Food and service is good. Satisfiable ambience too. The downside was the mac and cheese pasta I ordered today was slightly salty with the cheese and salt toppings I suppose. Would be great if it was less salty.

Nice place to have a catch-up over a meal. Prices are a bit on the high side though. Ambiance is good, but only during off-peak hours. The tables are close to each other so during peak hours, you will be conpeting with the noise from the surrounding tables.

Ambience is definitively there. Staff were excellent.
Wine choice is decent but unfortunately the food is not of standard for the price. I would expect a main of $30 to be of a decent taste but it is just burnt, and mass produced food. Good for the camera, bad for the taste bud.
The beef is good. But everything of the fusion menu - horrible.

A great place to have dinner with friends or your loved ones. Has a pleasant ambiance, friendly staff and decent food and drinks.
Some pasta dishes have a local twist to them which you might either love it or hate it.

Well priced lunch sets with an interesting Japanese inspired menu. Food was tasty and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Open relatively late compared to other sit down restaurants in the area. Some food was really good (mostly the Asian dishes). I had lobster mac and cheese and it was OK, and truffle fries were great! Beers were affordable as well.

Don’t even waste your money and time. Food was bad. Service was worst. The risotto wasn’t even cooked properly and they tried to pass off white bread as rye. Also, have you seen ice cream that never melts? My neighbourhood McDonald’s has better recovery service than Platypus Kitchen. So disappointing.

There are some restaurants where due to understaffing during peak times, you’d have to wait ages to make an order or pay your bill - one of my pet peeves. Whilst some other restaurants are pretty ordinary in taste.
This restaurant has excellent service coupled with excellent taste. You can see the kitchen working in symphony with one another dishing out mouth watering food into your plate. I know I’ll definitely visit here again, worth every dollar I paid.

A cozy place in Bugis! They have brunch specials, w $3 off your drink if you order one of the selected dishes. The vegan mushroom linguine was delicious, but had a tad too much garlic towards the end which made it bitter. However, it was good overall! The steak sandwich was also tasty and you can choose the doneness. It was served w a generous portion of fries. As for the drinks, my iced matcha latte was far from matcha - it tasted like very sweet and milky green tea instead. The hot chocolate was served with peppero, but was very sweet as well. The iced mocha was good. Service wise- we had a small mishap with the server, they were apologetic and and offered their help. Unfortunately, they mixed up my friend's order after that, but we didn't pursue it further.

Food is not good, we left the place with almost half of our foods not eaten. Risotto over seasoned, too salty. Salmon almost no taste with watery sauce.. mantou is too oily. Only thing we finish is the mushroom soup. And this meal cost $100+ definitely not worth at all. Beer and the white wine taste terrible as well.

I love the ambiance, lobster rice tastes fantastic. the steak was so-so. don't really worth the price. great service.

Ordered 1 classic set n 1 garlic aburi salmon. For set main course is onsen egg carbonara. Delicious food. Highly recommend. Beer cider n some cocktail only6$ for all day

Incredible and unique. This was the highlight of our trip to Singapore. Deli! Deli! The food was high in flavor and Linda. Excellent combinations

Went here for lunch in July 2017. The place is great!
Upon stepping in, I can feel that it is chic place. There are plenty of seats around during lunch time, and the waiter is quick to settle us down. The service is one of the best I have seen for non fine-dining restaurant. They were quick to clear our tables and serve our appetisers. Mains are served timely too.
The food tastes great. All my lunch buddies love their choice. I had a ribeye sandwich. The meat is tender & juicy. The restaurant is pretty generous with the portions too.
A pity that I felt that the sandwich is slightly cold when it came and they serve hot sauces as their chilli sauce, which I find it too watery.
Overall, I find it a great place to dine for large group and romantic dates.

Ambience - cosy and perfect for small groups!
Food - seriously amazing, loved the risotto and the truffle slices! Highly recommend the set!
Service - on the ball, friendly and sets a high standard! Great!
Price range: around 30-50 so it's great for a special celebration!

The food is okk but not great, I would say it's definitely overpriced for the quality, or maybe I just picked the wrong stuff to order. The overall taste of everything was far from refined. Most items I would describe as mediocre. I mean given what I was paying I wasn't expecting my food to taste like canned soup or fishy store-bought chili sauce or dessert made by my culinarily-challenged aunt. And the steak came cold!! :( On the plus side service is good, staff were attentive. In short, it's an ok place but I wouldn't recommend or come back. Can definitely get better food elsewhere for the same money.

An outstanding restaurant. Had a great time and great food here. They have worked magic in their sauces! The truffle honey sauce which pairs with the steak is to die for. Wonderful warm service too!

Fantastic! Lovely service staff and food. You must try the Truffle Fries and the Truffle Wagyu Beef Bowl! The steak was top notch as well. Very near Intercontinental Hotel.

Wonderful dinner. Had a wonderful casual dinner date. Food was lovely and wine's were well selected. I liked the food. Kinda Asian and Modern Singaporean. Unexpectedly superb

Had an excellent dinner here last night, and came back today for lunch! Lovely service and the Asian rice bowls; especially the wagyu beef and truffle and the salmon dishes are to die for! Loved the hip interiors too

We stopped by for dinner with our son and found the food to be lacking. I would accuse the soup of having come out of a can and then burnt in the microwave, but it was served lukewarm. The chili crab buns smelled really fishy, like they had sat out for too long. The pasta dish we ordered was average. The half chicken was pretty delicious, as well as dessert. The staff was well attentive, and friendly.
We left hungry after spending $80.

I have been to Platypus Kitchen before they shifted to the first floor of Bugis Junction. I must say I was terribly disappointed with their new menu. All the pasta dishes used to be handmade, but I was disappointed to be served instant linguine with what tasted like sweet chili sauce when I ordered the crab meat lunch set. I couldn't get through more than a quarter of it.

The menu here is quite exciting. There is a lot of variation, and the pasta is good. Quite pricy though, but they have a lot of alcholic menu and with very cheap price for cafe. Very nice place for brunch and chit chat.

Good and innovative food at reasonable prices. Their lunch menu is great value-for-money! Food preparation leave a little more to be desired though

The chicken was good. But be prepared for a huge portion. So you might want to share if you are not eating to much. The set not always provide good savings so if you don't want to have dessert do not take the set. Service staff was friendly.
