One of the most gorgeous hotels we have visited. It is historic for being the home of the Singapore sling. Note: You can actually get a discount on the Singapore sling if you get it at afternoon tea instead of just ordering it at the cafe. The hotel is undergoing a lot of renovations and construction. They also have a strict dress code for the afternoon tea

Classic but very very pricey. A cool experience if visiting Singapore though. Currently under renovation until end of 2018.

Internationally well-known hotel that was named after the founder of Singapore., Sir Stamford RAFFLES. It was built in the colonial style at the end of the nineteenth century, with its typical columns, balconies, terraces, galleries and courtyards with lots of greenery. The rooms and bathrooms , at that time, were very spacious.Everything is well maintained. At this moment the hotel is closed due to renovation and it scheduled to reopen in the second half of 2018.The location is fine, close to the city center, tourist attractions and shopping streets. Absolutely recommended in this hotel is the ,,afternoon tea,, with harp music and a great buffet !

The quintessential hotel built in the bygone colonial era style. Currently under renovation and refurbishment. Entertained Michael Jackson when he visited for his world tour back in the 1990s. Fantastic service, and beautiful facade.

One of the most beautiful experience you can have going in Asia. The hotel is an old a well maintained colonial building. The service is extremely professional and the rooms are fantastic. Breakfast is simply outstanding. You can really feel oriental luxury everywhere and you will not be disappointed to stay here a couples of nights. Absolutely to do when going in Singapore for holidays (or business as well!)

The REAL destination, for the REAL travelers... Since more than hundred years, the "Grand Tour" in the Far East at its best! Simply you can't miss the chance to visit the extraordinary iconic place of Singapore. Established in 1887, it's the perfect way to immerse yourself in the luxury and lavish atmosphere of the colonial era and being part of story of the British Empire in this corner of the world. And once you will be there, the MUST is to seat at the bar and enjoy a glass of one of the most iconic and classic cocktail in the world: the Singapore sling... a MUST that you will love and will never forget your life through!

Stayed overnight. The rooms are really spacious, and staff are courteous at all times. Definitely a place to stay for people who loves heritage and historical culture. I hope the on-going renovations won't lessen the hotel's colonial touch.

Nice colonial style hotel with unforgettable ambience.
However some facilities should be updated.
Unforgettable experience it n raffles bar with throwing walnut on the flor while drinking the best Singapore song cocktail in the world.

My husband and I had High Tea here. Very nice and staff very friendly. You must book for this. Loved Raffles Hotel,so much history. Old elegance. Would go again.

Stayed a night last year, exceptional service and the room trims were very impressive. lots of character about the entire property. Remember to try the Singapore Sling at any of the bars!

Great bar and coffee. Service impeccable. Despite the on going renovations, experience was still great

Fantastic to taste the Singapore Sling in its birthplace and at a hotel with such history. Atmosphere and service in the Bar and Billiards room. Sadly the Long Bar was shut for renovation and the Hotel will be closing for a period from December 2017, so check before you visit. The Bar and Billiards room offered the same experience with peanut shells in the floor. Lovely little promenade of shops and a well stocked gift shop of Raffles memorabilia. Would recommend a stop in as it's such a key tourist attraction.

The service at raffles hotel was top class. The interior of the hotel was also lovely and I enjoyed every moment at raffles hotel. It had a convenient location as well as there were shopping malls nearby to facilitate shopping and dining. There is even a souvenir shop nearby to buy souvenirs from Singapore

Memorable service with almost all staff we came across greeting us by name and making us really feel at home. Butlers put sweet extra touches to make our wedding night even better.

Johnny Teo (18/06/2017 05:37)
Visited Raffles Hotel for it's world famous Singapore Sling. Atmosphere was authentic with 1930's colonial architecture and furnitures. Drinks were amazing although slightly on the pricier side but you pay what you get!

Luong Nhat Dam (17/06/2017 06:47)
The staffs are very kind. They let me wander around the hotel and the view is so elegant and amazing. So cool. The best thing I like is that there is a bus stop nearby so I don't have to walk much. Love it!

Ricardo Foli (31/05/2017 12:31)
Drinks at Bar & Billiards. Gorgeous place, great atmosphere, and it gives you a glance into the Raffles Hotel. Only caveat: the price of the Singapore Sling is pretty steep at 30+ dollars.

Bronwyn Lawther (07/05/2017 23:09)
We went to Raffles for High Tea and were not dissapointed! The place itself is just beautiful to look at and the high tea was fabulous. Silver service, harpist playing in the corner, lovely teas cold and hot to choose from and of course the original Singapore sling! We loved it! Easy to get to as it is on the corner of Orchard Road but the taxis are so cheap over there you can get anywhere at a very reasonable price.

Dan Ingham (06/05/2017 10:09)
Didn't stay at Raffles went for a cliched Singapore Sling to tick the box. Cocktail was ok but the experience really left me wanting more. No education, theatre or care for explaining the history of the venue or drink. Classic tourist machine churning out the same cocktail at around $30+. The soulless robotic barman makes these on batch so you don't really see anything until it's presented at your table 2 minutes after you ordered. This place and experience could be great but the management needs to make an effort.

Helen Aivazian (14/04/2017 23:13)
Where else should one partake of the Singapore sling but at the raffles hotel? Great experience. I didn't actually stay at the hotel overnight but I enjoyed the bar and walking around. Beautiful hotel with interesting history.

Richard Navarro (26/03/2017 06:37)
Historic hotel with great architecture and an amazing bar! They have the good old Singapore sling which is well mad here! The atmosphere of the hotel is vibrant with a great little Oasis in the middle of the grounds! Definitely worth a visit even if you're not a guest at the hotel

Jay Telford (27/02/2017 23:15)
Whether its as a tourist buying things for all the friends that say "hey get me something from Raffles" or just wanting to see some of the EXCELLENTLY preserved colonial history of Singapore its definitly worth a visit to see the gardens, the architecture and*ahem* the bathrooms, such nice bathrooms.

The gift shops well and truly charge accordingly, but were you really expecting a discount coffee mug. no, shame on you. This is Raffles.

Do take the time to wander the gardens (but be respectful of guests). As for the singapore sling, well that's a personal thing, and I found better elsewhere, but for some its a must do tick box.

Hillary S (23/02/2017 20:36)
Singapore Sling drink is made here, expensive (but all alcohol is in Singapore). The hotel looks nice, the bar area has a really cool fan system. Look up!

Winston Yee (29/01/2017 11:39)
Very pretty hotel. We went for the high tea as it is meant to be the best. However I was pretty disappointed. The sandwiches were quite dry and the dim sum buffet wasn't anything to be impressed about. The service however was outstanding.

Tom Phillips (08/11/2016 21:31)
Attended high tea. Setting was amazing. service was excellent. Food was exquisite. i have a peanut allergy and when i enquired what of the buffet i could eat, I was reassured personally by the head chef that everything was safe. cannot recommend enough.

23Oct2016 - Sunday Brunch buffet $198++ for free flow champagne is a rather premium one. It's more European than international, with all the dried meat and cheeses. Seafood includes crab claws, 3 different oysters, mid size lobsters - oysters were the freshest I have tasted in Singapore. Pan fried scallops were great. Own made dark chocs were good, goes well with espresso/latte. Overall meeting expectation on a hefty price - the oysters and refreshing champagne were the highlight...

Very majestic in looks. Hotel of international standards. Eminent personalities mostly prefer this place. Very costly. Has around 2 to 3 bars and best in class service.

We had booked High Tea at the Raffles, a month in advance, but still had to line-up to get into the Tiffin Room at Raffles Hotel. Once we were inside, it was all style and comfort.

Sumptuous snacks and bubbling hot English Breakfast tea was served in style by trained and polite staff, while a melody was being played on the harp right next to our table.

Snacks included a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian items, fruits, cup-cakes. You name it, they had it.

Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. You could be inside the Tiffin Room from 4pm to 7pm, but we had enough by 5:30. After all, how much can you eat and how much tea can you drink.

Took some nice (some panoramic) photos which you might enjoy.

Wow. This is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. Such a gorgeous building. I really enjoyed drinking a Singapore sling by the pool here (the drink was invented at the hotel)

The rooms were amazing as well. Large and very luxurious.

I only walked around the place. The bar was closed, but it all looked very nice. I wasn't allowed in the lobby, as I wasn't a guest. I can understand that, as they don't want the lobby filled with noisy tourists.

Paul McWhorter (02/07/2016 12:28)
I had a chance to dine at the Raffles Hotel, and must say was the most memorable meal of my life. The restaurant was reminiscent of the grandness of the British Empire of a hundred years ago. The meal was an eight course meal, with each element better than the one before it. Unbelievable food and service. Truly, it was one of the spectacular memories of my life.

Raffles in Singapore... a tradition and a legendary place. Long bar is a must try ! ☺

What an amazing building in the centre of Singapore. We only visited the bar a few times for Singapore Slings. Where else really! The drinks were amazing and the floor was covered in monkey nut shells. What an amazing experience.

Rob Milanese (19/04/2016 07:58)
A lovely nostalgic hotel and surrounding buildings (boutique shops and bars).
The rooms were in keeping with the image and the staff were exceptionally nice, while working in the heat.
Navigating around the building can be confusing as all corridors buildings and stairwells look the same.
Resident only pool on the roof looks and feels great.
The Long Bar, situated on the second floor can be busy, as its open to the general public early evening but that just proves its popularity.

Carlos Sinde (11/04/2016 21:38)
This place lives up to the service and attention to detail at least in my mind. The butlers are amazing kind hearted people. The front desk Conceirge and staff made sure we were able to settle in recognizing how tired we looked upon our arrival.

The staff is SUPER Friendly and helpful.

Raffles Hotel Singapore is one of those places you will remember for years.
