot longer and more interesting.

Chrissy (17/05/2017 08:28)
Panda Love!! We love the cute and cuddly Pandas and never miss an opportunity to meet them at the River Safari. Its a wonderful place to see the sea life from fishes to crocodiles and turtles.
Little ones are sure the enjoy the whole day watching the sea creatures and Panda. :)

Abdullah Al Mamun (24/04/2017 16:38)
River safari is basically walking and seeing fishes and some animals in large aquariums. The boat ride was no fun at all unless you are happy with just riding on a boat. Good that they don't charge extra for it. There is another, called Amazon ride which requires extra ticket, I couldn't experience as I had a child who was shorter than allowed height.

Michael Senjaya Kang (23/04/2017 08:54)
Our family loves this place for its serenity and the fact that it's sheltered all the way from the start to the end. Unless of course if you are taking the boat ride. Four stars for the variety of animals, most are too commonly known for animal lovers.

Rohan Railkar (20/03/2017 07:45)
Amazing place! For kids, teens, and adults alike! :)
Recommend spending a day here for the Zoo, River safari and Night safari.
Look out for timings of the shows/exhibits on the website. And save money with the ParkHopper Plus pass.
River safari tour takes just 15 minutes and an additional hour for the exhibits. Be sure to spend more time at the zoo during the day.

Shane (19/03/2017 03:54)
A large variety of river side/aquatic animals to see also the whole park is under cover so there is no need to worry about a rainy day there is also 2 rides the "Amazon safari" which is around a 5 minute boat ride to show the animals that live in the Amazon and the "river side cruise" which takes you around the river to see elephants, giraffes and if your lucky other animals too. This park is a very family friendly park not only for the rides but the shows as well which you'll need to be quick since it fills up quickly.

Overall a very fun experience a must see if your touring around singapore.

Kevin Boo (17/02/2017 06:56)
Loved it! Well maintained, covered walk way, fans and air-conditioning provides a very comfortable experience. Normal non reclining strollers available for rental. Worth visiting just for the pandas

Aqiul Colombowala (31/01/2017 16:34)
River Safari is a fantastic place! It's located right next door to the Singapore Zoo and should be a must visit place!

There's a lot of animals and marine life on display as you make your way to the calm and comforting river cruise. Next up should be the log ride known as River Quest that takes you through the heart of the river safari and brings you close to the wildlife! Definitely a must do activity.

Deval Gupta (20/12/2016 12:01)
Just loved the number of species being raised and taken care of here. The most important part of this safari was seeing the polar bear and the pandas. They were the highlights of the trip. The zoo and the river safari are two inseparable things. You can't enjoy one without the other. Please visit with family. Your kids will start loving you more. The fauna here is really informative for them as well. Adios!!

Juan Wei C (14/12/2016 01:07)
First visit here - I've been to the zoo and night safari many years ago. The river safari is pretty impressive for a man made freshwater park - set in a natural environment. I spend a lot of time in the wild and I still enjoyed this place, just don't set your expectation way too high and you'll be okay to spend around 2 hours here with the family. The Amazon river ride is fun but kinda short. Try not to go around midday as most of the animals will probably be napping. Early or later parts of the day will probably be better.

Abdul Rahim Mohamed Yusoff (13/12/2016 03:39)
Located just beside the Singapore Zoo, The River Safari is the newest wildlife park in Singapore which offers exhibits featuring various river habitats that can be found throughout South East Asia. Look forward to some of the monster sized fishes, snapping turtles, alligators, otters, pythons, a whole lot of aquarium set ups and of course, Pandas!

A must go place for freshwater aquarium lovers!

There is also a station where visitors can touch and feel starfishes and shoe crabs.

The park is mostly sheltered.

Water coolers can be found at toilet points all around the park. Do remember to bring your own bottles!

Sean Moloney (21/10/2016 10:16)
We loved the river safari! There are lots of water exhibits, but the River Safari has a huge range of exhibits. Make sure you plan enough time to take in the huge array of tanks and exhibits. Enjoy their red pands and giant pandas, and enjoy the two boat rides!

Shaun Wall (16/10/2016 06:48)
Crazy big fish, prehistoric looking crocodiles and turtles make for a good couple hours - a quarter of the animals were inaccessible (can only be seen by small log flume things which were closed), and the "River Safari Cruise" was a pointless waste of time; you spend 30 minutes queueing for a ten minute circle around an empty reservoir whilst the boat plays angsty teenage music which was weird.

But yeah, big fish. Kinda cool, the main Zoo and Night Safari are much better though, I felt.

Khanh Nguyen (13/10/2016 02:05)
Who knew fresh water animals were so amazing! I now want to see the world's great rivers. Honestly it's eye-opening, you'll see river in whole other way. The panda's were super cute, we went through the panda exhibit twice because the first time everyone was sleeping or grooming in the corner. Second time we caught them at feeding time and bouncing around. so i recommend you taking your time if you wanna see them in action.

Scott Savage (04/10/2016 00:13)
Follow a single loop path through this very well setup zoo. Lots of educational displays, great variety of animals and two boat rides. Great for little kids looking for a two hour highlight tour of animals.

Ryan Phung (26/08/2016 14:54)
The newest zoo in Singapore (up to this point).

Very well maintained, the animals are well fed and taken care responsibly.

Of course, the 2 pandas are everyone's favourites. But some of my favourites also include the red pandas (just before you visit the pandas), the big crocodiles, some of the big fishes, and of course the dugongs towards the end is truly a magical experience.

If the uncle that sells ice-cream in the pineapple is still there, try it, it's very good! :)

DoRiS chow (09/07/2016 02:18)
Thoroughly enjoy River Safari more than Zoo and Night Safari, maybe because it is the newest. The Amazon exhibit is my fave, although it is nothing like the real Amazon, it is as good as it gets in Singapore.

Soumen Bhattacharjee (03/07/2016 06:59)
Nice river park themed with different river animals around the world. Great place to see Giant panda, Red panda and can have fun with them. Nice place to be with childrens.

Leo Liharma Dwipayana Saragih (17/06/2016 09:15)
I have visited this place. This facility is awesome. Nice, clean and great place for relax, also for spending time with our family. Everything here is well-organized.

Sangeeta Kalita (01/06/2016 08:21)
NICE PLACE TO GO & RELAX IF YOU ARE A BUSY PERSON MOST OF THE DAYS IN A CONCRETE CITY , YOU CAN SEE SOME ANIMALS , DO A LITTLE RIVER SAFARI . SINCE I BELONG FROM A NATURALLY BLESSED PLACE WITH GREENERY , RIVERS, BIRDS & ANIMALS ; RIVER SAFARI DESTINATION WAS NOT THAT EXCITING FOR ME . BUT I LOVED THE ROAD & BUS TRIP , YOU WILL ENJOY GREENERY & SMOOTH RIDING .

kiki amano (12/04/2016 16:04)
The aquariums are well maintained. Amazing range of fresh water fishes! Monster fish aquarium was the highlight. Also, it was mostly sheltered unlike the zoo, so it doesn't feel hot. Favorite among the zoo attractions there!
