Popular bookstore is very popular with "kiasu" parents shopping for previous years examination papers for their overworked kids with astigmatism and severe myopia. Add a few interesting novels, stationery section and some kids with attitude problems browsing the bookstore, we have a magical mixture of retail excitement and examination fever, pitched at reasonable prices to further seduce exam mad kids to purchase even more exam papers for tuition. Hey, if your kid couldn't score 4 A stars for his or her PSLE, drop by Popular and see if he can ace the O levels in 4 years time. But wait, you need those exam papers from Popular bookstore!

Been buying books and stationery from this Popular Book store for years. It's one of the bigger branches selling not only books but household stuff and electrical appliances as well😱
There's a small Urban Write section but the items kind of stagnated, so the thematic stationery like Hello Kitty, Rilakkuma, Snoopy etc stay the same for months! Not very exciting in this aspect. They don't update their stationery as quickly as NBC stationery shops or Tokyu Hands.
But school books-wise, it's great. English books section is still rather small. The other gripe I might have is the slowness of the check-out counters. It's a real snail pace during weekends and they tend to depend on just one or two cashiers even during crowded times of ten plus people in line.

A medium-sized Popular Bookstore that is not usually crowded. Two counters at both ends, but due to slow service, queue may be long.

I have been coming to this Popular bookstore since I was 7 years old, and it is still my favorite. Huge selection of books, stationery, office and craft materials. I have almost never walked out empty handed after coming in to find some some random bit of stationery.

People most commonly come here to pick up textbooks, assessment books and stationery. Storybooks are a dying product and they have downsized that section quite a bit, you can shop for their full collection online at their website. Staff are helpful, especially when you ask them to help you find textbooks as they are well trained.

One of the last few places in marine parade neighbourhood where you can these tree-based products called books. These so called books were once used to transmit people's ideas, thoughts and beliefs before it was suddenly replaced by 1's and 0's. Popular stored quite a selection of them but it's now selling more stationery, movies, electronic products, even electrical products and even have full range of study snacks.
